I have read the other reviews and wanted to add mine because my experience has been quite different. I have found the building manager to be very responsive whenever I have had interactions with him. I enjoy the quiet calm atmosphere of the building and especially like having a washer, dryer and dishwasher in the apartment. I has made my life much easier. I don't think you can get a better apartment for this price.
Poor management. You are treated rudely. They will try to take as much of your deposit as possible when you leave. Never ever sign a lease with them. Poorly built apartments... And VERY poor management.
Appliances are so old. The apt is heated and cooled using a window unit from 1993. My heat bill in winter is OVER $100 for a 350 square foot apt. The Land lord expects you to keep it on all the time. Hallways look terrible, filthy and nasty. Apartment was fake cleaned before I moved in. Promised things would get fixed. Carpet wasn't cleaned. Land lord NEVER answers phone calls. Even after you leave a message you have to call back 4-5 times before anything happens. The land lord enters apartments with no notice even though the lease says otherwise. I found out from past tenants, you hardly get any deposit back when to leave. She charges $60 for cleaning carpets and $60 for cleaning regardless if the apt is clean. Even though my apt was filthy when I moved in. I'm so afraid I wont get my $500 deposit back I cant even go to the tenant union. The owner is also has a lawsuit for fraud!! Google "hardwick" and lawsuit and it comes up!!!
Do not rent here dirty infested with roaches hookers druggies and manager doesnt fix anything. Lived here from 7/12 to 3/14. Worst mistake of my life couldnt afford to move. Horrible.
I have had a great time here so far this year. I really enjoy the room setup and the amenities provides.
Illini Tower is absolutely the best place to live on campus. It's close to everything, and the service and accommodation is fantastic. People are really friendly and welcoming. It's a good mix of freshmen and upper class men, so everyone can fit in. Also, I should mention the weekly cleaning service. Food here is probably the best on campus. If you are looking for a place with the best quality, this is the place for you : )
Thus far I have enjoyed my stay at IT and through the process of being an IT guide I met a lot of great people. So far it's a great place to stay to my knowledge, it's a very clean building unlike most apartments and dorms around the campus and most of the staff are very polite and helpful. It is also within reasonable walking distance of the main quad and if you need to go farther there are bus stops not to far from here.
Rooms are very nice. My nephews stayed there a year and my son did a summer program there. IT is gorgeous however my son wanted to have the traditional experience and stay in the six pack. He loves it. If it were me, I would be at IT.
I really like IT. The food is great, especially brunch on the weekends. I think how social the building is depends on the floor but the people are generally friendly and the RAs are really nice.I definitely think its one of the best private dorms for what you're getting. The new game room is great. And we get a bunch of dorm events, with free prizes.
loved it. would like to stay longer, but graduation calls. really like the new game room and movie theatre. food was plentiful and menu changed alot. new manager came in and is friendly. I would stay here again.
