First off, Bubba's new hours are Thursday-Saturday 11-8. It is Family Owned and Operated. My family and I have been wanting to try this place and finally we got the chance. We drove up to the building which is a small white house and gravel parking lot. We arrived around 3pm and there were 4 other vehicles. We walked into the house which was filled with race car memorabilia and a gentleman at the counter where you place your order. The place was nice and cozy and people came and went with to go orders. I ordered the 1/4 pound burger with cheese, lettuce, tomatos, onions pickles, fries and a drink. The burger was delicious, very tasty and juicy. The meat was not dry and the vegetables were fresh. The french fries were cut just right and nice and warm. Most burger joints seem to think that they have to make a huge, over powered meat patty with an oversized bun ect....Bubba's burgers are just right and filling. They serve you in a basket and the burger is wrapped in white paper, so you don't make a mess. The staff was very friendly and seemed to know most customers that walked in. They seem very LOYAL to their customers. They also serve chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and I think I even saw a burrito on the menu. My family and I like to find the best burger joints and we've frequented many. I would have to say this burger is by far one of the best I've ever had.

I had lunch here today and it was great!!! The burgers are good and juicy (slightly greasy but not bad). They are thick patties ( my favorite!) and well seasoned. The fries are limp not crunchy but I like them. They remind me of my grandma's fries. The service was excellent and all the ladies wo…
I have been going here for 48 years and Old Joe (Phyliss' Dad) fed my mother and her friends back when his hamburgers were a nickel back in the 1940's. It is still the go to place for the very best (not the biggest) burger in all of Bexar County. Me and my entire family love Joe's and love that …
What an incredible experience was to find this amazing burger joint. I have tasted my favorite burger ever, and have come back again and again to also have the fish. The service was outstanding. Definitely recommend it.

I'm surprised to be entering only the second review for this place. In a town that loves its burgers, this chain has come to town and delivered a burger that puts most local favorites to shame. Quality ingredients and a staff that shows it cares about the product and the customer add up to an …
I've been here only twice, today was the 2nd time. i had another joint I liked, and never came here. But one day I came, and I regret not coming here sooner. I've had the burger only here, and it's so tasty. I came back again , it was so good. Now I don't think i'm going to be going back to…
Hey Dawg! Don't know what kind of mood you and your friends were in when you ate there, but I tell you, all in my party of 4 thought the food was great. Your comment is what made me go running to try Bubba's out; to see for myself! I had the Cheeseburger Combo, consisting of Huge Burger, huge bun, with cheese, mayo, chili, pickles and onions, plus an extra one, and unsweeten ice tea - free refills. (Yes I WAS HUNGARY!).... My son had the chili cheese dog combo, plus and extra one also, with onion rings and coke; two friends each had the hamburger combo with the usual condiments, plus fries (good ones, not HEB Orida type), very good and tasty. We would go back again, also recommend it. Chili did have the "can taste" but it was still good..........(haven't found a chili yet that tastes like the kind we cook in Lexington, NC; nor the Lexington BBQ - I just can't get use to the smokey taste in the TX BBQ)... but it's good if not too smokey to me. Come on, give it another chance. Everyone I told about your review, there in the restrauant, couldn't believe it, they thought I was wrong, etc., thinking it was another Bubbas.......... SEEMS THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD LIKES TO EAT THERE.........By the time we got through with our order, people were lined up to the front door and around tables............
Wow Dwag I too tried it because I had only heard good things about it then read your review. I got the chili fries and I have to tell you that chili is pretty damn good. It was canned but I didnt see any big signs promoting any "homemade" chili. I am pretty sure their burgers are what they are proud of and with reason!!! My husband got the double meat cheese burger combo and it was fabulous!!! You get a generous helping of fries also. my 2 kids got the jr combo I wouldnt call 3.50 pricey for a kids meal!! I dont think you can go anywhere else where you can get that kind quality of food for so cheap! The people were SUPER friendly when we walked in the girl behind the counter greeted us warmly and several people including the owner told us all thank you when we left. My 2 boys loved the Nascar theme but i loved the view outside the huge picture window in what the owner called "her room" We will definitely be going back for years to come!
I ordered online. There were two people in line when I arrived. I walked up to the counter next to the sign for online orders (I'm supposed to be able to skip the line). Then, two more customers walked in. All of the walk-in customers were helped before I was. The employee who helped me did not make sure the other employees knew I was there. I waited 15 min. after I arrived and I already got there after the website said my food would be ready. The manager paid more attention to the fry guy who was already busting his behind than the guy at the counter not doing anything. Unacceptable. I've had a few experiences like this at this location. The food's always delicious. I just wish they would put the fries in a separate bag if they're just going to dump them in. I know it's a trademark thing, but I hate it.
I am born and raised in Chicago. I used to have to go home once a year to fill up on my favorite foods from there. After eating at this place I can have my favorites all the time. It is definitely a taste of Chicago!! I have not had a bad plate yet! The beef sandwich is better than back home, the Philly is to die for. The Gyro is a taste of heaven and well the Hot Dog is out of this world!! I even bought a few T Shirts!! The Wise Guys in there are awesome. LOVE IT!!! It is like being back home without the snow!!!
Big'z Burgers is a GREAT venue for the entire family. Sit outside on the patio or deck while the kids play a pick-up game of soccer, football, or tag! The gourmet burgers are fresh, the fries are fabulous, and the milkshakes are to die for! Especially the chocolate. Get there early to avoid the lunch line! Thanks for all the great food and thanks for sponsoring Team South Texas Multi-Sports (www.TeamSTXMS.org). We couldn't race without you!
I visited this location recently with my sisters and nephews after hearing how good it was. The burgers were yummy, the chocolate shake to die for and the atmosphere was very family friendly. The outside play area and "turf" for football tossing, soccer kicking and just kids running wild was a very good idea! I also liked the treehouse and myself want to wander thru it! Great location for birthday parties or just for a family meal.
I have been going here for 48 years and Old Joe (Phyliss' Dad) fed my mother and her friends back when his hamburgers were a nickel back in the 1940's. It is still the go to place for the very best (not the biggest) burger in all of Bexar County. Me and my entire family love Joe's and love that they have fed us for more than 4 generations and counting.
this is great place to enjoy one of s.a.'s best burgers. eat out on the patio or in the cold a.c., either way you won't regret that you came here. attached is one of the best live venues around. sit on the comfortable booths in the back or grab a table to sit a little closer to the stage. i love the tuesday night poetry slams. way to go SAMs
As a kid walking down the strip on michigan ave, geting a hotdog before taking the redline home, was a everyday thing. Eating a hot dog from Nick's brings back memorys of the windy city. Nick's is a must for any san antonionite that wants a tast of chicago. The Green relish and peppers are a must !! Get a dog here and you wont be disappointed!!
