Renting for a couple years now, never had a single problem with them. Only leaving g because we bought a place.
My daughter is currently renting a unit at Willow Brook Apartments from Asset Management (AM). Lindsey and 2 men from AM knocked at her door, they did not hear them knock thus the individuals let themselves in the apartment. My daughter works graves, thus she was asleep and woke up to Lindsey & 2 men standing over her bed. They said they were changing her mattress from a twin to a queen for a tenant that is moving in this fall. My daughter explained that she did not want to have her mattress changed as all her bedding is for a twin & she had paid in full to rent until July 31st. Lindsey got upset & left the queen mattress on the couch. I called Lindsey & what should have been a very easy conversation and fix was not. Lindsey got very upset and said "we can come into the apartment any god damn time we want to and if we want to leave a mattress in the front room we can." I explained to her that was not the case & they would need to either come pick it up, move it to the vacant room or we would place it outside the apartment. Lindsey said, "If you put it outside the apartment your daughter will be buying a new mattress" I then told her that yelling & swearing was unprofessional. She said a few other unprofessional things and hung up.We have rented a year from AM & had a myriad of problems. When we called they are unresponsive. Example, a sink that would not drain, AMs response was buy draino. My daughter had just arrived so if it was a clog, she did not do it. To resolve the matter we looked at the sink & it actually was NOT clogged. The drain plug was broken off in the plugged position & had to be replaced. The examples go on & on.I have never worked with such an unprofessional business. AM knows if they ignore request/complaints & threaten with law suits and/or eviction, you will resolve them yourself and/or allow them to do what they want. I finally had to draw the line at this mattress issue. Lindsey's unprofessionalism, swearing and threats crossed the line.
I will have to agree with previous post about this company. The one star is more than they deserve and other reviews are accurate. This company does not care about you, it is only about the money. I am surprised to see I was given 45$ back from my 300$ deposit. 150$ taken for removal of personal items as well as repair paint for problems I had listed when I firat moved in due to prior renters... disgraceful management.
I lived in one of their apartments for almost 5 years. If I had a problem with the house, they would send someone out quickly and take care of the problem. The people at SCPM were always very friendly and very helpful.
My husband and I moved to Cedar City to attend Southern Utah University about two and a half years ago. We found an affordable apartment with Asset Management and decided to move in. Life has been nice in the apartments we rent from till as of a few months ago. Repairs have been needed on a few items from normal wear and tear so we've contacted them and did what was asked. We truly are great tenants. We pay rent on time, keep the apartment clean, are quiet neighbors ... well, I cannot figure how they think treating those who keep them in business terribly is acceptable. Unfortunately, everyone I know whom has done business with them has had similar TERRIBLE experiences. Well every time we have sent in a request for repairs (which has been about a handful of times) they scream down our throats. Debbie Forsyth, the owner of asset management, is a NASTY B****. She is prissy, sarcastic, fake, mean, disrespectful ... she has caused me and my husband so much anger and frustration because they are unwilling to fix repairs made from normal wear and tear. She's screamed at me a handful of times because I ask for explanations on why they will not repair items. I am at my end with Asset Management today because we have an issue with our fridge which has been defaulty since we moved in and today DEBBIE hung up on me because I was asking for an explanation on why they will not repair the appliance and to explain their contract. She yelled saying "this conversation is over". No explanation. No sympathy for our frustrations. F YOU DEBBIE AND THE HORSE YOU RIDE ON.
Asset Management appears to be a predatory and difficult business to deal with. They have no integrity and opportunistically abuse good customers. What a business model. I do not recommend that you do any business with them whatsoever. Stay away.
Very poor business practices! One of their maintenance men is a convicted violent criminal and was recently charged with burglary as well. I would strongly advise that anyone considering using this company reconsiders! You, your family, and your belongings will not be safe with them!
I rented from Asset Management from May 2009 to October 2012. They are by far one of the worst companies I have EVER dealt with. Almost no maintenance requests went through. In my apartment complex there were two dumpsters, one was full of large items so the garbage truck wouldn't take it. I complained to them every week for THREE MONTHS. The only time they ever came by, was to inspect my apartment as I was leaving. My apartment had severe water damage on three occasions, none of which were my fault, and after I moved out I was asked to pay $130 in "cleaning". That apartment was spotless. Asset Management are dishonest, rude, and not worth anyone's business. I would not recommend this company to even to people I hate
Please, Please, Please do NOT touch this "business" with a ten foot pole. We rented from Asset for 7 years, 2 years in one house and five in another. Three years into our second rental we asked if we could pay weekly. Debby and the home owner agreed. We had several maintenance issues that were completed ignored. My husband did 95% of the maintenance (luckily he is a maintenance mechanic.) Debby is a horrible person to deal with. Her attitude is cruel and unpredictable. My husband was informed that the factory he has worked for was shutting down and he would be laid off after almost 10 years of employment. The news spread quickly through our small town and I believe Debby got word of it. Eleven days after the announcement of the lay offs, the owner wanted to see the house (for the first time in 5 years.) We were given two hours notice and had no problem allowing him to inspect the house hoping he was going to fix some serious maintenance issues in the home. He inspected our home, took pictures, told my husband and I we needed to request maintenance for the issues. Debby stood there with a stern look on her face as if this was the first time she had heard of any issues. The owner drove away and Debby served us with a 3 day eviction notice unless we paid over three THOUSAND dollars. She said it was late fee's for the past two years that we were on the payment schedule. We have since learned that late fee's should be assessed on a monthly basis with a statement being sent to us monthly. That never happened. We packed up our home and young children in 24 hours and left the house. We stayed in a hotel for 2 weeks while trying to find a home. Debby gave us a horrible recommendation and said we were late often with our rent and that we had pets. Nobody wanted to rent to us. PLEASE do not rent from Debby, don't have her manage your property and don't do repairs for her. She had a plumber come and fix a leaking pipe under our driveway. We ran into him a month later and he said he was never paid for the job he'd completed. Debby and Asset Management are very shady, dishonest and are disrespectful to their tenants. We were so confused with the situation and with a 3 day eviction notice, we were scared and unable to seek legal help. I have looked at their website and they are renting the house we lived in for $200 more than we paid a month. I am smelling a greedy rat!
