I've been living in SouthWest Charlotte for nearly 10 years, Pan China is no doubt one of my favorite family restaurants; they have good food, good service, and the price is affordable .
My family visited Pan China Cafe last Sat. evening, my wife ordered General Chicken Combo with Vegetable Fried Rice, I had the Chicken Fried Rice, and ordered Chicken Lo Mein for my son. We sat on the counter in front of the open kitchen; we were amazed to see how the cook prepared the food for us. When the food came, it was fresh, hot, and taste absolutely wonderful. The lady who served us was nice, she was helpful to answer our questions when order, quickly to remove our empty dishes, she also refill our drinks several times.
After we finished with our meal, I was surprised to see the bill was only $25; you can't beat that for this quality of food and service. I would definitely recommend Pan China to all of my friend, and we are going back this weekend :)

I live in Ayrsley and there are several Chinese restuarants that deliver to this area. I have several menus in my menu drawer. I have officially thrown away the Pan China menu. Here is why-
I called in a delivery order about two weeks ago. I ordered the General Chicken and an order of Shrimp Fried Rice. When the food came, I took one bite of the General Chicken and spit it out. It taste like nothing but grease. Having worked in a restaurant before, I recognized the taste... Food fried in grease late at night that had not been changed the entire day. I could have almost tolerated that if there had been any sauce on my chicken. But there wasn't. The only flavor I tasted was grease. It was disgusting.
Normally I would have just eaten the rice and called it a night. But I wanted Pan China to know that I was disappointed and if they were to offer to bring something different, I would gladly accept.
When I called the restaurant, the delivery guy answered the phone. I told him my problem and he asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. I said yes. Instead of placing me on hold, he began to speak Chinese to a lady in the background. They went back and forth for a few minutes and then he gets on the phone and says she is too busy to speak to me. He then goes on to tell me that I am wrong. He said the food is not bad or greasy and basically says I am making it all up. He even says ""We did not make a special bad recipe just to deliver to you."" I was so confused. What ever happened to the customer is always right?
After about 10 minutes of him trying to prove me wrong, he finally offered to deliver something else. I accepted and told him he can bring me anything else as long as it was not fried. He came back out in about 20 minutes and exchange the new dish with the old greasy one. I thought I was happy until I took a bit and this one was also disgusting. The egg roll was also all roll and full of nothing. It, too, was greasy.
I tossed all the food in the trash along with their menu. A week later, I ordered Chinese from another nearby restuarant (China Tea Room) at the same hour and the food was excellent. I even ordered from them again a few days later.
Do yourself a favor and skip the bad experience. Order from somewhere other than Pan China Cafe.

I love the tofu dishes at this place. Crispy and not mushy/soggy like other places. Their vegetable fried rice is FULL of fresh vegetables and always cooked fresh. Even their veggie eggrolls are perfectly crispy, not greasy at all :)
Service is great too, nice people, and daily specials.
