Matt and I were married at the Victorian Villa on March 24, 2012. We fell in love with the villa the moment we saw it online. However, once we were there, we fell in love even more. It is such a romantic place! From the soft music playing to the lights, this place is definitely one of a kind! Matt and I met Liz and Hutch in September when we made an appointment to check out the venue. We booked our wedding that night! Every time we made contact with them, we truly felt like we were the only wedding they had to think about. Each time, they would remember previous conversations, parents names and even more! Liz and Hutch definitely know what they are doing! I think my favorite part besides getting married was how stress free the planning was. The Villa handles A LOT for you! For the most part, I think we only had to worry about supplying the alcohol, photographer and favor sort of things. I really liked the option of supplying our own alcohol. Many places charge an arm and a leg for drinks. We ended up bringing wine, beer, and 2 liquors that we thought most people would enjoy. Our wedding package included DJ, all food (which was amazing!), cake, and the use of the entire venue. When we sent out RSVPs, we asked our guests to give us a favorite song they would like to hear. We compiled this list and gave it to the DJ. They did a great job in playing many of them! Our cake was the best cake we have ever eaten...not joking! We froze the rest so that we wouldn't have to throw away. :)
When it came to our wedding day, I was very impressed! The week leading up to the wedding showed 60% chance of rain. We were so bummed that there would be a possibility of an indoor wedding. We rented a few tents that Friday just in case of rain. On the wedding day, it did end up raining, but stopped minutes before the ceremony started. The Villa staff did an excellent job in keeping us calm about the rain. They also did a wonderful job making sure everything was dry and ready to go when the rain stopped. Liz did a wonderful job in making sure the ceremony ran smoothly. The reception was awesome as well. We ended up having the tents up still. However, it worked out just perfectly! I barely even noticed they were there and it really kept it nice and cool. The staff at the Villa were so nice and very attentive to any need we may have had. It's been almost a month since our wedding and I still have people commenting on how beautiful the wedding was and how nice and comfortable they felt, thanks to the staff. I have out of town friends that have said they plan on recommending newly engaged couples to take a trip down to Charlotte to check this place out.
I know I will never get married again, so I won't relive this magical moment at the Villa. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for venues. You will not be disappointed!

Victorian Villa is the most amazing wedding venue in the Charlotte area. I had the pleasure of giving my heart away there last Saturday, April 7th, 2012. From the moment I met Liz & Hutch until the last song was played I experienced customer service & authenticity at its finest!!! Liz & Hutch truly want to make your day unforgettable!!! Weddings are what they live for!!! I remember thinking I have no idea how to plan a wedding, what am I going to do?!! Then I met Liz & Hutch. If you are thinking of hiring a wedding planner DON’T! Reserve your date at the Victorian Villa & you get Liz!!! She handles every small detail & if you don’t know what you want she will help you choose with tasteful class & elegance! They are so professional & easy to work with. They were so prompt in answering questions & giving ideas when I didn’t know what to do! When I arrived at the Villa for my special day I was greeted by four staff members who were genuinely excited for me. They unloaded my car in a matter of seconds & ushered me to my grand layer were I prepared for the event of a lifetime. The room was stocked with goodies to make sure my belly stayed full & plenty of water to make sure I was hydrated. They did not miss one single detail! They constantly checked on me to make sure I had everything I needed. The food was AMAZING! I had so many compliments after the wedding on how great the food & cake was. So many of my guests were pleasantly surprised that they had fun at our wedding! I attribute this to the immaculate grounds, intimate setting & of course the amazing DJ. If you are looking for a unique & effortless place to get married… this is it. Sit back & relax while they handle all the details & insure your day goes perfectly.

