I have had a great experience with Brown and Glenn. We got all the paperwork done quickly to rent the house and then got the key code. Getting some maintenance done was delayed a bit but that was caused by me. We had some illnesses in the house so it was difficult to schedule people to come over. After all that was done the maintenance was done pretty quickly.
I’ve always gotten answers to my questions in a timely manner. Sandra and Abby have both been very sweet to deal with. Very nice in emails and great to talk to on the phone.
Overall our experience with Brown and Glenn has been pretty easy. We never rented before and they made this very easy for us. I’m thankful for that.

RUN is exactly right! Make sure you do your homework and read these reviews before renting with Brown and Glen (Charlotte office). When your business has more negative reviews than positive ones, something is WAY wrong. And I wish I would have known! I originally rented my house from Home Union (which was awesome) but Brown and Glen bought the property during my lease. Home Union was easy to work with, courteous and great business people. At Brown and Glen, it is the total opposite. The staff and manager are disrespectful, rude and have very little interest in assisting or helping their clients. Their "manager", Sandra has a serious attitude problem and is disrespectful, which is probably why they get such negative reviews. They are IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with, so if you have a problem, be prepared to not hear from them for weeks (no matter how many times you call or email) and when you do hear from them, they are extremely unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY from Brown and Glen if your looking to rent/lease a house. They are serious TROUBLE! If you don't believe me, go look at the reviews on Better Business Bureau, Yellow Pages, etc. and you will see the negative reviews out weigh the positives by A LOT! not even three stars for your business, shows a lot. You will be very disappointed if you try to do business with these people! Just wanting to help other people out and STAY AWAY FROM BROWN AND GLEN!! (You can thank me later).

I did not originally rent from this company. I am in SC and rented from a company called 10 minutes from my house that then sold to Brown and Glenn. I have contacted them several times about leaks that have been present since move in that have not been adressed by either company and have yet to hear back after 3 months of trying. You never get a real person on the phone either, it always goes to voicemail so they can say they'll "get back to you" and never do it. Can't just drive to the office now either since they're in NC.

RUN! Take time and read through the reviews for this company, and you will see everything you need to make a decision. I will try to keep it short. I rented a home managed by Brown and Glenn for a year. First, it took 3 months to resolve a simple maintenance request, 3 maintenance guys scheduled to come out and 2 of them didn't come at all. The real issue came when it was time to receive my security deposit refund. Now, if you read through a few reviews, you will see that this company has a Serious problem returning Security Deposits. Keep reading and I guarantee you'll be astonished. The condition I left the house was very good, with a few discrepancies such as writing left on the wall from my two year old (in two rooms), carpet that was cut up (valued at $150), and a few sockets needing to be replaced on two cabinets (MAYBE 10 a piece so $20). During the walk-through, the agent mentioned how neat everything was minus the aforementioned areas, and we agreed they will take out of the deposit what was needed to take care of the charges. Fast Forward, I received a Itemization list ending in me owing them $400 after taking the deposit of $1125. Before I even saw this list, I sent the company a courtesy e-mail reminding them of the General Statutes that protect tenant's security deposits. After they saw my e-mail, and realizing that I know my rights, this company called two of my phone's multiple times in a Desperate attempt to get in touch with me. This is the part that will astonish you. They told me to disregard the itemization list that was sent out, that they were revising it--all because they saw that I wasn't going to ignorantly sit by and let them rob me. This is where the corruption comes into play, they took off a made up charge of $578 and changed an $150 charge (to fix the cabinets I mentioned before) to $60! Wow! Look at how they tried to get over on me. Upon questioning them for another $750 charge they said they were charging me half the damage that a CARPENTER "quoted", note the emphasis on quoted. They took my deposit off of a quote, which the General Statute permits; therefore, we will be going to court. I've had experience with a landlord in court before, for some reason, there are those that think they can muscle the little guy and act it deception. Conclusively, this company is unprofessional, and they will find any reason to keep your deposit once you leave. Do yourself a favor and Run out of their office

