All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
My wife and I recently moved to Tallahassee from Tampa after purchasing her a new Lexus IS250. This was the first new "luxury" car we had ever purchased, and the largest purchase ever besides our home. Not but two months of owning the car, I hit a deer one evening. Needless to say I was grateful for only two dents, but they were located on extremely difficult locations over the wheel well and back right door frame, both on creases. I was extremely skeptical Precision Dent Removal could help due to the location, but I had seen Jeremy's work and he insured me they could repair them. So needless to say, I had high expectations. I also had a 'welcome' to Tallahassee door ding from a beat up mini-van who parked two inches from the car in a grocery store parking lot (Next time I'll be waiting...). I missed the major door ding on the front wheel well, and assumed no one had gotten out on that side since it was only two inches apart. WRONG! Once I got home and the wife saw it, I was in deep doo doo. This one was extremely noticeable due to the location once again on the front left quarter panel right on a crease. This one I thought for sure would not be repairable, and I was extremely concerned they could improve but not completely repair. All three dents were completely removed and look as if they never happened! The Lexus is back to it's glorious starfire pearlescent beautiful body! Have complete faith in Jeremy and his professional staff. I would recommend them to anyone who has dents, dings, or damage without paint removal. They are consummate professionals and will get word of mouth recommendations for life from me. I plan on returning with my prized 1995 300ZX Twin Turbo for some additional work. THANK YOU Jeremy for getting me out of the dog house with my wife!!!! Mike
Went in to look at the Nissan vehicles. Pretty much had made up my mind on a Ford Flex or Toyota. Branden was my salesman and he took his time to go over each vehicle I might have an interest in. Last vehicle I looked at was the 2012 Quest. I actually like it but thought I would never get a good price on both vehicles I was trading in. For some reason, over the last 12 years I have never bought a vehicle in Tallahassee. The deals were always better out of state. Anyway, Kraft gave me a great price on the new vehicle and $3,000 more than any other dealer on the trade-ins I had. I really wanted the Flex but the additional money for the Flex wasn't worth it. I took the Quest and I absolutely love this vehicle. I have owned 6 different Nissans in the past and if this vehicle is as reliable as the other ones I have owned, I will be totally satisfied. My only question is their service department. At this point I am just not sure about it. Already had one problem with the installation of an option. I ended up speaking to Chris Kraft and bingo the problem was resolved. He also gave me a free loaner while they fixed the vehicle. I just hate going into talk to Mr. Kraft over every little problem. So far I am very happy with the dealership and Brendan the salesman and I would buy another Nissan from Kraft.
Looking for the highest quality results? Visit Precision Dent Removal. I am very picky about the appearance of my cars and have had work done at other paintless dent repair shops when I lived in another part of the country. Precision Dent Removal technicians take pride in their work and deliver the best results by far that I have ever experienced. Jeremy and his team have worked on three of my cars. My silver car had a nasty crease dent just above the rear wheel. Those types of dents can be very difficult to repair. It took a couple of hours but Jeremy made it DISAPPEAR. Another car had a dented hood. Precision Dent Repair made it look like new. They also fixed the annoying parking lot door dings on all the cars. These repairs were done at a fraction of the cost of a body shop. As an important bonus the superior factory baked on finish was preserved on the cars. I will be back whenever I need paintless dent repair work done.
I used Jeremy a few years ago when my husband's car was dented by a motorist in Destin. He did an amazing job for such a great price. The dent was literally gone. Recently a ladder fell over on my new car. My car went from looking great to looking awful. The worst of the dents was just above my back seat door, right where the metal curves. It was pretty significant. My husband said, "No one can "fix" this dent. We will have to get the whole area replaced in order for it to look good again." I was a little skeptical myself. However, I called Precision Dent Removal and spoke with Jeremy. He assured me that it would look perfect. And guess what? It does. My husband is still in shock. We will always use Precision and I will tell all my friends to go if they are in need of work such as this. Thanks, guys!!
Hands down the best place in town. I have taken my cars to a multitude of places here in town and after finding Newman's I wont go anywhere else. Great example of their service:Last summer, my A/C broke. I took it to six places, all six told me it would be over a thousand dollar repair. I didn't have the money, so I drove all summer long with no A/C. Life was not fun. This summer, I took it to Newman's on a friend's recommendation. They pop the hood, say "there is a small part that is a common problem with this model. Let me try that first." Fixed it. Five minutes, $60 later and I had working A/C. They didn't charge me labor and even topped my Freon for free! They just can't be beat.
I bought an old Chevy S10 pickup truck and it had a problem of shutting off after a few hours of driving. I had other people look at it, and replace pretty much every sensor on the motor but Eli found the problem right away, it was the Fuel Pump and sensor. When he pulled it out it had turned brown with age and it had paper wrap around the intake of the pump. Which when I saw it, it made sense, the paper floated around and when I hit a bump or turned a corner sharply the motor shut off, when I let it set a few minutes it would start back up. I wouldn't take my truck to anyone else and I highly recommend him!
I went to kraft nissan not with the intenetion of purchasing a vehicle that day .i really was just looking at the rogue. I new I wanted either the rogue or the honda crv but as this was my first trip to the nissan store i just wanted some info so I could compare the two.Thats when i met one of the best salesman I have ever came across ,his name is Harry Lee.Harry was not pushy and he showed a genuine interest in helping me. The staff at Kraft also showed a willingness to wowrk with me on price something that the folk opver at honda were not willing to do for me.Thanks Harry.

I just want to add my $ .02 about the outstanding service that I have gotten from Rodney (Newman) over the past many years. He and all of his employees have always treated me with courtesy and professionalism. I was inspired to write this after reading Ebony's comment below. I have taken several of our family's vehicles to Rodney and his folks have always identified the problems early on and repaired my vehicles to my satisfaction. I strongly recommend taking your car or truck to Newman's. SALUTE!!!!! Steve YarbroughMSG, US Army (Retired)
just a couple days ago, someone hit my car while it was parked and left a pretty nasty dent and a bunch of scratches. As a college student I'm not exactly made of money, but I wanted to make sure that my car was fixed and done right. Despite the terrible placement of the dent and scratches, Tony did an amazing job with fixing it! I couldn't be more relieved. And it's actually affordable. I'm definitely recommending this guy to all my friends because he really does take care of you and doesn't give you all BS most mechanics give you
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
