I've always had good experiences with these guys. Very knowledgeable and friendly and good prices. Lot's of airplane and heli stuff compared to some other LHS's which is more what I am looking for. Wish I was a little closer to them!
YOU GOT TO CHECK THIS OUT!No other store in the Triangle with give you that much attention and service (I tried!). From purchasing something - without being SOLD something - to repairs and advice on best use: This is the place to go!What I find particularly cool is that there ALWAYS are other people from R/C clubs hanging out there, sharing their experience of different vehicles with you! In our case I would have bought a too-advanced car for my 11 yr old, had the owner and the guys there given me better advice and recommendations. It felt like I had a bunch of consultants right there in the store. If you are looking for a great shopping experience as an R/C beginner or veteran alike: Don't miss Hangar 18 in Cary!
The staff here is very knowledgeable about trains. They have a good selection of "O Scale" trains and accessories. We bought a Lionel "Scout" set for our two boys. The first engine we bought had some sort of motor defect and I returned it the next day. They swapped out the whole set up, no questions asked, no restocking fee. I later added a figure 8 loop and extra tanker car. I was going to buy a more expensive set and the guy there actually recommended the lower cost one based on our needs. Our kids are thrilled with this train set! I think for an item like this it is better to buy from a knowledgeable local store that has expert advice than via the internet. We will go back in the future, I'm sure. Also, if you are looking for some hard to find Thomas Train accessories, this place has a very good selection.
