I will respect the opinions of the very negative opinions placed by other readers. Everyone has an opinion....
1) to be successful in any Martial Arts, especial at a school with such high standards of training you must have fortitude in every way.
2) You decided to sign the CONTRACT....A contract is a contract, just like a Mortgage contract. You have to sick to it.
3) If you were not sure your kid could handle the rigors of this serious training, you should have opted for a 1 year contract.
4) This is a business yes.....you have to respect that. But there is a great deal of benefit that can be gleaned from the training.
My daughter started at WT 6 years ago and this by far is the best gift we could have given her. She has matured beyond all our expectations, she is very responsible, gained leadership skills, competitiveness, and have gained a skill and mentality that will be with her for her life.
She has gained her 2nd Degree Black Belt and she EARNED it.....For that matter we earned it too by insuring we provided the daily opportunity to train. She does work for WT as a Counselor, on the Leadership team as a Jr. Instructor and on the Mngt team helping run the daily business. Life skills that you certainly cant get thru rec Soccer or working at Wendy's. She has developed life long skills and friendships.
The Master's skill level is by far the best I have ever seen and their ability to motivate and teach are skills possessed by special people. They dedicate their lives to this art and teaching, they take it very seriously and with great pride.
Net-Net....some kids, adults are cut out for this school and some are not, that is the way of the world. BUT if you are one that is not having success or benefit from this program you cannot bash entire program due to you experiences. Lastly, again, a contract is a contract.
White tiger is the best taekwondo school in all of the United States, but especially North Carolina. All of the negative ads on City Search and anywhere else are just as I have seen said on other reviews, jealouse remarks. This is because of White Tiger's excellent curriculum and respect for all the members and parents of White Tiger. I am 11 years old and am on the Elite Sparring Team and the Leadership team, i have been attending White Tiger Taekwondo for almost 8 years. Now I think it is easy to say that I have quite enough experience with the school and I am true to my words. Black belt life skills are an important part at White Tiger and are great things to use all of your life. They teach you(referring to the black belt lifeskills) respect, self-discipline, leadership, and many more. They teach you these every week and in every class. You always have to show respect to the masters, higher ranking belts, and adults(at leats the ones that you know). Attending White Tiger brings friends, families, and good times together so that you can feel comfortable and enjoy it as a sport and as a hobbie. Attending regular teakwondo classes is not the only things you can do. You can join weapons where they teach you a certain weapon for a while and then switch the weapon, you can join master quest which is advanced techniques and skills for black belts, you can join demo and elite team, demo team is where you perform coreographed forms and self defenses by our own Master Lee. Elite team is an advanced sparring class for the team which you get in to by trying out for it. The teacher is Master D.R. Kim. Master Kim is an Asian Games gold medalist in sparring. His classes are intense and help you with stamina and builds your confidence which I've used in school and every day life. I can not imagine training in any other school than the best, White Tiger.
I am a student of White Tiger for 4 yrs. I am 8 yrs old. It feels like home because I am part of hapkido, leadership team, demo team, and taekwondo which makes me go to more classes and makes me feel like everybody there are part of my family. i like all of the big events that happen at White Tiger, They all are very fun like the Halloween party. I have learned a lot from the past 4 yrs. I have learned mostly forms and kicking for Taekwondo. Everyboy I know treats me very nice. Every body gets tought as much as they need to. I have many friends there and I love all my masters. I go 5 days a week. And my mom has to drag me out of there most times.

I live in New Jersey and have 2 Taekwondo schools. I have been doing Taekwondo since I was 4 years old. I am now 28. I actually drove down to Cary with my fiance and five friends to visit this school because I had heard so much about it within the Korean Taekwondo community as far north as NY/NJ.
First of all, the school's facilities are top-notch. Multiple training rooms, gym, rock wall, zip line, saunas, showers, kids room, indoor pond, cafe all put the surrounding schools to shame. Those negative reviews are OBVIOUSLY written by jealous competitors. That is quite obvious to me.
Second, the instructor staff is comprised solely of Korean Tigers. For those of you who don't know, that is THE MOST ELITE Taekwondo team in the world. Korean school children aspire to be on that team from childhood.
Third, they have created an excellent program that obviously reaches out to a lot of people and exposes them to Taekwondo that is not watered down. The skill level of their students, from what I saw (I was there for 3 days) was significantly higher than the majority of schools I have been to (and I have been to many many many schools).
Master Chang was in Korea when I visited, and myself and my colleagues were treated with tremendous respect by Master Rondy. She personally showed us around and saw to our needs. If you wish to teach your child respect, she is a great example of it. Her staff of 10 or so Korean masters were clearly hand selected with skill/personality in mind. Each one (except one who was pregnant) could easily defeat me in a sparring match and I consider myself very good.
I have no reason to post this other than being disgusted by the obvious lies spewed by ""customers"" who are clearly competitors of White Tiger. If you have any doubts that this is a first rate school, call me. I will personally vouch for White Tiger. My name is Greg Carr. My number is 908-295-1919 or email me at ngregorycarr@yahoo.

