I hired Shamim to do my bridal hair and makeup. She did a fantastic job for which I received many compliments. She is an experienced professional who has a very definitive vision for her client. She is creative but at the same time, quick & methodical in execution. For all your important occasions, you can trust her to come through and deliver exceptional quality service!
We know Shamim Sheikh since 2000 when she started her salon and spa in Chatham Square, called Shamim Beauty Parlor. This was one of the first South Asian beauty salon and spa in the area. They have consistently provided quality beauty services at an affordable price. We highly recommend their service!
This is a horrible place. I wish i could give this place zero stars. This is the worst facial I have ever encountered in my life. This place charged me $55 dollars and she stayed in the room with me for less than 15 minutes total. This lady started out with a little face massage and put on a face polish and left me in the room laying there for 10 minutes. She came back and turned on the steam and told me she would be back. She left me there for about 15 minutes and I heard her in the other room with a walk in client and began cutting his hair. When she came back she put a mask on my face and left again for about 15 minutes. She worked on another client and threaded her eyebrows. This whole time I could hear everything from the room. I got so bored during my treatment I sat up and got ready to leave. She proceeded to tell me that I am suppose to lay there along time to relax. How can I relax if all I can hear is conversation from the next room and not getting any real treatment?
So, I went for my permanent hair straightening today with a friend of mine. She took me to this parlor and i haven't been back in several years because of her cheating me out before. You would think that a normal store would give a discount or at least keep the price they told you especially when you bring in more customers for them. WRONG. My friend was given a quote in the beginning of $60 then she went back another day to ask her if she could get her hair done and Shamim said no, but said it would be $80 (this was two weeks ago). Today we went to get our hair done, she wanted to charge us $100 per person!!! Her reason for increasing the price - my friend's hair grew ALOT. how much can hair grow in 2 weeks?! i was upset about paying i was upset about her unprofessionalism and her staff is under qualified. They can't even wash someone's hair correctly without being told 3 times what to do. All they do is stand around, gossip, and watch TV.

I would give them a zero rating if that were an option. They do not welcome you when you enter the door, they make you wait while they gossip instead of seating you and performing you service - even when there is no one else in the shop!
Some of the techs seem to feel like they are too good to perform work on certain customers. They will pass you along to the newbies and wait for the fellow Indians to come in. They are rude, obnoxious and unprofessional. They also do not do as good of a job as others I have tried - yes, there are others - in the area.

This place is great. They do a wonderful job with brows and the folks who work there work very hard, but you need to know that the manager is very selfish and keeps all of the tips. It's worth going there because of the value and quality of the work performed, but please voice your disapproval of the tip policy to the manager when you get there. Better yet, ask to speak to the manager, then hand her a few pennies so she can feel like she has successfully milked her employees for the day, and ensure that the tip that you hand to the staff, in front of the manager, is pocketed by the person who performed your cosmetic services, not by the selfish manager. The cosmeticians need to be rewarded for the work they perform. And the public needs to know how the manager treats her employees at this establishment.

ive been at many diff. cities for these services & this by far is the best. they remember who you are. im assuming that its under new management as the entire place looks different. it seems as if the owners not around & her daughters taken over. place looks good. service has improved greatly. give them a chance once again. been going there for years.

very unprofessional, girls like to gossip with each other while they work. Infact, they give first priority to their gossip, roaming around while you are eagerly waiting on the chair to get ur stuff done. I hope the owner of the parlor notices and set things right so that girls are more discplined and give first priority to the client. We are spending $$$ after all.

I have been going here for threading services for 3 years now. My college roomate told me about this salon and I have been getting my eyebrows threaded ever since! They have great service, and their hours are accomodating too. The girls there are friendly and have always been nothing but nice to me. I have a hectic schedule so it's great that I can just walk in most of the time. I have had my eyebrows waxed for years and it is painful and they never looked right. Shamim makes everyone's eyebrows look great. The whole staff is talented at threading and I would never go anywhere else!

I have been getting my eyebrows and facial threading done at Shamim's for almost 3 years. Before Aisha started working there I was a faithful customer to Kamal (she was great). When Kamal moved away, I decided to get on Aisha's clientele. Aisha is very friendly and great with eyebrow threading and facial hair removal. Shamim's is the best i've seen in the triangle.

There is no Doubt that she is a really good and hardworking girl, I usually go in as a walk-in, and she always squeezes me in, i like her, she is good at everything, , i always go to her, one time i had to wait 45 min. for her and i waited. other people came to ask me if they could do mine, but i said that no i would rather wait for her...! it is just where are you satisfy...!! she does a great job on my so i go to her..... she is awesome and she is been there for a while now.....n has more experience...
I switch salons in the city every often just to find the right salon for the right service. This salon gave me the satisfaction that I kept missing in other salons. The friendliness and the easy going atmosphere is very comforting and the prices are just right too. You get full attention and good service. I did facial and threading with the girl named mahi there. she did a very good and PAINLESS job. And even though they dont ask or demand tips like other salons......I gave her some tips to make her day better. And yes SHE DERSERVED THE TIP.
I usually have a walk-in since I am busy with kids and work. I always get the service in short time although getting an appointment helps in waiting time. I did waxing with shamim and facial with raj and they both did a good job. They are very straight forward with appointments and walk-ins. They try to fit you in if its walk-in and if they cant they schedule me for my best time or suggest me a good time to come. I WOULD RECOMMEND TO EVERYBODY WITH A BUSY SCHEDULE TO GO HERE.

I too agree with that review they do not know how to do facial, for the first time in my life i saw a person finishing the facial in 20 minutes with absolutely zero massage strokes on ur face., she was massaging for my neck instead of doing the facial. Her answer for that was here in america ppl do not like to do facial for longer time and she like to massage ur neck instead of face eventhough u paid 40$ for ur facial (That's funny answer).
"" HOPELESS"" anyways i have decided not to go to that parlour for facial, i suggest not to waste money by goin to shamim.I feel that management is absolutely not taking any care / interest.
