I bought a car from this dealership and it needed to be serviced with a major repair. I was nervous and did not know how the repairs would be paid for. I am a single dad that needed a dependable car. Part 1 of reviewMy wife and I came to independence mazda, which was and hour away from us, on our first free weekend in 2 months. We were looking to trade in my wife's 2013 Honda civic, which is in awesome condition and only has 50k miles on it. We were also looking to get another vehicle at or below 10k, that was a bit bigger, so that she could have more room, and lower monthly payments. My wife told them this on the phone before we came, and we were told to come see a 2013 ford escape, with a little over 60k miles, for 10k and some change. We finally get to their dealership, and sit down with a salesman, going over application details for about and hour and a half. Then, to our surprise someone else is outside test driving the vehicle we had called about and were there for. These people had arrived almost an hour after us, we saw them arrive. I mentioned how unprofessional this was to the sales man, who simply says, "hey, first come first serve" and I replied that we had been there first, but he was taking forever! My wife and I finally get to look at the vehicle, and find that it has numerous deep, wide scratches and dents all over it, but the salesman told us that it had not been in a wreck. This damage was extremely noticeable, yet photos of the vehicle on their website were careful to not show them. The extent of the damage leads me to believe it was more than wear and tear and that this salesman was lying to us. Still, we test drove the vehicle. Upon finishing the test drive, we learn that the previous drivers just purchased the vehicle. This still rubbed me the wrong way, but after seeing the damage to the vehicle, I wasn't inclined to purchase it anyway, so I wasn't too upset. The salesman tells us that they have another escape, in a more luxurious trim package, for only 1k more, or 11000. It was a nice looking vehicle, leather interior, and nice audio and interface. in the last week-EditStill nothing from Keffer - no one will pick up the phone to discuss this, and no one will call back- This is totally unprofessional - and as I said deceptive and unethical....I have contacted the BBB - to see if this can be resolved....Keffer responded to them with a falsehood....Which I have disputed - I again can not understand how they can not pick up the phone and return a call - and right the paperwork they submittedI was supposed to be a co-signer on a loan - it turns out they put my name first - I am the loan holder - Jay I don't know what you did but as far as I am concerned this is unethical - and probably illegal - I want this straightened out but not sure there is anything I can do - this dealership is the worst at calling you back - I called this morning went to a full voice mail box - goes to show they don't call back - called again was transferred to the finance manager - let's see how that goes - I would not recommend this dealership if they were the only Dodge dealership in the US - stay tuned for a follow up post letting you if (a) they returned my call and (b) rectified this
I have waited over 8 weeks to receive a Gap Insurance refund check from Steve Moore on South Blvd. I have called multiple times leaving message after message and even emailed with absolutely no response. I finally insisted on speaking to a person about it and was told she has been on sick leave and she would be cutting the check the following Monday. That was two weeks ago. Frustrated and so disappointed with a dealership that I have purchased three vehicles from. Terrible professionalism!
They made the vehicle purchasing process virtually seamless! Amazing team! I have never experienced the level of customer service that I received at Larry Jay! Lifelong customer!

Called ahead to verify availability of a vehicle advertised on their own website. Salesperson put me on hold to verify. Said yes. I made sure he understood we were driving nearly 100 miles with cash in hand to buy that vehicle. Told him we'd be there at 5pm. At 4:50 pm, we are literally 10 minutes away, he texts us that the vehicle has just been sold. Nonsense. We were lied to. They then try to sell us s different vehicle. Liars. Bait and switch. Plain and simple.

*****Think twice before buying here***** My experience in dealing with this dealership was extremely dishonest and unethical. The sales management team along with the financing team are all dishonest and are only in it to close the deal. They will try to play little games of the seat during the numbers process but it doesn't stop there, it continues in the finance office. They are truly your classic auto dealership, trying to see if they can outsmart you in the numbers game. I caught them into lies. Once when we were doing the numbers in the beginning to settle on a price, and again in the finance office. Then because I held them accountable they almost made a decision not to sell the vehicle to me because now the numbers did not work in their favor. NOTE! 1.When you settle on a price with this dealership, and a down payment, make sure you also settle on an APR. 2. If they tell you they're gonna throw in a free warranty, IT'S SIMPLY NOT TRUE!3. If they tell you they're going to throw in free gap insurance, IT'S SIMPLY NOT TRUE! This dealership tried to change the APR, hide the charges for the warranty and the gap insurance and lie to me right to my face. I demanded that they remove the charges from the financing agreement and held them accountable by providing free gap insurance and the warranty as they promised. All of a sudden neither one of them were free! And we were now discussing the cost of a warranty and the cost of gap insurance. LOL. AGAIN, this dealership is dishonest and unethical. So if you want to wonder whether you were taken advantage of? Or if they just thought you were stupid enough to buy their dumb deal, then purchase a car here. Otherwise, Your better off shopping somewhere else. P.s. This is not even the half of the issues I experienced with them. They should be ashamed of their bad business practices that end up with reviews like this.
