Worst place ever

The girls who work here r rude and not very nice. I've been in Santa Cruz tanning twice and never got to tan. They ignore me while they finish there hair styles if u want to be ignored and treated like crap u found the right place

WARNING! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD AND DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT! I have had to have two credit cards blocked and I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau. There are similar complaints at their Sacramento Strore!!! CROOKS!!!!!!

I have been tanning at Santa Cruz Tanning Company for a few months now and I really enjoy it!! There are a lot of different beds to choose from and they are always clean and ready to use. I have also had Mindy cut and color my hair and she has done an amazing job. I am very picky about my hair and I dont let a lot of people cut it but I will definitley be back! The staff is always friendly and they all seem to really enjoy what they do.


We had all the same problems listed here. We signed up for the hair cuts then I added tanning later. After 4 months we were charged a $19 fee per person on the account to maintain the tanning beds so essentially my seven year old sons haircut account also required the fee for tanning beds. We were not informed up front about the fee and the contract was strangely worded. When my husband went in to talk to them about it they gave him the run around and he sternly asked to speak to the owner who of course wasnt reachable. Later when he finally did get ahold of the owner he was told that he was not allowed to come back into the salon because he was harassing the girls there. My husband said thats fine he had already cancelled the membership and wouldnt come back by choice anyway. Three weeks later we started getting charges again. Never a specific amount but like $7 then $16 then $5 sometimes more than once per day. My husband called and was told they were bringing the account current. It already was when we cancelled. After that the random charges continued and they simply stopped responding to our calls about them. We had to go through the bank and begin a fraud investigation to get the charges to stop. It was ridiculous. Outside of the horrible fraud the place is also dirty and has no AC. Try tanning in the summer with no AC and getting your money's worth without passing out. The workers are pushy someone tried to sell me tanning lotion for $100 for ten minutes and basically acted like I was stupid not to get the right stuff for this bargain. (I am pretty sure this was the owner). All in all run don't walk. Go to the nice ladies on Airport rd for great cuts only $8 been in business with happy customers since I was tagging along with my dad as a little girl.




DO NOT step your foot in their doors!!!!! Owner Ron Thatcher is a fraud and a BULLY!!! He has ripped so many people off including me, and will continue to do so unless YOU do something about it! This business needs to be SHUT down! They rush you to "fill out the top portion, then sign and date, then they want your driver's license and debit/credit card so they can make a copy of your face and credit card", then they can take money out of your account whenever they want to. There is fine print on the bottom which NO ONE reads and his employees will rush you through everything so that you don't read the fine print. The fine print reads "Member agrees to a once a year 19 facilities enhancement annually beginning 4 months from start date." It DOES NOT say that they will charge you $19 for an annual fee!!!

Also, the employees will beat around the bush and say that they don't have a number to contact the owner so you have to CONSTANTLY keep leaving messages which Ron will not call you back. The only option I had was to send him a letter and I sent it CERTIFIED RETURN RECEIPT so that you know for a fact that someone had to sign for it once they received it. That's when I FINALLY received a call back from him and he was an arrogant BULLY who threatened to call the cops for harassing his employees! OH REALLY??? Boy was I scared!!! He was upset because I wouldn't let up on leaving messages! All I wanted was my $19 back because he took it out of my credit card after only 3 months, regardless if I used their service 3 times in 3 months for 12 minutes each time. Again, NOWHERE does it say in his contract that you will be charged $19 for an annually fee. He uses lingo to trick you, the consumer. I had full intentions of taking him to small claims court een if it was going to cost me $101 to file. Thankfully, I gave them a credit card instead of a debit card so I called my bank and filed a complaint against his company. They credited my account and a full investigation is going on. Make sure to jot down dates, times, and who you spoke to.


I have never been so insulted in my life i started my membership 3 months ago the owner was there and told me if i had a credit card to put on File i could pay cash every month so i gave him the 360.00 to sighn up and paid cash every month i later found out he was trying to charge my credit card for my monthly fees also maitnence fees this that and everything under the sun me and my 4 year old daughter were there getting my nails done and ron patcher the owner came in so i asked him why he then said his employees steel my cash and go to lunch his employee was there she told him i pay every month and i didnt owe he was cussing and yelling so loud my 4 year old freaked out my last payment showed in the books but not on the computer so he continued yelling and orderd me and my f------ing daughter to get out of his shop before he called the cops on ME that is over 700.00 they have gotten from me in 3 months and his employees THAT HE SAYS ARE THEIVES JUST STOOD THERE AS ME AND MY DAUGHTER LEFT CRYING!!!!!!!!! WHAT WOULD YOU DO



Horrible customer service

All I wanted was the haircut program. usually when I went in there wouldn't be a stylist in the shop. I don't work odd hours. After 4 months I was billed $19 for each of the 4 people on my account. When I asked about it I was told it was for upkeep on their beds. Thats a cost of doing business and I should not have to pay for equipment I don't use. When I tried to cancel they charged me for the month two weeks after I canceled saying I had to be current. Additionally the young boy that claims to own the place was very rude and unintelligent.





I was excited to see a $10 monthly package. But after a few weeks I noticed the place wasn't taking care of their beds. The beds were always really dirty. Underneath the glass you can see tons of hair. This really grossed me out and I decided to cancel. When I cancelled they sent me to collections and now I have a collection company call me everyday trying to collect $60+ for my past due account. Uhhh - get it together Santa Cruz!




I go and get my nails done at Santa Cruz Tanning Co. and Kaci does them for me. She is absolutely amazing!! I have gone every where in Carson and this is the only place that seems to get them right. If you are looking for a fun place to get your nails done or your hair done I highly recommend it! Santa Cruz has amazing deals on tanning, hair care and nails.




I work at the National Guard Dept, so I need my high and tight weekly. $10 a month for unlimited cuts with Gisele!! 775-887-0525




This is the former Tanning Etc.. The new owner is a woman who seems to have done a great job fixing up the place. They have honored all my tanning sessions from the previous owner and even gave me some bonus lotion. I had recently upgraded to Pacific Tanning by Wal-mart and they also went out of business and they honored my remaining sessions for that location too.

I tan unlimited for $10 bucks a month. Great deal and the staff is really friendly.
