Well, I will add my review. My daughter and I started a few months back, we are pretty green and I do not mean the belt. We joined so that we could do something together and when I researched this seemed like the best school around. The cost is not as high as a lot of others. We have been having great fun and the instructors have been great. I have some very old experience with Kung Fu so martial arts is not entirely new to me. I like Master Rondy and have had great interaction with her. I watched her at a belt ceremony and she has great pride when her students advance. I am not sure what all the history was and at this point I do not care. I am happy there, my daughter is happy there, my wife recently joined Lady Tigers and she is happy there. I would recommend this school to others without hesitation. I see someone complaining about the charge from breaking their contract, well I read it and signed it as well. I know the penalty if I stop and that is not unusual with a contract that gives you a large price break. You terminate the contract early and there is a pro-rated fee. Sorry that it is not working out good for the family, but a contract is a contract.

I have seen my daughter become more focused and have more concentration even in just the two months that we have attended and the fun her and I have at school and practicing at home is more than worth it. I will only give 4 stars since people seem prejudiced against 5 star ratings

You Need to Know

I've trained, tested, performed, and taught here for many years. Just about everything that I have read in the other 1-star reviews is true. I don't think it's necessary to reiterate it here. Just a note about the 5-star ones:

I know from experience that Master Rondy rewards every single student testing for a black belt with bonus points if they write a positive review of the school on a list of websites that she hands out. I believe that this is one of them.

I am Alex P. I am 9 years old and I live in Cary N.C. I've got a problem... Winter is too cold for outdoor activities sometimes. The solution... White Tiger Taekwondo! It is indoor and warm. Sometimes the sparring matches get hot!!! White Tiger has great forms, self defense, kicks and testings from Korea. Not to forget the excellent instructors and masters. I have been to other Taekwondo doe-jhangs (schools) but White Tiger beat out the competitors. I highly recommend White Tiger. Who knows, maybe I'll see you there!?

We relocated to Cary, NC the Summer of 2009 and in looking for martial arts schools to continue practicing Tae Kwon Do we visited a lot of schools in the area. We were very impressed from the beginning with White Tiger . Our children Gabriel and Giselle ( 8 year old twins) like the school and the Masters made them feel right at home. Tae Kwon Do for our family is a lifestyle, we enjoy the benefits of self improvement in body, mind and spirit. We spend time together as a family, in a family oriented environment where we got to meet great people and enjoy the benefits of staying active. We feel that with the level of professionalism and knowledge White Tiger has made a difference in our level of confidence and dedication to Martial Arts. Master Randy and her team are great and we highly recommend them.

Great Family Experience

I just wanted to take a moment to describe my experience at White Tiger Tkd. In 2005, I began taking Tae Kwon Do at White Tiger. It was a great experience for me then, but after 6 months, I had to take an extended time off from training for personal reasons. Fast forward to 2011, I thought that my 4 year old daughter was ready to participate in the Tiger Tots program at White Tiger. I signed her up and she loved it. After just a few weeks of taking her there, I realized how much I missed training at White Tiger and decided to re-enroll myself in Tae Kwon Do there. My daughter and I have been at White Tiger now for 5 months and I must say that it is fantastic. The Tiger Tots program with Mr. Mike is indescribable. The respect and attention that he commands from a group of 3-5 year old kids is beyond what I could have thought possible. Each class, the children learn about self confidence, respect, and perseverance while getting great exercise and loving it. As for myself, everything that I loved 6 years ago about White Tiger is still there. They have unbelievable facilities and fantastic Masters. Master Rondy is a great leader and truly has been successful in fulfilling the vision of a top notch martial arts school in a great family friendly environment. I would strongly recommend White Tiger to anyone who wants to challenge themselves to reach their full potential mentally and physically as an individual or bring the whole family and enjoy the bond that learning martial arts together can create.

Tournament correction.

Stephen, Think before you review an entire organization. I am a senior Black Belt that was at the same tournament. And one of your instructors. And yes, you were kicked in places that are off limits but not by on of the White Tiger students. It was just a few students all from the same visiting school that ruined some of the fun. On the whole, the tournament was an extremely fair and fun exhibition of TKD skill. I personally found the overall judging to be very fair and honest. I too Judge our own and other tournaments several times a year. It is harder than it looks, and you can't see everything. Keep it up White Tigers, you are an asset to your community......

