Dr. Miller received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After completing a three-year residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, she was chosen to serve as Chief Resident for an additional year. Dr. Miller was awarded “The Outstanding Teacher” award as well as the G. Bowers Mansdorfer Pediatric Award. Dr. Miller is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Miller enjoys caring for children of all ages, but especially adolescents. She also has special interests in helping families deal with behavioral issues and in caring for children with developmental disabilities.

Primary Care
Dr. Madden received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from Temple University. After completing a three-year residency in pediatrics at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, he was chosen to serve as Chief Resident for an additional year. Dr. Madden is a member of the AOA Medical Honor Society. His fellow residents honored him as “the Clinician’s Clinician” in 1992. Dr. Madden also received the G. Bowers Mansdorfer Award, which is presented to the resident who best exemplifies the primary care pediatrician. Dr. Madden is Board Certified and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Madden has special interests in caring for children with chronic medical conditions and with special developmental needs. Dr. Madden is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and participates in the education of medical students and pediatric residents. Dr. Madden lives with his wife, who is also a pediatrician, and their two sons.
Emergency Care
ABOUT OUR OFFICE: Office Hours: Our office is open from 8:30am until 5:00pm Monday thru Friday and on Saturdays at 8:30am for sick visits. We are closed only on major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.) Scheduling Visits: We encourage you to schedule your child’s routine well care at least 4-6 weeks in advance. When they are infants, it is best to schedule the next well visit each time you are in the office. Sick visits will be scheduled as the need arises. Rest assured that if your child is ill and needs an appointment, we will always get you in that same day. Please call as early as possible if you know your child needs to be seen that day. After Hours: The doctors are available to you by phone after office hours and encourage you to call with urgent issues. You can reach us by calling the regular office number and listening to the instructions on the answering machine. We answer our calls very promptly and encourage you to call again if for some reason you have not heard back from us within 20 minutes. It is very important for your child’s continuity of medical care that you rely on us after hours. If you child has a life-threatening illness or injury, then of course you should call 911. Otherwise, if you have concerns, don’t hesitate to call. We can usually give you advice to get you through the night but if we feel your child needs prompt attention, we will make arrangements for your child to be seen. We generally will use the Emergency Room at either Howard County General Hospital or Saint Agnes, the hospitals where we have privileges.
