Union Electric Steel Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ampco-Pittsburgh Corporation, was founded in 1923 as a manufacturer of forged steel products. Since 1930, Union Electric Steel has made forged steel rolls its sole product. This specialization has made Union Electric Steel among the world leaders in the forged steel roll market. The company has a global customer base that is served by a staff of sales engineers. Corporate headquarters are in Carnegie, Pa. The company also owns the Davie Roll Company of the United Kingdom and has a sales office in Belgium to provide sales and customer support for Europe, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America.

Overall

I can absolutely say beyond a shadow of doubt UE makes the best solid steel roll in the world. They are the Rolls Royce of steel manufacturing, they are the most precise in tolerance, concentricity, run out ( within 1 tenth of a thousand of an inch, hardness , absolutely the best..... I worked there for 30 years, they are the best, from China to Korea, to England, to Brazil, absolutely the best!