Tournament Correction

I'd like to apologize to the White Tiger organization for my recent review. I was very upset and angry over my match, and I just lost my temper. I didn't realize that my fellow competitor was not part of White Tiger, and would again like to stress my apology. I find that White Tiger is actually a magnificent place and I'd recommend it. I have changed my mind and will go to their tournaments again. I again, express my dearest apologies, I didn't mean to offend anybody. I was just very angry and upset. I hope you accept my apology.

No care what so ever

I have been with white tiger for 7 years, and it has been a couple years since leaving and I have witnessed all the changing and it was for the complete worse. The atmosphere has changed greatly since the loss of the old masters, I am extremely close to all of them and will still be. The new masters that were brought in and showed no respect to anyone, the did not show the care and determination that the old masters did. Master Rondy on the other hand is only in it for one thing, She talks about people behind their back but then will be completely nice to there face (it has happened to me.) She gave no credit to instructors or counselors when they fixed something for the better and would yell at us. The demo team has gone down from what it use to be there is no more spark or excitement. Now Alot of the kids do not know the forms and do not kick very well. Personally i do believe that years ago white tiger was the best but after leaving and looking from an outsider view and an insider one too i feel that white tiger is a big fake, and all it is a belt factory, a lot of the kids in classes don't know forms and will be given the next belt.

Great School

Pay good attention to the bad reviews, they are recommending another school. That only means that those comments are from the competitors, trying to get people by saying bad things about White Tiger in Cary.
I really recommend this school, all the instructors are very nice and professionals. My kids love the classes and they always have fun there.

very nice school

Before my son joined White Tiger Taekwondo, he had tried a lot of sports and outdoor activities, but none of them could keep him interested and involved, which made my husband and I very frustrated. We really want him to be active rather than staying inside home playing games. Things changed after we sent him to White Tiger Taekwondo's summer camp in 2008.
After a week long summer camp ended, he wanted to join White Tiger Taekwondo as a member to train there. It has been two years since he joined White Tiger Taekwondo. he has grown a lot, from white belt to bodon belt, and just finished his black belt test a week ago. He really loves White Tiger Taekwondo, loves his instructors and team mates. He really enjoyed his time at White Tiger. He even joined White Tiger Taekwondo's Demo team. The training at White Tiger has great impact on every aspect of his life. He became a kid with confidence, pride and willing to take leadership. As parents, we are very proud of what our son has achieved.
We thank White Tiger for helping my son becomes who he is today.

The school where the Instructors really care

This is an amazing school! Beautiful! The membership prices are inexpensive for the services rendered. The Demonstrations are awesome, Birthday parties top-of-the-line and the class schedule very flexable. Many different styles to choose from, most family's have more than one member involved(usually 2 or more) and on the average one instructor per 6 students or less. Just check the website 4 more! I have worked and trained at many Martial Arts schools for the last 28yrs and this is the most organized. If something needs 2 get done Mstr. Rondy does it right away. She works very hard behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly along with her incredable staff members. The foundation that the school was built on really exists ""Integrity"". It's great that the Korean masters input is put into practice immediatly, straight from Korea! Things have really gone smoothly since the new masters have arrived in the last 7+ months. The mix of American & Korean Instructors is second to none. Every week people from different states and countrys call or come by to inquire what the largest school in the nation has to offer & how is it so successful(no joke). Try their 2 1/2-5yr olds class it's the best ever!Don't 4get Kali, weapons, Hapkido, Disco Ball dimmed lights-n-all Cardio Kickboxing & Judo/Jujitsu.1LOVE

i have trained at WT for 7 years.
I had a job there i thought TKD and was a counselor.
If i was ever to make a simple mistake she would yell at me and throw a fit at me. Most of the people reading the reviews below might think that Rondy was giving the masters ""great care"" but i was close to all the master. I went to their houses, went on vactions with them. We were all like a family so i would know how they feel. Master Rondy underpays, gives no health insurance, doesnt care for the masters, and is very unprofessional business wise. On the website she claims she is a 2nd degree in Muay thai........... the funny thing is there is no belt system in muay thai. She is a black belt in ji do kwan.................... ji do kwan is a school not a martial art.... certified yogo instructer?!?!?!?! hahaha she can barely lift her legto her stomach. most of her info is bogus she just trying make herself look professional. She think because shes done martial arts and lived in korea for 2 year she knows everything about korean culture.... haha this place is just a money magnet. oh yeah 7th degree pro tkd?? hahah for one she is not old enough for 7th degree and pro tkd is looked down upon in korea. if u r looking for a good tkd school look up kim white tiger in chapel hill or yongin martial arts in holly springs this is where the former master r right now. oh and also too much drama.

