I am grateful for Dr. Hodges and his amazing team at Carpenter Animal Hospital and Pet Inn. Dr. Hodges is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also wise when it comes to his patients’ care and his calm demeanor helps keeps patients (and their humans at ease). We have some special needs kittens that he and his staff took care of for 5 months. It was an unfortunate situation but he and his team provided so many silver linings to that cloud and we, along with Miles and Maisy, our cats, will always be thankful. We also started taking Sadie, our dog, to Carpenter Animal Hospital and have been very pleased. Dr. Hodges and his team have each animal’s and their human’s best interests at heart!

Dr. Hodges and crew really know what they are doing. They provide a warm, inviting environment for its customers and provide multiple solutions with options to help with the decision making process for your pet. They genuinely seem to care about your animal which is what you want in anyone who is looking after the health of your 4-legged best friend. The prices are reasonable and the hospital itself has state of the art equipment and facilities. All in all, a great experience which I'd recommend to anyone.

Absolutely the most non-compassionate vet I have ever met. Was very rude after asking questions about a previous visit, would'nt return phone calls after several requests and on top of all of that our pet ended up with an infection after we asked why she wasnt given an antibiotic after having surgery!!! Thank goodness there was another vet that actually cared that was able to give our pet some relief!!!

We've been taking our cats and dog to this vet since they opened. We've generally had great experiences. My dog (yellow lab) absolutely loves going to their kennel for boarding. I can barely contain him once he sees their building and once inside, he can't wait to get in the back room. Sometimes we think he enjoys the kennel more than he does our home...
I've been to this Vet a few times. It was do-able for vaccines. But, on my last visit I was in the exam room and actually overheard the employees and the Vet making fun of clients!!! And even complaining that one didn't have the money. I will not go back!
Very disappointed. I just moved here and went based on the printed reviews. The owner was rude to my child. Would not give me straight answers regarding my pets? medical issues and just wanted me to sign an estimate for over $400. I had brought my records from my other vet with me but this vet wouldn?t or didn?t believe the vaccine history and bloodwork results. I waited over 30 minutes to actually get into the exam room and the front office lady was extremely dismissive and rude. I will not go back. I believe all the negative comments are true. What a shame?they are close to our house.

I believe CAH is the greatest dog care/vets office/boarding facility in NW Cary. My dog cannot wait to get there for dog care/boarding/doctor visits. I moved from another state where vet clinics just give you a number and you take your turn for service. Carpenter Animal Hospital cares and to prove it, my dog has never been happier. Each animal is given their private suite to spend the night versus a cage that most vets use. They are very responsive and will treat your animal if anything happens while they are boarding. I never have to worry about my pet while he is boarding or being seen there. And, day care! It's the greatest. My dog goes each and every day to play, be stimulated with other animals, and practice his obedience. Every morning, my pet is sitting at the back door waiting to go to ""school"". Dr. Griffith and Dr. Nichols are delightful and go the extra mile to make sure that all visits are comprehensive. I appreciate their follow-up apts too making sure that side effects of medications and treatments are successful.
Their facility is so clean and neat all the time. If for any reason you need help with your pet getting in and out of the car, they are there to help you. They care at Carpenter Animal Hospital.
It is a pleasure for me to write a nice review. I have owned 10 dogs in my lifetime and have seen vets come and go. I can honestly tell you from my animal ownership experience, that Carpenter rates 5-stars for service and integrity. My child loves it there!!!

What a friendly and loving staff this hospital has. From the vets to technicians. My dogs have had excellent care and love for several years. I have received many phone calls from the vet beyond business hours. She also came over to my house on her DAY OFF to help me with my wonderful, dog would unfortunately could not go on any longer. This is an animal loving facility. I am so thankful they have been able to help me for so many years. THANK YOU CARPENTER ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!

