I recently fired SPPM as the property manager of my two rental properties for the following reasons:1.Extremely bad, often rude and condescending service to my tenants and myself.2.Not returning phone calls or emails for weeks at a time.3.Extremely unreliable, making promise after promise and doing nothing.4.Never taking responsibility for mistakes.5.Mishandling and ignoring maintenance issues the tenants reported.6.Not addressing maintenance issues in a timely manner causing repairs to be much costlier.7.Botched a move out inspection where tenant damages were not addressed, yet the tenant security deposit is returned without owner permission. In this case the company owner blamed it on an employee but still would not take responsibility and make it right.When I addressed these problems with owner of SPPM, Steve Miernicki (I encourage any current or potential customer to google his name), he would take no responsibility or he would promise action and not do anything. He would blame the problem on the tenant, the contractor, an employee etc. After so many problems, so many unfulfilled promises and general lack of trust in his ability and character, I had to fire him.Do yourself a favor, learn from my mistake in trusting SPPM with my property. Just stay away.

I have lived in Charleston for 27 years and never dealt with a more unprofessional company. I was cussed out over the phone and told to "leave if I didn't like it" after reporting black mold when I first moved in. It took three weeks and four attempts to actually get the job done. The drainage in the apartment is not up to date and allows GARBAGE DISPOSAL to run into both our the bathrooms tubs/showers. If you care about your living conditions, DO NOT rent from them!
