You could not be more correct. This daycare is run by a money hungry man who says he does everything for the best of the children and families. That is far from the truth. Money drives him, not the happiness of the families. One would think that being the owner of a daycare, he would be concerned with stability and the happiness of his families, but that is far from the truth.
He is only concerned about one thing - getting your money. Current parents can testify to that. The recent snow storm shut the daycare down for 4 days, opening late on the 5th - yet he still demanded the full week's tuition. This was the only daycare shut for that many days! Teachers did not get inclement weather pay and their was no reduction in tuition for the parents. However, he was kind enough to waive the late fee for tuition being paid late due to the center not being open that Monday, which by the way said is even more of a reason for the parents to sign up for automatic draft - even when the daycare is closed he can still get your money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

A year ago, I gave this daycare center a 5 star glowing review. Today, my advice is to run away. The ONLY problem with this center is that it is owned by a man who makes ridiculous decisions. He's an accountant who owns Goldstar and has little else to do with it. He hires a Director to run things and hardly ever visits the center himself. Well, he has just fired the 5th Director in the 1 1/2 years that we've been there. Three of those Directors were all hired and fired within the last 10 months alone. And it is always a surprise when it happens. I've heard that in one instance, he called the Director at 10:00pm on a Sunday night and told her not to come in the next day. We, the parents, have absolutely no warning when it happens. You say goodbye to one beloved Director on a Friday only to return Monday morning to find a complete stranger running things.
I could believe that maybe there was some problem with the Director if it happened only once or twice, but most of these women have been extremely intelligent and competant. When the last woman was hired, I told her, ""I hope he doesn't do to you what he's done to the others."" and now he has! We're about to move on to our 6th Director in 1 1/2 years. That only leads me to one conclusion - that's it's not the Directors that are the problem, it's the Owner.
Goldstar Academy used to be the ideal daycare for us. It was a loving, nurturing environment in a price range that I could afford within 10 minutes from my job. Now I'm in the process of researching other centers and as soon as I find something, we're out of there.
