I had the very best customer service that I have had in 40+ years at Toyota Carlsbad from Vanessa and Walt in installing cruise control in my new Toyota car which a sales person said that I did have and because I didn't check it first before leaving the lot I did call when I got home to explained I needed it to travel now so they were wonderful in sending someone out to my home today to install it for free. Now that is good service and reason enough to always go back to Toyota Carlsbad in the future. Thank you Walt and Vanessa for excellent customer service. This company is amazing!!!!
I happened to visit this place two times (unfortunately).
First I went to their used car section, the guy greeted us with great enthusiasm, started showing corolla, he showed us 16K driven car and told the price 17K, as one of my friend bought the same car new for 16340 $ + 2K (dmv reg etc), I questioned him why are you selling a used car for 17K, he immediately showed his real nature, the first thing he said was "I have never heard anything more ridiculous in my life", next "why have you come here go to where your friend bought the car from", next was "Go to KIA". he was very arrogant and rude and while he was saying all this to us, we realized that we are standing near to the road and people are seeing us and smiling.
Second, after 2 days I went to their new car section with my friend who bought a new car (19340 $ on road) few days back they said they selling the car on 0% interest, 345 $ per month X 60 months with 1K down payment, which amounts to 21700 $, it should be 300 $, when I questioned how it is 0%, and he had no answer, what he said to me was, you are getting 7K per month and you are seeing 45 $ extra, if that's the case we have a problem.
In short, this place is full of lies, no ethics, no manners, if this is their sales, god knows how will be there service.
What did we like about our sales consultant, Gavin? 1. He actually LISTENED to us. 2. He provided answers to our questions. 3. He followed through on what he promised. 4. He treated us like people as opposed to just a “Sales Statistic”. I did my homework. I knew how much the vehicle would cost in Los Angeles and Orange counties. I spoke or visited several dealerships. Gavin was straightforward. I asked for his best price. He did not waste my time or try to pull any of the “time honored” manipulative tricks on me. We have bought several types of vehicles (large box trucks, vans, stake bed trucks, “luxury” cars, rv's, and [quote]economy[quote] cars) over the years since we own multiple businesses. We are accustomed to, though sick of, long drawn out negotiations with “closers” upon “closers”. NONE of that occurred with Gavin. This deal was actually done quickly, cleanly, and pleasantly. We WILL call him FIRST when we buy our next Toyota. Time and effort is paramount in business. He was aware of, and respected that.
I heartily recommend you visit Toyota Carlsbad if you are looking to lease a new car. I just finalized my second lease with Toyota Carlsbad, and I am completely satisfied. The fleet manager, Duff Joy, personally took care of me. He is a man of integrity and helped me find a great deal that fit my needs. The finance department had a coffee machine that ground fresh Starbucks for me and everyone who walked by had a warm smile. This was a big decision for me and I felt like Toyota Carlsbad treated me well.
Just recently purchased my car here and I'm confident to say I am more than pleased with my purchase. Julio Aquino did an exceptional job in helping me find a car fit for myself. I would definitely recommend him for a welcoming and exciting search for a new vehicle. Buying a car isn't always easy but with the amazing help of Julio Aquino, I'm sure you will be able to find what you need!
Omar Curry at Toyota Carlsbad made my car buying experience great. He spent a lot of time with me and I test drove three different cars. Since I didn't have a vehicle, he sent someone to bring me to the dealership. I bought a 2015 Toyota Avalon and couldn't be more happy with it.
Recently purchased 2015 4Runner and special thanks to Duff Joy, for making this deal smooth and flawless transaction. Duff had to locate one from other dealership to meet my family needs and he was able to deliver. Duff is very knowledgeable and responsible in handling this transaction, Duff is also efficient and prompt in responding to text messages on this experience. When I came to pick up the vehicle, everything is in place and ready for me.
For the financial aspect, I would like to Thank Nicole M. Nielsen for a smooth and flawless financial transaction. She was able to match my credit union loan rate with any inconvenience. She was very knowledgeable and efficient along the process.
I would definitely come back to see Duff and Nicole if I need to purchase another vehicle.
Again Duff and Nicole is a great asset of Toyota, Carlsbad.
Thank you both and the management of Toyota, Carlsbad.
Giving it one star so that we can narrate our horrible experience.
When we called our call was answered by a salesman called Jose Sanchez. The name of salesman looks very common and easy to remember and it is same as our experience which was extremely frustrating and something that we will remember all life long.
