Mom died here in 2011. I'm wondering if anybody ever took care of her. Poor soul..... I had to help carry her out, her body ravaged stiff with rigor mortis. Will never forget it..

It's a Death Camp

My father was admitted to Starcrest for physical therapy and was to be up walking to prevent pneumonia. He said he had not been up at all. A few days after my father was admitted to Starcrest, I was visiting him to find his oxygen tube (he'd had lung surgery two weeks prior), was on the floor mixed in with the jello that was also on the floor with the dirt. We told the front desk, who said his nurse would be in shortly, to change his oxygen tube.. We were there for 45min - 1 hour. The nurse never came in to change the tube. He was also dirty and in need of changing. The aide did change him while we were there. I caught up with the nurse in the hallway and told her that my father was coughing and he hadn't been while in the hospital. She said they had just changed his antibiotic and he should get better soon. I also reminded her again of the oxygen. She replied "she would get to it"; This was on a Friday night. I felt then that he should go to ER. On Monday morning I got a call from Starcrest telling me my father was on the way to ER. By the time he finally got to ER, he had a very low oxygen level and had developed pneumonia. He passed away in less than 2 days. The Dr. said due to the pneumonia it put a high stress on his heart, that ultimately failed. Sending your loved one to Starcrest is like sending them to hell.
