Oral Cancer Screening
Oral Cancer Screening is an important tool in determining your overall dental health. We use visual and tactile inspection at every examination to check your skin and underlying muscles and connective tissue, lymph nodes and glands of your face, head and neck as part of an extraoral examination, then the same visual and tactile inspection of the soft and hard tissues inside your mouth. For patients with habits such as tobacco and alcohol use that place them at higher risk we also offer a form of inspection with a special wavelength light that can help identify abnormal tissues that may require biopsy and further evaluation. As with other forms of dental disease, oral cancer is best treated when identified early.

Teeth Cleaning
A dental cleaning is a professional cleaning you receive from a dentist or dental hygienist and is usually completed in less than an 60 minutes. These should be performed every three to six months depending on your level of gum health and are meant to prevent excessive plaque and tartar buildup. Left untreated, these can lead to more severe periodontal disease and tooth decay. Dental cleanings should include scaling, root planing and polishing and the amount of time, materials and effort required to perform this determines the level or type of cleaning each person requires.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are a common preventive treatment in dentistry. Some teeth have fine grooves or pits that accumulate plaque, not because the person doesn't brush, but because the grooves are too narrow to allow even one bristle into them. When plaque accumulates, it can lead to cavities and other types of tooth decay. To apply sealants, a plastic material is brushed onto the tooth, filling these narrow grooves and preventing the cavity-causing buildup. Sealants make healthy teeth possible.

Fillings
Bonding can also be used in place of regular amalgam fillings. Many patients prefer bonded fillings, because the white color is much less noticeable than the silver of the amalgam fillings. Bonding fillings can be used on front and back teeth, depending on the location and extent of tooth decay.
Resin Composite
The direct technique usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. Because of that, the direct technique is usually referred to as bonding. The indirect technique usually involves two appointments because the veneers are fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment, the teeth are prepared, impressions are taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. The veneers come back from the laboratory after two or three weeks. The temporaries are then removed, and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory-fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are esthetically pleasing.