My dream wedding took place on Oct. 1, 2011 at the Victorian Villa on Lake Wylie! It was a 6:00 pm wedding and the setting was absolutely beautiful. The reception area looked even better than I had pictured. But what really made the event seamless, was Liz, Todd and all of their staff! From the time we reserved the Villa (almost 1 year in advance), Liz and Todd were very good about answering all of our questions, giving great advice and allowing us to make visits to the Villa to ensure everything was as we planned. Liz was great when we came out for the rehearsal - she is a pro at what she does and I felt very comfortable after leaving the rehearsal that she had everything under control. On my wedding day, the place looked gorgeous and all of the ladies on staff were so accommodating. They brought us snacks and drinks as we were getting ready and kept checking on us to see if there was anything we needed. They really made me feel like a princess. Liz kept checking in with me throughout the evening to see if I needed anything and she also kept things on schedule, like the cake cutting, so that I didn't have to worry about those details. I recommend using the vendors they list on their website. We used Christine Robinson and her daughter on flute for the ceremony music , we used Winters Past florist and we used their DJ's, Curious George. They were awesome - the dance floor was packed the entire night! The food was very good - the chicken cordon bleu was excellent! We have heard nothing but glowing remarks about the wedding from our friends and family. If I had to do it all again, I wouldn't change a thing! Thank you Liz and Hutch for making our wedding dreams come true!!

My daughter was married at the Villa at sunset on 9.23.11 and the entire setting was priceless and beautiful. We had many out of state family and all that attended said they have never been to such a wonderful place.
It is the perfect venue for ANY outdoor event with a waterside gazebo, grand stairway, plenty of cozy seating with magnificent landscaping through out the property. Entire staff was very professional and caring....so caring that my daughter slightly ripped her dress moments before the ceremony and 2 staff members kept cool and mended the dress on site without the bride even knowing !!! They saved the day! The food was awesome and I recommend the chicken cordon blue and the beef tips. I truly appreciate Liz, Todd and entire Villa staff making such a special day for the bride, groom and entire guest. It will be remembered for many years to come.

Last weekend my daughter and my new son-in-law were wed at the Victorian Villa Bed and Breakfast Inn. The owners of the Villa and their staff were exceptional. They handled every detail with such professionalism, making the event stress free for all involved. We rented the Villa for the weekend and held the rehearsal on Friday and the wedding on Saturday. I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a beautiful, elegant, and stress-free wedding!
Location: Near the airport making it easy for anyone traveling from out of town. It is also close to many large hotels which is wonderful for guests who need lodging. The Villa provides a shuttle to the parking area at the nearby school. They also arranged, per our request, for a shuttle from the hotel where our guests were staying to the Villa. Cool!
Grounds: Beautifully maintained. A storm had blown through the neighborhood the day before the wedding; tree debris was everywhere. The staff had the grounds in tip-top shape for our arrival. The staff is very friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. I felt a wonderful sense of calm knowing that the event was being handled by such capable hands. The stress of holding an event as big as a wedding was lifted from us, enabling us to fully enjoy the blessed event.
Food: We had barbecue fare for the rehearsal and a formal dinner for the reception. My daughter and son-in-law chose the Prime Rib and the Chicken Marsala. Excellent! Since we stayed at the Villa for the weekend, we also had breakfasts there as well and they were delicious! Chef Edie and the kitchen staff prepare the food on site and it is served to perfection, with tasteful presentations. We had guests with special dietary needs (vegetarians/gluten free) and the Villa was able to accommodate us! Thanks!
Accommodations: Spacious and tastefully decorated with period pieces. The bride and bridesmaids prepared for the wedding in the Lincoln Suite. There was ample room for the ladies to dress, do their makeup and hair for the wedding. The men prepared for the wedding in the Juliet Suite, which is large and accommodated their needs too!
Proprietors: Liz and Todd, are wonderful. Todd worked with us during the planning phase and Liz handled all of the logistics upon our arrival. Liz is absolutely amazing, with such grace and poise. She handled the role of wedding director with such professionalism; she is a natural at what she does! We brought along our wedding items, such as favors, programs, etc. It was such fun going through all of our wedding props with her and explaining what we hoped to accomplish with everything. Liz was as excited as we were going through everything and ensuring that our vision would be accomplished. Liz, Todd and the staff worked together on Saturday and prepared the Villa for the special day. They made everything that we had hoped for come to life! It was even better than we had expected! Liz, as director, used a wireless microphone system and kept the event on track. Any need we had was met by the staff. They are perfect at what they do. I have nothing but praise for all: Ebony, Shannon, Michael, Edie, Daphne, Alicia, and everyone else. You made my daughter, son-in-law, my husband and me so very happy!
Setting: The water features create a relaxing, cool and calm setting. We enjoyed the fountains, the babbling brook, the bridge over the pool, and the lake view. The grand staircase was gorgeous and enabled a grand entrance for my daughter to enter the ceremony. The gazebo facing the lake is the perfect ceremony location. The Villa, the grounds, the lake view and the wonderful landscaping made for wonderful photo opportunities
When planning an outdoor wedding, there is always the risk that rain may occur. Well, it rained. The rain held off long enough for the ceremony and photos, but then let loose. Kudos to the Villa again! The staff handled relocating the tables and guests seamlessly. It was still awesome!

