Went there back to back for breakfast. Tons of food to choose from. The mushroom quiche is really good. There is hot and cold meals to take on the road.
So many friends recommended this bakery so when we were in Santa Cruz for my daughters soccer tournament we had to try it. So glad we did! The hardest thing was deciding what to order. The chocolate croissants were probably our favorite. Can't wait to go back when we're in the area.
Delicious sandwiches and grab and go deli items, with plenty of yummy desserts to choose from. The service is top notch, so efficient even when the line is out the door!
To be quite honest, I think someone named Christine Klose's rudeness spreads like a contagious disease.
This bakery is amazing! So many delicious items to choose from: cookies, cakes, pastries, breads, breakfast/savory items. You have to see it for yourself! A must visit in Capitola.
Gayle's has been a staple in the Santa Cruz area for years. There food is phenominal, desserts to die for and the patio is a great place to eat and soak up the coastal sun. I bought my wedding cake from Gayle's 10 years ago and people are still talking about it. I drive all the way from San Jose to have lunch at Gayle's.

Provided by Citysearch -On a visit to see extended family a couple years ago (we are from Portland, Oregon), while poking around in the antique shops in Capitola, we happened upon Gayle's Bakery. It was perfect timing because we were looking for lunch. I am so glad we stopped in. Our lunch was so unforgettable that we went back a few times during our short stay. The breads we brought back home were also fabulous! I continue to think about Gayle's to this day. This year, I plan on ending my misery and ordering at least some bread from the bakery. Sometimes, I feel like I could relocate to Capitola because of Gayle's. It is just that good.
