1 slack, 3 jeans to be shortened. A woman pinned the front, did nothing to the back. The man told me the others did not need to be pinned. Picked up my jeans. On vacation in CO the next day, I put on the jeans all were to short, extra short in the back. Got home, went back, asked for the slacks/jeans to be repaired. The woman agreed to fix. Today picked up my jeans. The man told me I'd washed the jeans & they shrunk. I told him, I had not washed the jeans. He argued, wouldn't listen, became angry so I said, give me my jeans. As I walked towards the back door, he started to follow me & YELLED, "Don't ever come back". He threw both his arms up in the air, stepped toward me & shouted something I couldn't understand. I ran out. When I looked at my jeans, he made a mess of them. The original job the hem was even, the thread matched color. The repair job the hem was VERY uneven, stretched, puckered, thread DID NOT MATCH. OBVIOUS, awful sloppy job on PURPOSE. STAY AWAY
Friendly staff, excellent service, and they handle all of my tailoring needs from tuxedos to jeans.
She knows what she is doing. Fussy to the detail, a perfectionist, and a professional. May not be so marketing oriented but best you can find. If she cannot keep her word intiming, probably because she will not finish any work less than perfect, i do have a tolerance for that, well done Maria, i will keep coming over and over again. Thank you
Rude and nasty. Dress was not ready as promised. Would not take credit card or debit card. Guess they don't want the government to know how much they make each year. Customer service needs to be taught to some people! Just plain rude! Gave one star because I had to pick at least one star. -1 star. Jerks times two.
I took two dresses in the the stitch witch. One just needed a bit of fluff taken out (my wedding dress) and the other was about 3 sizes too big and I wanted them to take it in. They had my dresses for about 3 weeks. I went back in and she told me, not asked, to put the one she had taken in on first. I put it on and you could clearly see it was still 2 sizes too big. She's on the floor hemming another dress not really looking at me and tell me it looks great. I tell her no it's still way too big. She's telling me know and when I keep telling her it's too big she finally gets up off te floor and looks at me. She walks up to me and again says it looks great. Then pulls on the back of the dress and pulls it 3 inches off my body. Then says "Oh! You're right it is way too big." I say yes I know. She then proceeds to tell me I must have lost weight. I tell her no I have lost a pound and she says I must have. Then she tells me if I want them to take it in more I will have to pay her again. Now I've already paid $120 to get this dressed fixed. I tell her yeah that's not happening. I go and try my wedding dress on and it fits me like it did the day I bought it. It looks fine so I put my clothes on and go to leave. She again has the balls to tell me I must have lost weight. I then say "well then why does my other dress fit me like it did the day I brought it in?" She says "yeah I guess you are right.". So now I'm out $120 dollars and the dress is still 2 sizes too big. Their owner is a real piece of work.
Two words. Rude and Unprofessional. I came to pickup my dress an hour after the time they said it would be ready only to find that my dress had not even been touched and that I had to wait for them to do it in 20mins. Even though I left my dress there for 4 days, the alteration only took 20mins. The dress fits well but it was Maria's attitude that took the cake. She didnt even apologize for not having my dress ready and blamed it on other people not picking up their clothes on time even though I made it clear when I dropped it off that I needed the dress ASAP. She had a major attitude when I politely brought to her attention that it was an inconvenience. Only use this tailor if you like receiving attitude and don't mind your clothes not being finished on time.
I strongly discourage people from doing business with Stitch Witch. They were rude and messed up three dresses for my family.I wish we would have read these reviews before doing business with them, but we trusted the bridal shop that sent us there. It is noteworthy that the bridal shop has now fired Stitch Witch. After several months they still didn’t have my daughter’s wedding dress right. A former employee of Stitch Witch was used and she finally got the dress right. It was very stressful for my daughter and resulted in lots of last minute work.My other daughter was the maid of honor. Stitch Witch did a lousy job on her dress (it is crooked) and tried to charge extra because they supposedly misquoted it originally. We had to buy a new one at the last minute. We shouldn’t have offered to pay anything, but to be gracious we agreed to split the difference. After that I think they messed up the dress on purpose or just quit working on them. They didn’t complete my wife’s dress. She also had to buy another one at the last minute. Very stressful, and expensive.Throughout the entire wedding process they were the worst vendor we dealt with, by far. They caused an enormous amount of unnecessary stress and wasted time and ruined one dress.I encourage you to start early with your alterations, and to go somewhere else.
SAVE YOUR MONEY. LOST IMPORTANT CLOTHING. DON'T SPEAK/UNDERSTAND ENGLISH! RUDE!All of the alteration business in Charleston were busy with graduation alterations, so I decided to give Lee Alterations a try...I could not have been more disappointed. Mr. Lee was more than willing to take my graduation dress and fix it when I dropped it off on Monday. He happily offered to expedite the process seeing as graduation was the following Saturday. I was thrilled. I went back to pick the dress up that Saturday and was left standing in the lobby for 20 minutes while I waited for Mr. Lee and his wife to attempt to find my dress. Finally, they pulled me to their back room to help look...no luck. His wife yelled at me and laughed at me, when they saw the panic on my face and I began to cry. They lost my graduation dress a week before graduation! At College of Charleston it is tradition for girls to wear white dresses, so you can see my dilemma with graduation one week away and I needed a perfect white dress that didn't need alterations. Mr. Lee gave up very quickly looking for my dress and threw $100 in cash to me to reimburse me for my loss. A few days later he called and said he found it, the client just hadn't returned it yet. Mr. Lee ignored my calls, so finally I walked in to discuss the situation, hoping he could call the client and explain the important of them returning it. Much to my surprise he said, "What are you doing here? It's done." It has now been two weeks and that client has yet to drop off my dress. Mr. Lee and his wife do not understand nor speak English very well.
Monique has been doing all of my alternations since I was a very young man. Her work is always awesome. She is quick and will help you out in a jam if she can. You can always count on her to help and she is very discreet, especially when your dog eats your 600.00 Brooks Brothers robe and she tells know one in your family about it. I would highly recommend Monique!
Great reparations and fast. There are so many racks of clothing that they are working on but they still have the time to do mine. Great people!
