Royal orleans Apartments
1924 McAllister Dr, Charlotte, NC 28216
I'm currently in the military and have been in for 21 years and going for the full thirty. I stopped by there because I'm renting my house in Huntersville and wanted a small apartment to pocket some money. I have excellent credit and a hefty salary. The assistant Toni came to the door when I rung the doorbell. After speaking with her, I instantly thought that she was on drugs because of her incoherent nature. She showed me an apartment that was in pretty bad shape and expressed that all of the apartments looks like the one she showed me. I had some questions because like I said that I'm in the military and travel quite often, she got rude with me but I don't think she could fully process the question. I asked to speak to the manager for clarity and he would not come out of the office to speak to me. I left and then called, Toni answered the phone and really didn't want me to speak to Rick but he eventually came to the phone and was so I rude that I told him that I was no longer interested in the apartments and he told me he wouldn't rent to me anyway, I hung up the phone confused. When I got home I googled the reviews and there were alot of them and all gave the Royal Orleans Apartments a ONE STAR and paragraphs of negative, horrible reviews. Cheap price, cheap apartments and cheap service.
I never usually do reviews for anything but I felt like I have to for future residents looking to rent with this apartment. The cons outweigh the pros. The outside landscape is clean, rent is cheap, you have hard wood floors, and mostly quiet elderly (but nosy) neighbors. I sacrificed a dishwasher and washer and dryer hookup because most don’t have them. This was a big mistake because the 2 laundry mats down the street have a lot of guys having out selling drugs out of them or you get homeless drunks asking you for money. The property manager Rick is very difficult to deal with. He is very argumentative, tells you other tenant’s personal business, and spends more time bragging about the things he has than fixing your maintenance repairs. There are only 2 maintenance guys when they need to be 4 fixing a 200 apartment complex. One doesn’t work weekends who has been there for years and others they hire they fire. I’ve had so many major maintenance repairs from my water heater to toilet getting stopped up continuously (The men who fix them said the pipes themselves need to be replace but they only send companies out to just patch things up). It takes 1-2 months for them to fix your maintenance issues and I have to keep going to the office to remind them about it. They have a maintenance emergency number but no one ever answers the page. The people who work in the office are very unprofessional and talk to you any kind of way because you pay cheap rent. These are my main two issues with this place and it’s sad because I like my apartment but it isn’t worth the headache. At first I thought I picked a crappy apartment but my neighbors have the same issues too. Some think they HAVE to deal with this and are too scared to say anything because they believe they will be put out. The smart ones move all together. I will also add they do not spray for bugs and I see the bug truck out here regularly for roaches and bedbugs. What the other tenant said is true I’m just elaborating on the issues here. If you still don’t believe me talk to a good amount of tenants and they will back this up. I did my review search online and couldn’t find any that could have help me not chose this place. I regret moving here. I’m just trying to spare others the same fate.
These apartments and management is HORRIBLE, they never want to make repairs and if and when they do they want to charge you for tem. When you call management out on all the crap that they do then they give you an eviction notice and can't explain why. So befire you consider making this your residence your better RUN because they will screw you over without a care in the world!