After watching videos, I rethought what I said about the school. They have a great Martial arts program, I was just upset about an experience. If you are looking for the best instructors to teach your children, this is a great place, the atmosphere is friendly and the people are caring. The instructors teach because they enjoy it, not just for the status. Besides my experience, I was highly impressed with this school. I wish I could go back and fix the situation and stay at the school, but thats not an option now.

In addition to agreeing with the all-flash reviews, it should be noted that there is no easy out of for their contract. Somehow, we ended up signing a 3 year contract for an 11 year old. When she lost interest in the program, we called to cancel and they stated that this was impossible to do unless she was injured or we moved. So we need to move to stop them from debiting our bank account. Just beware. I would avoid business with this company. Poor martial arts training in general and poor business practice (and read the fine print on the contract :) ).

I have read the following reviews of White Tiger and I absolutely agree that the only honest reviews of this facility are the negative ones. The very phony trite reviews come straight off the White Tiger website and were undoubtedly written by the owners. The fact that the one kid with the 2 brothers loves the ""ample parking spots"" and an aparent college student probably wouldn't use the phrase ""White Tiger has something for everyone, and class times to fit almost any schedule."" These are marketing phrases, plain and simple. So ask yourself, why would I want to be part of a place that feels the need to be soo deceptive? What are they afraid of?

My son started at White Tiger when they were still in the Shopping Center at Chatham & HIgh House near the bowling alley. For several months, he and my neighbor enjoyed the classes for the youngest members, despite my concerns about the fact that they GAVE awards to everyone at the end of each month whether a particular skill had been mastered or not.
When the new facility was built, the only time for the preschoolers to come was from 7-8pm. As you know, this is bedtime!! When we asked them to find a time for our kids so they could still come, they suggested we sign them up for White Tiger Preschool (in January, the middle of the school year) so they could go in the morning. Early afternoons were not available because they needed a lunch break before driving the vans to pick up the after school kids who would prevent the preschoolers from having afternoon classes.
The next time we came to class, our contract was cancelled and we were asked to leave, as well as our neighbor. First they said the other parents complained that my child took up too much of the teachers time. All of us watched class together and hung out together and all of us wanted to still come after the move, I was just the spokesperson. Then they tried to tell me my son was not ready for Tae Kwon Do (This was after they had taken $100/month from me for over 6 months and not talked to me about my child AT ALL!)
Thank God for KS Lee! We went to his school and found serious, dedicated instructors. They charged me less and taught my son way more, including self-control & respect for himself and others. KS Lee encourages obedience at school and home. I have also heard good things about Allen's TKD. Please just do not support the greedy, shallow owners of White Tiger. They are only in it for the $$$, not for your kids!!

While it is true that there is a lot of fake ""Horrah!"" in this ""school"" it is more whoupla to hide the fact that what you are learning is minimal. The only reviews that don't look canned here coincide with my experience, which that this school is all for for money, none for the education. It is obvious that either the instructor either directed his students to write the canned promotions of the school, or his staff wrote them in the first place. I agree that there is good cardio work,...BUT this is not being promoted as Cardio Boxing, it is being promoted as a Martial Arts school, which IMHO it is not, or at least not a good one. The students' skills looked far less proficient then their belt would suggest. Colored belts had rigid mechanical motion, not the flowing motion I expect from a martial artist on level.
There are cheaper gyms to get the same or better cardio workouts. If cardio is what you want, go to one of them. If you want martial arts, I would suggest a school, but this is not the forum for it. All the rules here let me tell you is find a real martial arts school, not this place.

I have trained at White Tiger for over 8 years and have enjoyed my time there. I find I am challenged with improving my skills daily and improving my cardiovascular health. I am inspired by the instructors who come from Korea (the country where Taekwondo originated) and inspire me to challenge myself and improve my skills. Several different martial arts are offered by top notch instructors so you are guarenteed to be learning from one of the best. It is a facility that offers a well rounded exercise program (weight training, martial arts classes and exercise equipment). I highly recommend this school!

