Well let me start by saying... Food: Excellent.....Spinach and mushroom quesadilla....Loved it!! Service: I had 2 different waiters...and They were great !! My Bill came to 10.00, and I tipped 4.00, 40 %. I am unsure how to rate the place better....I'll do another Rating, after I eat there again, this weekend or this next week. I would love for this to be my new Fave place...I have a friend, it is her favorite Rest. but this location opened 2 days ago. Feeling~~~~~ is where I was a bit unsure...Blonde woman may of been a manager, standing around...I felt a little left out...as for the Restaurant being new...the couple next to me , was asked how they liked the food, and was personally treated with questions as to their opinion, and since I was by myself..she looked at me...but never asked me how my food was, and I was going to tell her how excellent the food was....But I was not asked...I felt ignored, possibly because I was in house cleaning attire, and slipped out for a quick bite...before resuming my deep cleaning...The next time I go in, I'll be better dressed, and I think if this was the case....The Manager, or whoever she was needs to realize...you can't judge a book by it's cover. So we will see....

From Business: Family owned and operated Italian restaurant with traditional Italian cuisine, Lasagna and Chicken Parmigian, and some eclectic items as well, Pan Grilled Salmon …
It is true that they charge way too much for condiments. I almost choked when I got my bill and was charged $3.50 for a side of guacamole that my daughter ate about a teaspoon out of. And yes, it is true that they don't care to hear your complaints about the charges. Condiments used to be free with your meal and with some meals they are served on the plate (will never understand their system). I have also eaten at other El Nopel locations and they DO charge for extras as well. When this happened to me with the guacamole, I just tipped $3.50 less than he charged me LOL. I Two can play at any game ;). I would never stop eating there because the fact of the matter is that this restaurant is EXCELLENT. I have never had anything that was less than delicious. The service is wonderful and you never wait very long for your food no matter how busy they are. They also have half off deals on a regular basis which makes eating there quite a bargain. This is my favorite mexican restaurant!
The food has always been great,but.... It is wise management skills that it is lacking. A place of business that wants to keep customers will work with them. What we experience was a little minor but should be noted. When we arrived we showed our waitress our coupon. She glanced down and practically ignored it. As we paid for our meal we presented the coupon and was told it expired that all the coupons that were out were expired. Told the cashier we showed it to our waitress when we arrived. She did say she would ask the manager to OK it, but he said he would not accept it . Told her if the waitress knew, like you, that you had expired coupons, why didn't she notify us when we presented it . If she would have told us we would of left and went elsewhere to the place where we had a valid coupon. I told her to tell the manager we will not be back. It is not all about the money but the principal and business skills.
I love this place!!! It is very close to my house so that is a plus but I would not mind to drive farther to get there. It can be a tad inconsistent at times. Sometimes things are much more spicy than others but I don't mind spicy so I am not bothered by this! I usually order the Enchiladas Supremas and they are fantastic. Many other Mexican places have something similar on their menus but none come close to being as good! I also love the white sauce they serve in addition to the salsa with their chips. It is similar to a ranch sauce but definitely much better than ranch, and it is complimentary!!
Just moved back to the "ville" and I heard this place was good, but I was VERY disappointed. The cheese con queso was"velveeta" like....where is the real deal in Louisville? I need to know!! Had the bison burrito....liked the sauce (mole like) but EVERYTHING else fell short. On a good note, they carry Pacifico beer. Also, the person that took my order had bad teeth and too many piercings and tattoos.....gave an appearance of being very dirty.
This was our first meal here and found everyone very friendly. We loved the food. I had the fajita chimichanga that was huge and delicious and I had a top shelf Margarita made with Number Juan that was most likely the best margarita I have had in any of the local mexican restaurants we visit. We will definitely be back. The price is right in line with other local restaurants and I feel we got our money's worth.
I love this restaurant! The service is ALWAYS excellent, the food is always delicious. The staff is wonderful and really caters to us every time we go, and we go alot because of that. The only thing this restaurant is missing is an outdoor patio/eating area, that way guests can enjoy a cigarette with their dinner and margaritas. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
They opened a Taco Tico Franchise about 3 blocks from Taco Bell in New Albany. The food is not much better than Taco Bell except that they serve black olives and green onions which is a plus for me. Taco Bell took olives off the menu 20 years ago and green onions about 2 years ago. The restaurant stays packed. It is a throwback to the 80's for me- but it is only average.
Located in the former Bahama Breeze building, Chuy's has a menu as good as any Tex-Mex eatery in town. Service was good and the food was delivered to the table hot and flavorful. Good size portions with some kick if you want it via their range of sauces and dips. Plenty of eclectic stuff on the walls for your visual entertainment.