I recently had the pleasure to attend the wedding of a good friend at this venue and was truly impressed by the setting. The location is perfect, being on a quiet slice of the lake, and the property is lovely. The wedding I attended seated around 50 people, who sat comfortably throughout. The food and service was excellent, and the family who owns the property were as excited to have us as we were to be there. I can certainly recommend Victorian Villa for weddings and get away weekends! Two thumbs up!

As the mother of the bride, I feel the need to express my thanks to the staff of the Inn. Liz was like a mind reader. She was Johnny on the spot, our perssonal wedding organizer. Liz took the worry right out of us and made us feel calm and secure. The other helpers were all smiles and very polite. The Inn has great photo opportunities, as the grounds are beautiful. The food and cake were excellent. We were able to bring our own alcohol (saves $!) for which they had a Tiki bar. The dance area and patios were festive. It couldn't of been any better.
Thank you, Liz, Todd and the staff.

My boyfriend was a groomsman in a wedding this past Saturday at the B&B. From the rehearsal to the wedding, it was all very well conducted and planned. I was very impressed with the staff and how willing they were to help with anything we needed. Even as a few of us were super early since we were dates of the wedding party, they catered to us and were willing to help us with everything and every question we had. It was a beautiful wedding and I am so happy I was able to be a guest there. Thank you!!

Our daughter got married this past weekend and it was totally awesome. The owners and the staff was out of this world. They could not do enough for our family and all of our guests.
We spent the whole weekend their and was treated like family. The grounds were gorgeous and very well kept. The set up for the wedding was beautiful. The day of the wedding the staff was always around to see if we we needed anything. Our guests were totally raving about the staff and how they could not do enough for anyone. The food was out of this world. Everyone raved about it.
Everything we wanted done for our daughters wedding was completely done. We could not ask for a better place to have this special day. We would recommend this place to anyone.
I would like to thank Liz and Todd the owners for a beautiful place and making sure all our details were what we wanted. Thank you Jackie for assisting with the directing of the wedding. You were awesome. We also would like to thank Ebony, Edie,Alicia,Michael, Deb and all the other staff for making our stay and event so wonderful. You are all outstanding. We will definitely spread the word about your place and hopefully be back again for a stay.
Once again best wedding. Thanks again to all of you for making this such a special time for us.

My husband and I just had our wedding at the Villa. It was supposed to be an outdoor wedding, but it rained all day. The staff was amazing! They pulled it all together inside instantly and even though our sequence of events was now ruined due to the rain, they did a fantastic job. Everyone was so sweet and helpful. They wanted to make sure that our wedding day was everything we hoped it would be. And it was! Even if it hadn't of rained, I know they would have been great also. And the food was out of this world!
They had just made renovations, it was beautiful with all the string lights and the lighted pool. The composite decking was particularly wonderful, because it doesn't snag the bottom of your dress. Little touches like this make this place wonderful!
They have great package deals for weddings which include the dj, security, food, accommodations, decorations, table settings, and the cake (which is so delicious it's a sin). It is definitely worth checking out!

