Hi. I would highly recommend Tar Heel Temps if you want to get into UNC at Chapel Hill. They know all of the departments well and took the time to get to know me personally before placing me in a position there. They really wanted to make sure it was a good fit for the department I work for and for me. They also ran the same background check on me that they run on their permanent staff. While I had nothing to worry about from my past records, as a single mom it was comforting to know their process is that thorough so I feel safe knowing my co-workers have gone through the same level of checking (other temp agencies I have worked for didn't do that.) They also gave me an orientation to the University that was a great way for me to get to know the place - I had no idea how big the University really is and about all of the job opportunities available until I talked to Tar Heel Temps.
I wanted a temp job at the university (UNC) so I checked around with various temp agencies in the Chapel Hill area. Despite my strong credentials, vast experience, and impeccable references, I had no success 'getting my foot in the door' at UNC through those other agencies. They took my application, but no one even interviewed me to hear what I have to offer.
Someone then recommended Tar Heel Temps to me. I went to their office and filled out an application, expecting the same runaround I got from those other temp agencies. Tar Heel Temps not only welcomed my application, but they promised to review it against their open job orders to see if there was a match for my skills. They called me back within two days and had several positions for me to choose from. They were professional at every stage of the process, and friendly too - I didn't feel like a 'commodity' to them like I did at those other agencies. Tar Heel Temps treated me like a real person with valuable skills that they needed in their workforce. Based on my family situation, I am not looking for a permanent position. I am now on my third assignment through Tar Heel Temps and have only great things to say about them, and the departments for whom I have worked on these temp assignments.
No Regrets, Thom W.
