Good Pizza

I went yesterday for lunch with my parents expecting to get a salad and sample whatever my parents ordered. Nothing great about the wait staff and the place seemed a bit empty for a mid-week lunch hour (12:45). I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad, my dad ordered the meat pizza 10' and my mother the roasted eggplant wrap.
When my salad came out it had a mound of LUNCH MEAT on it. McDonald's doesn't even serve salads with deli meat on it and for $10 you could have bought precooked grilled chicken breast form Harris Teeter. Come on Italian Pie. The pizza was very good and the eggplant wrap was pretty tasty.
The lunch meat salad did come with freshly baked bread which was also pretty good. All in all, get the pizza skip the lunch meat salads. I'll would however go back

Great Wait Staff, Big Portions, Aweful Food

Skip this place. GOTO Villa Francesca or Mama Ricotta's for your Uptown Charlotte Italian Fix.

We visited Italian Pie yesterday with a group of three. We shared 2 appetizers, the Mozzarella stix and and Spinach Dip. For dinner we had 2 salads and a Chicken Parm sub. We had a wonderful waitress, kept the cups full. The hostess and bar staff where great and greeted us on the way in. We got all our food hot and in nice size portions.

On to the food: The mozzy stix were plenty, but nothing fancy, out of the box frozen mozzy stix. The Spinach Dip came with fresh made bread stix that were yummy, but the dip was way too hot and way too runny to keep on the stix. A hot thicker Spinach dip would have hit the mark. My Indian friend commented that it tasted more like an Indian spinach side dish, than an Italian Spinach Dip. The salads were huge portions of LETTUCE with some toppings. The Italian dressing was straight out of the jar Wishbone yellow/orange Italian dressing. The chicken parm was a great size sandwich on yummy crispy toasted Italian bread, however it is light on the sauce, lighter on the mozzarella cheese and you had to search for the chicken. I've never scene this before. Rather than use an Italian style breaded chicken cutlet, they use what looked like sliced flavorless chicken deli meat slices. That's right shaved chicken breast. What a complete disappointment.

To give this place any benefit of the doubt, we did not try the Pizza Pies. I gave them 2 stars because of great service and large portions.