I boarded my two dogs and my cat over Christmas. They needed to have some vaccines updated, and since we just moved to town we saw the doctor there. I cant remember her name but she was so nice! She explained everything to me, why it was needed. I was concerned about cost with the boarding fees and Christmas time. I was given an estimate at the beginning of my appointment and the total cost was the same! When picking up my pets I spoke to one of the people who provided their care, they gave me a report card and told me about their time there. They were dirty from playing, but I did not ask for bath. From the looks of them they had a great time! My cat even ate while she was there! I cant comment on the two previous posts here, but I can say that I will be a long time customer here. I have since signed my dogs up for daycare. They start barking as soon as we turn onto the street that they are on! They run in the front door and everyone there knows who they are.

Polished looks can be deceiving, trust me! I boarded my animal here while on vacation for one week. I took my dog in perfectly healthy and when I picked her up one week later she had such a serious eye infection and needed emergency eye surgery, not once, but twice! I even paid extra to have the animal caregivers spend more time with my dog. Had they been doing this, the eye infection should have never been allowed to reach such severity. My dog almost lost her eyesight had I not spent over $3,000 to have it repaired. And do you want to know what the receptionist behind the front desk said to me, don't worry, one of my dogs lost one of her eyes a few years back and she is doing just great! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? I was so distraught picking up my comatose dog because they had so heavily sedated her from her pain, and their lack of medical care, that I was speechless! I could not believe that such an establishment had allowed my healthy, happy dog to fall to such a state of pain and sadness. DO NOT BOARD YOUR ANIMALS HERE! BE WARNED!! They do not care for your animals as they say they do. There are plenty of other animal care facilities in the surrounding areas, PLEASE check them out before you board here.

I couldn't believe the similar comments. (I wish I saw this before I took my animal there) We boarded our dog and she was bitten also! I guess they take all the animals out at once, sometimes 10 at a time! How can you monitor all of them. And I was expected to pay for the wound care! Very upset by lack of compassion. Different staff told different stories of what happened too. Very dissappointed with vet as well.

We recently boarded our dog for an 11 day vacation on the west coast. A few days into the trip, we received a call from the kennel indicating that our 11 year old Bichon Frise had been bitten by another dog during the evening walk. The kennel employee indicated that our dog was fine and that the dog that bit him was a puppy. She indicated that the vet would look at the dog the next morning and call us. We received no call the next day. We called the vet. The vet told us that she left us a message. It turns out that she called one of our emergency contacts; she did not call us. The vet showed no empathy and no remorse about the incident. In fact, the vet closed the conversation by telling us that we were monetarily responsible for the medical care our dog received. The vet also indicated that our dog was not bitten by a puppy. We called some of our neighbors and asked them to check up on our dog. They both received inconsistent stories about how the incident occurred. When we finally picked up our dog, it was obvious that our dog was bitten by a very large dog. There were four puncture wounds near our dog's neck. Again, none of the staff could give a clear story of how our dog was bitten. The vet did not even come out to talk to us. The kennel gave us a discount, however, they showed little care or compassion. We will never board our dog at this kennel again.
My dog loved being boarded here! Also, the boarding area for cats was the best I have ever seen. All office procedures went smoothly and had no problems with staff or policies. Both my animals have had yearly office visits and the vet was great! For once a vet did not try to sell me a bunch of procedures or lecture me on all of the preventative medicine they could do. I would highly recommend this for anyone in Cary!
Carpenter is fantastic! They treat our dog like he is part of the family. The service is very personal and professional. It is very clear that they truly love animals. Our dog loves going there, even for check-ups or visits to the kennel. They also provide a wonderful daycare service. We highly recommend Carpenter Animal Hospital.

I am surprised that others have had problems at Carpenter. I first took my puppy to another vet, also in Cary, and was dissatisfied with the impersonal service and long distance from my home. I transferred my puppy's care to Carpenter about 1 1/2 years ago and have been very happy there. My dog goes there for daycare at least once per week, we use vet services, and we board him there. They have always been very caring and attentive. I have only had one problem (computer issue with new employee) and it was resolved immediately. The prices have been similar to what I paid at the other vet. I would be willing to pay a little more for the convenience of having such loving staff so close to home. I feel very comfortable having him there and HE LOVES IT! He pulls me in and I have to drag him out.