Here goes the story - when called we asked for a specific make, model, options and color. We gave 2nd and 3rd choice of the color as well. We were told that we have everything one in stock and if you come today you will be able to drive home the car. We mentioned that we have an existing quote from Toyota of Poway - we were told that no matter what the price is, we will beat it or at least match it.
We took early time off from work and stopped everything at home to head over.
And look what happens:
1. The person who talked to us is not available, not sure where he is... we were told he is at Used Car Sales and someone's finance is getting worked on... after that we are asked to wait for his buddy in the middle of parking lot unattended... No one comes .. seems like no one wants to attend the customer....
2. After a while the person who greeted us comes back and tells I will take care of you.. but the color you were promised is not in stock.... BUMMMMMER... the justification is ridiculous .... we sold it and we forgot to take it off the inventory... GREAT.. a 22K item gets sold in this dealership and no one wants to maintain the inventory... amazing system.. Toyota should have done an audit here....
Without looking at our emotions... the salesperson frankly says.. you should be happy we have your choice #2 available.... amazing how this dealership honors someone's liking .. the salesperson should have got same experience when he/she is buying the car for himself/herself ...
This is just a start...
We asked for the gentleman who spoke to us, and see what.. no one cares to make us speak to the salesperson. Either they are hiding a person or they are hiding a robot :) ...
3. After we were disappointed, the salesperson helping us disappears for 15 mins and then comes back saying "we have your choice of color in shipment and it is arriving in a week, let's do the numbers and you pay us so, we can block a car for you".
4. When started discussing numbers, the salesperson took the quote from us - wrote it on a paper where got my sign saying if I give you at this price, you will buy it right now.. I signed..
5. The salesperson goes inside saying "I am going to talk to my boss" - comes back and says your quote is a invalid and no such vehicle exists and starts bitching about Toyota of Poway to cover their inabilities to please a customer.
He raises the price by 15% and even doesn't offer invoice price ... saying us "take it or leave" nothing else can be done.
All the hard work, talk in vain - thankfully I did not sign on any of the credit application form as I was really worried what will happen to my information if I tell them to shred the paper..
After spoiling our whole evening we returned home with an extremely horrible experience at Toyota Carlsbad.
Our recommendation is - if you are staying away from this place, don't bother about calling or going this place. Just want to save your time and money.
After being completely blown out of the water with dishonest sales people in LA, I emailed Carlsbad Toyota as a last ditch effort. I recieved an email right back with all the information and an Internet price for the car we were looking to buy. I talked with the Internet sales person and worked out some numbers. My husband went down and everything was just as what was agreed upon on the phone! This was the easiest car buying experience we have ever had! We would totally buy from Carlsbad Toyota again. For us the drive was well worth it!!!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with our dealership. Our car broke down on the way to San Diego. All of a sudden the thermostat light, engine and I guess all the possible lights turned on, the car started to make a noise and as we pulled off the fwy the car turned off. We were close to the Toyota Carlsbad, so we had the tow truck take us there. We got there and as the paperwork was done, there was a $99.00 estimate on the paperwork to diagnose the problem. We rented a car and waited for their call to let us know the problem. Our service adviser called in the early afternoon to tell us that there was a problem with the motor and she went into detail of the parts and labor... She asked if I accepted the estimate of $1348.00, after talking, we said ok. She did mention that they might find perhaps something else yet, so they will let us know, so we agreed. We waited and no phone call... The next day, at about 5PM I called to see the update of the car, just to find out that they had decided the repairs would be $7500.00. We are talking about a Scion XB 2004!!! Anyhow, the next morning we call to let them know that we had decided to tow the car back home, at that time, they informed us that the balance was $1348.00, the estimate approved by us. Not understanding what was going on, we questioned it and their answer was that it was the cost of coming up with an estimate to repair the car. I was frozen, almost didn't know what to say. As I argued, they dropped the price to $745.00. In my life I had had someone charge me $745.00 to tell me what is wrong with any of the cars I have owned. Maybe if it was a Ferrari, but a scion? My service adviser was NOT available to speak with the next day, neither the following day till the afternoon, and although she gave me her cell... no answer. She called me later the day we towed the car back home, due to the fact that the other service adviser didn't want to respond to the estimate given by her, at that time she claimed that she explained clearly that it was the price of the estimate, as I responded that if she had explained that, I would have NEVER agreed to pay $1,348.00 for an estimate, she was rude and didn't care in any way, she tried to be professional and said that "she was sorry" that I had miss understood! and basically hang up on me. Need to say anymore?...
