        Dr. Keffer is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and specializes in the non-operative/conservative treatment of patients with neck pain, low back pain, sciatica and various other musculoskeletal conditions. He completed medical school at Des Moines University and his residency at the University Hospitals of Columbia Presbyterian and Cornell. He did a spine/musculoskeletal fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital. Dr. Keffer emphasizes the importance of exercise and high-quality physical therapy in the rehabilitation of those with sub-acute and chronic neck and low back pain. Dr. Keffer also has training in spine injection procedures, as well as other procedures to treat musculoskeletal pain.

        Dr. Keffer is an excellent listener and communicator. He is thoughtful in his responses to the questions I ask. We work well together in a collaborative doctor-patient relationship. I respect and value Dr. Keffer's expertise and his humanity. He is patient and willing to explore options.
        Dr. Keffer's office staff and nurse are courteous and competent in all interactions. I appreciate the professionalism of everyone in the office.

        Dr. Keffer did not take care of me. He was unethical in his practice.

        Don't go here- they do not take care of their patients. I went in for a recurrent whiplash injury to see Dr. Keffer at the pain management center. My goal was to hopefully get trigger point therapy to fix the problem before my next backpacking trip to the Amazon for important research. The only reason I paid for health insurance for over a year was to have the pre-existing condition covered and to be taken care of, finally.
