I wanted to treat myself to a massage since I have a VERY stressful schedule, so I made an appt w/ Megan for an hour long swedish massage. It was fabulous, she is wonderful, I was so relaxed and stress free, I didn't want to leave! The spa itself is also wonderful, very clean & relaxing, I felt like such a princess! They supply everything you need plus the little extras like heated massage tables, hot towels, lotion, combs, hairdryers, a machine that spins out the extra water in your bathing suit, sauna, pool, refreshments, a very pleasant staff, nice smelling towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner and body wash! I cant wait to go back!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights to celebrate our first anniversary as it is the only nice resort in Charlotte as of the moment. The hotel staff seemed to go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We planned massages and a brunch the following morning and as always they delivered (my husband and I have visited the spa on numerous occasions) I read another reviewers comment about the patrons of the bar being a little older and I must agree, although the Martini list is awesome (there is even an extragently priced martini at over $80!) The view of the golf course from the room was amazing. This is a nice resort if you wish to go resorting in terms of lounging, eating, playing golf and going to the spa.

My husband and I stayed at ""the resort"" on our wedding night. We requested a late check-out. The cleaning staff spent the morning screaming to each other up and down the hallway, slamming doors and laughing. They knocked on our door three times to ask if we wanted our room cleaned. Upon check-out, I let the woman at the front desk know how miserable our experience was that morning. She didn't even pretend to care. I would never recommend this resort.

I planned a relaxing getaway and everything was perfect (except for the group of kids in the room accross the hall left unattened all day and night by their parents). The hotel tried to address the situation but it was not something they could untimately control.
The staff was superior and the accomodations pristine, spacious and oh so luxe.
We had a spa service in our room and as a seasoned spa goer I was amazed by the quality and value - we had an excellent therapist who was punctual, professional and gave a full + 90 mins of massage - finally a spa that does not skimp on service time.
We will definitly be back!

I came last Thursday for lunch at the resort with my friend. We met Fabien who was very professional and courteous. He informed us very well about the new opening and seemed to be very excited about it.
He made our day and we will be back to try it........
A casual yet sophisticated retreat atmosphere reminiscent of a North Carolina Mountain style hunting lodge. Many of the furnishings were hand crafted by famous NC furniture artisans. Antiques and paintings from around the world were also incorporated to accent the Lodges stately appearance. It has vaulted ceilings, loft game area with chess and a charming antique snooker table, lower level stone patio, rocking-chair front porch. The spacious guest rooms have jetted baths, dual vanities and many of these rooms feature a private balcony or patio.
I just came back to this wonderful hotel after visiting it many months ago and continue to say it is one of the finest hotels I have stayed in while traveling the USA.
Since my last visit, the hotel has added a bar and new restaurant called Gallery Restaurant. Again, one of the nicest experiences in my travels. My wife and I had a great steak and the selection of wines were also quite good (being from California, I know!)
The employees and all friendly and hospitable. I have yet to come accross one that did not have that southern hospitality.

Beautiful Spa and nice receptionists, however, the present stylist does not have the expertise I expect in a place of this stature. I understand they are in the process of hiring a new lead stylist. This individual could benefit from an internship. You may want to inquire beforehand. I found the quality similar to a beauty school, minus the instructor. In addition, my appointment was late and in watching the stylist I could see why. Wonderful potential!

The staff hasn't picked up on what it means to be in a 'service' industry. They aren't very responsive or helpful and while there are many kindly and helpful doorman there are never enough staff at the front desk. The food is poor. The plumbing leaves a lot to be desired. The pool is nice, but only stay here if you're a business traveler on an expense account and have business nearby. Do not be tempted by their marketing that promotes the resort as a weekend getaway - you'll be dreadfully disappointed. And definitely do NOT go to the 'Sunday Brunch'. It isn't even in the hotel restaurant, it is tucked far away in the old golf resort conference room business buffett style. Overall, not very impressed, and wouldn't stay there again.