White Tiger Taekwondo

I write because I am Fan the Demo Team but I suggest
something I Know the want to use the Oldest kids but I know they has kid around 9-10 years they are part of the demo team for long time and they are good. Use those kids they bring also attraction to the school.
Give them the opportunity they are good too and also I think they are black belt I am not sure they are second degree. I know using little kids to they going to bring more student to White Tiger.

It’s been two years since my family and I have become part of White Tiger. Before we joined, we researched other schools closer to our home. These other schools were so eager with pressure to sign us up immediately so we left. We made our choice based on our personal experience with Master Rondy during a private session. We did not rely on these reviews that get so out of hand and are so “grade school.” Today, if we had to do it over again, we’d still choose White Tiger regardless of any comments/reviews. It is the best facility in this state with the best instructors who truly care about its students. My family’s personal experience with Master Rondy and her staff have always been very professional and pleasant. Master Rondy is a wonderful lady who has truly stayed committed to all the children and students of White Tiger despite these unexpected “growing pains.“ My son has thoroughly enjoyed his time at White Tiger and developed lasting friendships with other students. At the end of the day, that's all that matters. No regrets here, only deep and sincere appreciation.

Korean Traditions

I wanted to comment on a previous review but I couldn't fit it within 500 characters.
I think the former employee who basically said only the negatives about White Tiger does not know anything about Korean traditions.
I agree that performing demonstrations at late hours at night were very unfair. But the whole parties thing and household chores are really not a big issue for Koreans. It's a way of showing respect to the boss. And paying for medical bills should be the masters' responsibilites. Did Master Chang or Rondy personally cause their injuries? They knew what they were risking when they decided to go into this working field like any other sport. It's hard work. Nobody told them it would be an easy job. They are called ""masters"".The hard work the masters do is part of their job. And what's wrong with taking a nap if you are the boss. It is stressful to be working in a business in this tough economy and employing all the masters. Does the nap harm anyone? When I met Master Rondy, she was not friendly and looked more like a businesswoman than a ""master"". Now that Master Chang and the other Korean masters have left I have too. And I'm sure that it's like a factory now targeting consumers' money more than anything. If you are looking for real quality martial arts, go to Kim's White Tiger, just 30 minutes from White Tiger, the factory.

What a sad story

My family and I have been members of White Tiger for several years now. What attracted us to this school was the uniqueness of it. There are many taekwondo schools around but very few which offered us this type of experience. I must say that I am neither close to either Master Rondy, Master Chung or the Korean masters so my views are solely my own.

Over the last couple of years the changes that have taken place in the facility have been extremely hard to face. We have continued to stay loyal to the school with the belief that things would turn around. We stuck through the changes that took place once Master Rondy retired and then returned. It was sad to see how the personal matters of the former owners impacted the school. It is sad to see how the school has a feeling of division and people are choosing sides.

For my family and I, the integrity of what a martial arts experience should be about has been lost to gossip and back biting.

My family and I loved the training by the Korean Masters and although I did not feel the language was an issue for us as stated by someone's earlier review, their love for their craft was obvious. It was hard to to hear of their departure. I am not foolish enough to believe that anything we are being told is the absolute truth. I believe there is Master Rondy''s version and there is the the Korean Master's version and some where in between lies the truth.

It saddens me to say that once our contract expires my family and I will choose not to renew. Not because we don't believe the school will continue to be a success but simply because the foundation that this school was built on no longer exists.

We will take with us the wonderful friendships we have made with students and instructors.

Good School

I have been training @ White Tiger for the last 3 years and regardless of what has happened with instructors, etc, I have been happy with the training I receive and would recommend this school to others. The class times are convenient, the instructors knowledgeable and friendly, and the facility second-to-none.