I rented a home that I absolutely loved from Brown and Glenn for 3 yrs and in them three years I continually asked for my Carpet to be replaced because the tenant before me had a dog who messed the carpet up misaberaly. I also asked for screens for my downstairs windows which I never received. Needless to say in my 3rd year some lunatic decided to break into my house thankfully my oldest daughter was visting and scared him away. Would you know it took them 2days to come out and board up my window, not to mention the next 2weeks I continually had to call and call about when the physical window will be put in which took another week. The lack of urgency That took place after the break in that was the final straw! To add insult to injury so a month later on October 4 I call to inquire about my Security deposit and they informed me it was sent out on Sep 28 and I should have received it by now. Well here I am sitting at October 10 and still no refund of my security deposit! NOBODY SEEMS TO WANT TO HELP ME! I call about the same issue MY SECURITY DEPOSIT and now Sandra tells me to give it 10-13 business days before they will even call and stop Payment to issue me another check!!!!! Are you serious? This check is coming from a Charlotte address going to a Charlotte address it doesn't take 10-13 days for that! Now all of a sudden she can't stay on the phone going back and forth with me and if I would like to pay the $36 stop Payment fee then I can but remind you I'm not the one that put a $1000.00 check in the mail with no certified signature, tracking, or any other pertinent means of insuring receipt of my check so WHY WOULD I PAY THAT?????? Then she hung up on me!!!! What business professional conducts themselves in such a manner further more what company you know does business like this?????? Thank God I work in a customer service driven industry and will instruct my friends and family to stay far away from Brown and Glenn Realty!

Worst company ever! Beware! I am still waiting two months later to receive my security deposit back, I've called and left multiple messages even with the GM of who shows no care at all for customers. He is never available and is always gone early when I try and call him. The staff are clueless to any issues you have, and hey also asked me to pay a full months rent when my lease ended on the 15th of the month. So not only am I waiting on a security deposit but a prorated half of a months rent! Stay away from anything this company has to offer!!!! Worst customer service I have ever experienced!

Be creful with these guys - Very cheap

I would rather give a 0 instead of 2. I worked as executive and need a 3 bedroom town home. Very poor management and very poor response for maintenance calls. They also refused to return one full month rent deposit. They quote many items as damage where as there was no such damage. I am planning to initiate legal action against these guys.
I advise you better not pay last month rent and recover your deposit. They will keep sending legal notices without checking account frustrating you. If you want to be cautious and maintain your credit score, just avoid these guys. They are litigious and dangerous.

Be very very careful in working with these guys. You can contact me any time and I can explain

Awesome little apartment..

I love the location of my place and the price was just right but I will NEVER rent from brown and glenn realty again. They need to update their computer system or something b/c they keep sending letters stating that my rent is one price when on my month to month contract it is a totally different price...

Brown and Glenn Does Good Job

Brown and Glenn has been doing a great job for me in managing two properties. Amanda is super, always keeping me informed of repairs needed, emergenies, etc. I should have been using them a long time ago.

Brown & Glenn Realty

I have been working with Brown and Glenn as a sub-
contractor for approximately 2 years and it has been
a very pleasant experience. They are courteous,
professional and always very helpful. They respond
to homeowners' maintenance requests quickly and
always follow-thru until completed. As a contractor
they always provide me with the information and
guidance needed to complete assigned tasks. I would
recommend them highly to anyone.

Very helpful during my rental search...

After having not moved in several years, I was finally in a place where I was ready to move again. I searched rental ads on Craigslist, and Brown & Glenn has a lot of great properties listed there, and one in particular that I really liked and was ready to move forward with. I received very prompt, informative and courteous responses to my inquiries, which helped me greatly during the move-in process.

nice place to live with small yard.

With an anticipated move to Charlotte, we contacted Brown and Glenn. After working with one of their associates and looking at a few places, I am happy to say we moved into a nice house that meets all our needs and even has a small yard for our dogs. Thanks for all the help!

Don't rent from Brown and Glenn Realty

The customer service at Brown and Glenn Realty is entirely too lax. After I had requested work to be done on the rental, they promised the work would be done by the end of the week. Over a month later and many phone calls to their office, the work has yet to be done. Renter Beware: Run to a more reliable realtor.

Unprofessional, not helpful for first time home renters. The left had doesnt know what the right hand is doing. I waited 2 months before my maintenence request was attended to. They dont care about you, your just an address. The house was not prepared when I moved in and they had pictures that clearly showed the condition it was in. I sent my rent in early they still charged me a late fee because nobody knows what the heck is going on over there... Beware stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!! You might like the property but the service is not worth it.
