Although I regularly take my adopted dog for shots, sentinel, etc, every time I go they expect for me to pay $475 to have my dog's teeth cleaned & feel shamed cause I can't afford it. This is why more people don't adopt animals from the shelter. This office acts like only wealthy people should be allowed to own pets. If I had $475 to have my dog's teeth cleaned, I'd use it for my own dental care!! I'm sick and tired of feeling shamed every time I go for this reason. I treat me dog better than a lot of people treat their children. I'm not going back to this vet's office; I'm going to find some place else to take my dog to for shots, etc., where you don't have to be wealthy to have good healthcare for your pet!!
I have used Valley West Hospital for 7 years now. We started with 2 indoor rabbits. They worked with us and we were blessed with 10 healthy years from both rabbits. We recently had to put our cat, 5 yrs old, to sleep due to congestive heart failure. This was so unexpected and Dr. Issac (young one) and and his staff were extremely patient and caring through the whole process. Even with the subject of cost, they were wiling to ease us through tough decisions. In the end, she went peacefully and is in a better place.
I like that no appointment is needed. Life is so busy and their hours are so helpful in getting our animlas the treatment they need while working within our hectic life. The staff is kind hearted and works with the parent of the animals. I want to thank all of them for years of great service.
We are still blessed with our dog Henry and will continue to use the services of Valley West in the furute. If you live in the CHarleston area, I would check them out. They have our animals' best interest at heart.