As a student at White Tiger for the last 4 years, I greatly appreciate the many opportunities to learn through formal classes with the masters, special seminars with the Korean Tigers when they're in the US, one-on-one training with leadership team members, and overall willingness of the students to share with each other. It is a wonderful community of people. Master Rondy Chang manages the business end of our school which leaves her husband and co-owner, Master Do-Hyung Chang, free to devote all of his time to his students. Please take the opportunity to visit the White Tiger web page to learn more about our school.

This school is one of those horrible belt factory schools that are rapidly making American martial arts the joke of the martial arts world. As a practicing martial artist for 20 years (on and off, mostly active for the last 7), I am ashamed of the existance of this school.
In early 2007 they promoted 74 Black Belts from a December 2006 test and at that promotion were testing another flood of Black Belts. Besides the fact that any school that promotes that many black belts has rediculously low standards, they even had the audacity to sell tickets to the belt test (souce: Their own newsletter on their website).
I have communicated with Master Rondy, and found him to be rude. Not to mention that I think it erodes respect between master and student for him to be referred to by his first name, but that could be just me.
The class length seems to be 45 minutes, which, while may be fine for a children's class, is too short for an adult class. But then again, judging by their black belt promotions, they don't seem to have much to teach.
Therefore, I would suggest, if you are considering schools, only take this one if your want to wear a black belt more than you want to train and learn. But if your want to do that, I suggest a martial arts store is far far cheaper. A black belt there would only cost $5 instead of the $159 per month here along with the $75 registration fee, fee to see your loved one be ""tested"" for his belt, etc.
One more note. On other reviews I have seen much lauding abouytthe great instructors here. There is much talk about their great skill. It is poor judgement to judge a martial arts school on the skill of their instructor's martial arts. The real proof of quality is the skill of their students. 74 black belts being promoted at once does not speak of great skill standards for their students.
Finally, I see other reviews lauding Tiger for not making them do what they didn't want to do. How else do you grow but trying new things?

Below reviews are fake. Read them through. I do not know this school, I've never seen this school. But the reviews are pretty disgusting. Reviews are written in the same manner, without specific experiences. If you read through them, you'll see what I mean.

I've study martial arts for 9+ years; have visited several other schools in the area and found White Tiger to be the most consistent and welcoming school in the Triangle area. The instructors are master level, many of which are former world champions and all are recognized by the World TaeKwonDo Federation ""Kukkiwon"" and the Dae Han Hapkido Federation ""Korean Hapkido Federation"". When a student achieves black belt status through, White Tiger its recognized world wide, as the certification comes directly from the martial arts founding body, in South Korea. There is no hype, just a drive for excellence for each student.

White Tiger offers a variety of different martial arts styles taught by master level instructors. Regardless of your skill level or experience they challenge you to become the best you can be. White Tiger is a very welcoming and encouraging environment for all students preschool age through adult. In the year since I started training at White Tiger I've made great friends, become much more fit and have learned skills that will help me throughout my life.

White Tiger is an amazing martial arts school that changes the lives of its students for the better. The incredible value comes in the form of olympic quality instruction (all classes are taught by masters with a minimum 20 yrs. experience and bachelor degrees in sports-related fields), a high-comfort facility, and extremely accessible training schedule. Husband and wife team/owners Master Chang and Master Rondy and their instructors care about each student and thus have created an inspiring, supportive White Tiger family made up of people of all races, ages, and skill levels that also care about each other. I am a black belt and love to see new students because I know martial arts and especially this school can strengthen and improve not only their bodies but their spirits as well and in the process change their lives and the lives of those around them for the better.
White Tiger has proven to be an amazing school comprised of some of the best instructors from around the world, and one of the nicest buildings I have ever seen. My entire family has trained at White Tiger for six years and we are all black belts in various styles. My father trains in Hapkido whle my mother and I both train in Taekwondo. We all love White Tiger for it's famly style environment, friendly staff, and super programs.
White Tiger has become a second home to my family and I. having no experience in the martial arts before joining White Tiger, I felt very comfortable beginning my training here. All of the instructors and masters are great. My little brother does the tiger tots program for preschoolers and absolutely loves it. My other brother and I take regular Taekwondo classes. Our whole family loves taekwondo and loves White Tiger. Nothing else could possibly compare.

The best thing about White Tiger is that they dont force you to do anything that you dont want to..at my old school i was pushed around and forced to spar with people at least 300 pounds more than me. I dont have to do that at white Tiger. GOing to white tiger is truly the best time i have in the entire week
