The food is ok but the service is TERRIBLE! I’ve ordered delivery twice from them. The first time the driver got so angry and yelled at me over the phone because he couldn’t find my house. My house is in the city, in a neighborhood with a street light right in front of my house, not difficult to find. When he arrived he shoved my food at me and stomped off without a word. The second time I ordered on a Friday night, their website says they’re open until 11:00 and delivery orders are accepted until 10:30. I work at a restaurant and I got home late, so I placed my order shortly after 10:00, plenty of time before their 10:30 cutoff and 11:00 closing time. The driver arrived around 10:50 and told me, VERY rudely, that if ever want them to deliver again I need to call earlier because they need to have time to clean up. They still weren’t even closed yet! Why is calling almost an hour before they close still not early enough??? If my restaurant turned people away an hour before we closed because we need to clean, I can’t imagine we’d be open for business too much longer. If you don’t want to be open until 11:00 then change your hours of operation, don’t have your website tell your customers one thing and you say another.
Welcome to the world of 'un-hospitality'. I went to this restaurant because it was only India Vegetarian Restaurant in town and had good reviews on yelp. Today I went to this restaurant with my family and parents. The food was ok but guess wasn't fresh as there was sour taste typical for few days old Indian food. I hope they didn’t try to get rid of left-over on weekends. Restroom was stinking pretty badly and they were out of both paper and soap. While we were eating food a party of 10 arrived, sensing $$ the hostess (possibly owner) of the restaurant asked (not requested) my 70+ years old parents to move to another table. I was shocked to hear that how can someone in ‘hospitality’ industry do that, we were almost done if she couldn’t accommodate them she should have asked the newcomers to wait for couple of minutes but she chose to order us to get up while we were still eating. We decided to leave the place at once, while I was paying my wife thought she should finish up her food…to surprise us again the hostess, though she saw her eating, asked if she was done. We were very upset with the hostess and the way she is managing the restaurant. I wish there was a mandatory training/course before someone is allowed to open a restaurant. Another shocker was the bill, there is no mention anywhere in the menu or in the restaurant but still they charged 18% gratuity. Normally, I like to tip but I wonder how many of us would really like to pay gratuity after this kind of experience. A Sunday family dinner well ruined by Mrs. Woodland, I wish I had spent my 100$ somewhere else. Please consider them only if you are good with average food and don’t mind similar experience.
I am very particular about Indian food. I will not spend my money on any old restaurant - it has to be high quality, delicious and fresh. When I moved to Charlotte from the west coast, I had a very difficult time finding an Indian restaurant that satisfied my already high standards. Restaurant after restaurant disappointed me. And then I found Namaste. Every single time I walk into Namaste, I know I am going to get outstanding food. I have not been disappointed once - not once. Whether eating off of the buffet (which has more variety than any Indian buffet I have ever seen) or ordering off of the menu, I guarantee you will be delighted. I am convinced that this is the best Indian restaurant in Charlotte.