The Victorian Villa is awful, creepy, the service is bad and two of our rooms were burglarized while the wedding was going on outside. We heard rumors of irritated neighbors and past issues within hours of arriving. For starters: A police officer arrives in the late afternoon and stares over your wedding because of prior disturbances and complaints from the neighbors. Not a big problem but we were never informed he would be there. He should have been inside catching the person who stole more than $600, an mp3 player, camera and keys from the two separate rooms the items were in. It had to have been an inside job, but, innocent until proven guilty. With the exception of one cordial employ, the employees were disgruntled from the moment I met them. At our morning breakfast, I was constantly asked how much longer we were going to be there because she does not get paid overtime. I think a more appropriate approach would've been to talk to her boss. They also ran out of some of the food items during the wedding. I think they were under-staffed and that's management's fault. It seems as though an incompetent, outlaw couple has come across money, purchased a two family Victorian home, kept one side for a dwelling, threw the word ""Villa"" into the mix and lured victims in with a website. Call the local police department for verification of my story. My blessings to anyone who takes a chance with this place. Their muscle car is going to wake you up early in the morning.

We had our wedding at Victorian Villa Inn Oct 15, 2010. All of the guests made comments as to how beautiful the location is. Okay, starting with the ceremony. They have a lot of different things available to use, they set out a guest book table by the stairs coming in, a sand ceremony table in the gazebo for use, whatever I needed they provided it and even set up the sand ceremony vases and such that I purchased. The pictures from the ceremony turned out amazing; the lake in the backdrop was perfect and I loved the flowers and hanging baskets they have there all ready, the only flowers I had to buy on my own were the bouquets. I had my wedding at 5:00 and while the sun was in my eyes, it made for some gorgeous pictures with the sun reflecting off the lake and shining through my veil. I loved the winding staircase that I walked down on my own, it was lovely. The gazebo for the bridal party is huge so everyone fits under it nicely. We had the reception there as well and it couldn't have been better; the dance floor and table areas were perfectly set up-again, just how the bride wants them. I named all the tables on my own and made place cards accordingly, and they set everything out. I was so busy I just had to trust them to get it right as the way I printed it was kinda confusing, but they handled it and everything was perfect. There is a whole separate area for the smokers kept far enough away from the dance floor which is nice. We also reserved the entire inn for the night for ourselves and out of town guests, and we loved the rooms, they are spacious and beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is nice, and the inn is so beautiful in the daylight, we walked the grounds and took a boat out, it was a perfect ending to the wedding. Just a couple of tips: You may want to consider hiring a bartender for the night (or asking a friend to do it) if you don't want it to be self-serve, as due to permits and such the staff is not able to handle anything to do with the alcohol, not even provide ice. They tell you this in advance so as long as you plan for it, it shouldn't be an issue. They are strict about how their place is cared for, for instence: no red drinks inside, but there are reasons for this, they have beautiful antiques that they want to keep nice, and again they tell you all this upfront so you can plan on white wine instead of red or whatever. I saw on one of the reviews that they had trouble getting in touch with Todd. He did tell us they are getting extremely busy since they have been voted best wedding venue for like the third year or something so book early, and I had really good luck emailing him instead of calling but I'm more of an e-mailer. He responds within a few days. It is family-run so they answer their own emails, phone lines, mow their own lawns and the wife plants the flowers herself, so yes, they are super busy but doing it themselves keeps costs low and therefore kept my price low. It was the most cost-effective wedding I saw when looking which was a big bonus for us since we were paying for it ourselves. Overall, we were so happy with our wedding and our guests thought it was fantastic as well. Highly reccommended.

