I stayed here Jan 2009 - Jan 2010. I chose the place based on the location next to Brushy Creek trails. Unfortunately, that's about all this place has going for it. Let's start with the staff: that's where I should've trusted my instincts when I looked at the place. Cold, stingy leasing and business center. Cold, purse-lipped manager - Jennifer (or as she likes to call herself on the occasions she provides free popsicles: ""community leader"" - HA!) Leasing agent okay, but clearly phony-acting. Then when I moved in, the place was dirty - I noted it but still had to clean everything myself from the dust-fan blades to the bathtub to the balcony closet. Then I noticed parking was an everyday battle. The mail center was often overflowing with trash, and poorly lighted. Here's a thing that may sound good, but it wasn't: they had some major maintenance project strung along nearly all year: from painting to re-roofing: what little peace and parking the place had was that much more worse. One of the most outrageous things was that the pool was closed practically the ENTIRE summer, and this on one of the hottest summers on record. It was actually brown and closed off most of the spring and summer 'until further notice'. When I moved out, there was no one available for the walk-through and despite working all day to leave the place spotless in order to recoup my $150 deposit (believe me, I left it cleaner than when I moved in, and I have always received 100% of my deposits), I received a bill for $700 for a stain they supposedly found in the carpet. This is totally their style - they will avoid you, and avoid accountability for everything, and then when they can get away with it, they will screw you over. I should've made them do the walk-through with me. Long story short, I overpaid for an apartment, and some basic amenities that were very sub-par. Then I was shanked by the mean-spirited management staff one final time as soon as I was gone. Avoid this place! (Besides, it's prone to flooding.) \n\n
By far the worst place I've ever lived.
This might be a ok place to live if you're on the top floor, but if you're planning on living below somebody, you definitely don't want to live here. The carpeting is low grade with no padding. Not only can every step someone makes above be heard clearly, it shakes the apartment. God forbid you have someone above you with kids or a dog. The girl above us gets up at 6:00am every morning, and it always wakes us up. The pool is always overrun with people who don't seem to live here, smoking cigarretes and drinking beer all day and night on the weekends. This place is cheap for the size of the apartments, so it brings in very low-class tenants. If you can afford an apartment complex that is a bit higher per square foot, you'll be much happier than being here.
Don't ever drop rent into their dropbox... it is always overflowing, and it is very, very easy for someone to stick their hands in and grab a bunch of envelopes.
We're friendly with a few of our neighbors, and they all have the same issues/concerns I described above. You've been warned.
