Don't blink or you will miss it. This little business ran by a couple, does most of their business by delivery, but you can eat in, but onl. It sits a couple miles east of hwy 169 & Rockford Rd., just past the cement underpass on the right. It only holds about 8 people. It is in an old gas station, has an orange roof. It is great food! The couple are very friendly, I have taken several people there and they are always supprised, they say they would never have ever stopped but, it is really really good food! I would highly recommend it!!!
Tasty and generous portion Take-Out or Delivery Chinese food. Our family is addicted to Eddie Cheng's because we consistently receive delicious food, delivered usually within 30 minutes and still piping hot. We always have to add Hot and Sour Soup & Pork Fried Rice to our regular favorites. If you order the "large" portions for the menu items; you will have enough for at least two meals. Their delivery people are always courteous and we have never had a mistake on our order. Look for the coupons in the Value Pak.
The food is good, and if you like sushi, there's plenty to choose from, better than many buffets in the area. And their Habachi is good too, for what they offer. Their better than many places in this area. But I have to say that some people commenting here just don't tip worth a damn, I've often seen HUGE 20+ plus families drop a dollar on the table! Thus the servers who sometimes have to really knock themselves out for groups like that (who abuse the heck out the place) try and speak up once in a while.
This place is like a trip to the past, with all the Americanized Chinese food of our youth. Egg Foo Yong is crispy on the outside, silky inside. My personal favorite is the Hunan sauce, real rich. Orders can be personalized for any veggies, MSG or nuts you may not like. Anything with shrimp is great. Moo shoo with pancakes to die for. The place is a little run-down, but hey - they don't speak English in the kitchen, they're still all Chinese, and they are all eating the food!!!
I have been going to the Yangtze for over the last 20 plus years and since the first time I tried their sesame shrimp I have yet to find another restaurant that even comes close to creating a dish that pales in comparison. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for very good Chinese food. Since I have moved, down to the Jordan area I don’t get up there that much but every now and than I make the journey and drive the 30 plus miles just for their food for it is that good!
The fast service and tasty food at a reasonable price makes this a lunch favorite. The cashier keeps everyone moving quickly, both customers and cooks, and the cooks work at a frantic pace to keep the orders coming while you watch. The buffet style wok is a nice touch too. A few tables in a dimly lit alcove (no glaringly bright florescent lights here) is available that isn't too bad but most orders are to go. Not fancy, just good food at a reasonable price.
This was my first visit and I must say the food was pretty good for the price. My biggest concern was how rude the server was. She wasn't very helpful with my questions about the menu and had a terrible attitude the whole time. To top it off they over charged me by $3 and when I brought it to my servers attention I just got even more attitude. Not friendly at all there. Customer service was the worst I've ever experienced in the Minneapolis area.
I have ate at all the surrounding places in the area, the only one that beats this one is on 42 and bloomington ave, however they do not deleiver I highly recoomend the sweet and sour chicken, wantons are good however they have a semi sweet taste. I do not care for there chow mien. They always deliever super fast but they do charge a fee. Lunch specials are great priced and come with a lot of food.
Great family-owned and operated restaurant. The lo mein is excellent - not like your typical greasy lo mein from other restaurants. Everything is made-to-order, fresh as it gets. The chicken wings are amazing - perfectly crispy skin and delicious. I also love that you can customize anything to get it spicy. My husband loves the hand-wrapped cream cheese wontons and pot stickers are my favorite.
I'm very undecided about Habachi but they are close to me when we're looking for a quick dinner. The service usually has a language barrier as for the food it's always like a hit or miss. We've enjoyed it enough to know when to come (dinner) but it's still just more seafood. As for the atmosphere it's not as large as Teppanyaki just a few miles away.