We had a blast splashing around in that ""big box full of hot bubbly water"", drinking wine, and checking out a grand view of the lake and tree covered hillside.
Many activities on site ... canoe, paddle boat, quiet road for a walk, large well kept grounds for relaxing/reading/eating. Really it was more like a mini-resort.
The Juliet suite was spacious. The bed was excellent, and the room had two sets of french doors that open to a porch with an awesome lake view. The rooms and house had many interesting antique furnitures and decorations.
Also, very convenient location ... 15 min to downtown Charlotte, very close to airport and US National Whitewater park.
We were as happy indoors as out, and definitely recommend.
My daughter was married at the Victorian Villa and my husband and I could not have been more pleased with both the loveliness of the place and the helpful staff, particularly Liz and Todd, the owners.
The food was really good and beautifully presented ,everything needed was provided for in a timely and friendly way.
A memorial event that we will never forget, and I must say at a reasonable price also. Thanks again Liz and Todd, we appreciate your atttention and kindness.
Well what can I say, but thank you! My daughter had the most awesome wedding at the Villa. I wish I would have written a review sooner because I sure am appreciative. As daddy's of the bride tend to do...pay for the big event...I did and sure was shocked at the great price we got for such an elegant wedding and reception. The wedding was held in a stately gazebo on the lake front, just as my Melanie had wanted. My wife was impressed with the food and the wait staff. The gracious owners, Todd and Liz made it all happen for my little girl and that makes me an appreciative dad! Thanks again.
Just wanted to take a quick moment to say what a delightful experience we had getting married at the Victorian Villa. A friend had her wedding there and told us that Todd would take good care of us and he sure did. We had a romantic ceremony on the lake and a blast at our reception. Everything from flowers to food to music was incredible. We LOVED our boat ride get away at the end of the evening. Waking up the next morning to the beauty of Lake Wylie was relaxing. What a great way to start our marriage. I totally recommend the Villa for anyone looking for the PERFECT place to wed. Ask for Todd!
I must say that I had the most beautiful dream wedding. I chose the Victorian Villa for my wedding to start with because of the serene lakeside beauty that it has to offer. I ended up loving it even more because of the professionalism of the owners, Todd and Liz Hutcheson. Todd sat down with me as I went through every wedding detail that I have been dreaming of since childhood. He was patient and accomodating. His wife Liz, helped me on the day of my wedding. She made sure that my guest and I felt at home and that we had what we needed. My ceremony went perfectly according to plan. I got married in the gazebo down by the waterside. I loved having the sunset behind me as I wed the most wonderful man! It was really awesome being able to reside in this quaint Victorian home for my once in a lifetime wedding weekend. I rented the whole house for my family and friends. It was nice being able to have breakfast with all of the special people in my life the morning after my wedding. I'd love to visit the Villa again one day. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue. Todd, Liz and the Villa staff will take great care of you down to every last detail. Great memories will be made!

Thank you so much to Todd and Liz for making my wedding so special. I must say that I felt so taken care of before, during, and after my wedding. As a bride, I knew what I wanted and how it must be done. Todd made sure that all of my wedding details were carried out as planned. I was very appreciative of the Villa staff for being so curtious to my guests. I rented the whole house for my guests and we loved the rooms! The day of my wedding my friends and I enjoyed relaxing around and about the house. Breakfast was delicious. I loved how well the Villa grounds were taken care of. I didn't need that many flowers because they already have so many. I even got to use their peace plants around the gazebo. All of the flower beds were full of color...that made everything so complete. Liz made sure I had what I needed as I got ready for the ceremony. Many thanks to her and to Todd. I know they must put so much in what they do at the Villa. I was so glad to find a beautiful place that did not cost me a fortune. I got to have an elegant wedding with a staff that treated me and my wedding party like royalty. The whole staff seemed to always be smiling. I could not have asked for a better host and hostess. Todd and Liz made sure the evening was carried out just as we had discussed. Since I plan to only do this once, I sure do thank Todd, Liz, and the curtious staff at the Victorian Villa. Well done indeed!
