Dr. Rao is the best!

I had a medical emergency that needed immediate attention. Dr. Rao diagnosed the problem, referred me to the best Neurosurgeon in Charlotte, and made sure that I got a prompt appointment. Dr. Rao followed me through my hospitalization, which included 6 days in NICU. The care and concern went above and beyond what you would expect from a physican. He continues to oversee my recovery and advises me of the best healthcare options. You could not ask for a more caring physicians than Dr. Rao.

Wonderful Doctor

My husband has been going to Dr. Rao for about 2 years now. Dr. Rao was the one doctor, out of many doctors, to pin point my husband's problems. My husband was in an accident at work and he has mild & moderate brain damage, upper & lower back damage, and neck damage. Dr. Rao is an excellent doctor. If you need to go to a neurologist go see Dr. Rao. We have to drive from Asheville to Charlotte to see Dr. Rao but the drive is worth it!!!! Dr. Rao is very caring, great listener, and he knows what he is doing.

Definitely Best Doctor in Charlotte

I have been a patient of Dr. Rao's for about 3 years and could not be happier with the care I have received from his practice! He is caring, compassionate and a great listener. Most importantly, he is a great diagnostician. His staff is also top-notch! I have seen MANY doctors in Charlotte and can confidently say that Dr. Rao is the BEST!

Not Qualified

My experience here was horrible. I was referred by my family physician who was shocked at what medications I was prescribed and he told me when he finally got return copies of my medical records they were miss spelled and the diagnosis was inconclusive most of which all was done by the physician assistant. My family physician referred me to another Neurologist who treated me for MS right away and got me on the medication I so deperately needed. The new neurologist said the MRI ordered by The Neurological Institute showed lesions on my brain conclusive for MS and was shocked they gave me medication for insomnia and said my MRI was fine. Im glad my family doctor reads his patients charts and keeps up with their records. It is very important that MS is treated in the early stages. Also the staff at The Neurological Institute office was friendly but they seemed very under educated and could not answer simple questions or make change for my copay. I dont think any of them were real nurses. Also they dont have many doctors just physician assistants ran by what seem to be be a very busy overworked doctor trying to keep up with too much. This was a totally expensive joke and a true waste of my time. Afford going here spend your money at a real specialist office.

Good Choice

My doctor sent me to this practice for some problems I was having with tremors and numbness. Dr.MacDonald was a very nice, caring and understanding physician. The entire staff made me feel welcome. I would recommend them to anyone that needed to see a neurologist.

""Best Doctor in Charlotte"".

I have seen Dr. Rao as a patient, as well as 3 members of my family, representing over 2 dozen vists at two seperate offices. We found the staff to be courteous, very professional, accomodating, and sincere in their concern for our medical progress. Dr. Rao has the qualities every patient seeks in a physician, especially as a sub-specialist. He is well trained as a sub-specialist, listens to every detail the patients presents, he is compassionate and very gentile with his examination. He clearly explains the reasons for any ancillary testing and follows-up with patients when testing results are available (a huge issue for patients). His Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists, and technicians are always smiling and very compassionate in their care. I've trusted Dr. Rao with my own care, and that of my family. He clearly is one of the ""Best Doctors"" in North Carolina!

Dont go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Staff is rude. I payed to see a neurologist and all I ever got to see was a physicians assistant. Although Jane the women physician assistant is the best one to see. I think she actually knew more than the physician. You see the physician one time only then physician assistants after that.

Best Doctors

My experience with this Neurological Group was outstanding. From appointment scheduling to seeing the doctor and everything in between. This practice should be recongized as one of the areas best and brightest. Customer service was the best I've ever had at a physicians office. I would recommended them to anyone needing Neurological care.
