If you want to fence that looks good and people don't know what you're talking about go with butter Builders fence

installed a fence in 2012 during the rain; after we discovered several panels that had flaking paint. They came out, agreed, and said they would replace them since they have a life-time warranty. After 3 years of calls and other methods, the panels were replaced June 2015. They don't remove the dirt they dig up and don't clean the fence. If you consider this good customer service - they're your company! Giving them one star because the website requires a rating.



my cedar fence

I love my new wood fence it looks great and the cedar smells great I was so glad. I was a little weary after reading some of the reviews but I was told when I signed it would be 4 to 6 weeks it did take a little longer but it was well worth it. I will use them again in the future to put the one side I couldn't afford till next year in.



THE WORST!!!! Do you want a ...

THE WORST!!!! Do you want a shoddy job done on your fence? Do you want your neighbors to threaten to sue you? Do you want 4 inch screws sticking out of the fence threatening to harm your children? Do you want a gate that will barely open because of poor installation of both the latch and gate itself? Do you want a fence a fat guy could easily crawl under? Do you want to get the runaround for three months when you try to get your issues resolved. Then you will love this company. The owner will take your money and run. His office will tell you that you are next on the list and the owner will not call you back. That is what they have done to me. Their own installers said my fence was in poor shape and they said they did not have time to fix it that day. The job was so bad that a 12 hour install will take four hours to fix. Of course they will not send anyone to fix it. That is a fine warranty they have. They make the excuse they were taken by some poor installers who misrepresented their experience, but that is not an excuse. The work done at my house is worse than awful. Their ability to honor the five year warranty is worse than awful. I may have to hire another company to do their warranty work and sue for the cost. If you use this company, you have been warned.



Probably average, maybe a little worse.

We wanted a privacy fence for one side of our yard. We called Home Depot who contracts through a local installation company. I also stopped by Better Builders Fence on Michigan Ave in Canton. I had driven by their shop for years. After we received estimates from both, we decided on Better Builders because we had a better vibe from the estimator. We were promised an installation team who would take care of our plants and do their best to preserve what we had. We waited several weeks for the building permit to come back from the city. This wait is expected. We called before we left for vacation asking when they thought they'd be out. They didn't have a permit yet so they couldn't offer us a date yet. I said I'd call when we returned and check then.

When we returned from vacation we found our old fence removed. (Fine, we paid for that.) And some of my wife shredded plants in the driveway. No call to tell us they were coming, nothing. We had a small tree which needed moving. We called the office they assured us they would help move this tree for us. The installers idea of moving this tree was by cutting it down. My wife stopped them just before they did. The install crew refused to move the tree. My wife dug up the tree. Also, our detail oriented install crew would stand on the plants they weren't crushing with the fence then say, "Sorry, they'll grow back." They simply didn't care about anything except getting that fence installed and getting out of there.

We knew we were going to lose some plants. That's fine. But these guys did absolutely nothing to preserve anything we had. If they could have at least warned us so we could move things, just a knock on the door. We were home. They were rude and the office while not rude did zero to satisfy us. We really didn't ask for much.

How's the fence? It's fine. It seems to be installed straight. It's a good looking product. This vinyl fence is not unique to BBF. Many companies install this brand. BBF pricing average.


-Fence installed ok.

-Gate works well.

-Nice looking.


-What they promised as far as service they didn't deliver.

-The office promised their installers would help us move a tree. The installers said no. Office and installers don't agree.

-They never called to set up an appointment. They just showed up.

-The office and the installers didn't care if we were happy or not. They just wanted it done.

-They don't care about customer service.

-Follow up to see how we like it? Yeah, right.

-I sure hope I don't need to use my 5 year warranty.

I'm rating them average because the fence is installed and good looking. They could have picked up another star by just being nice to us. 2 stars for a modest effort in customer service.
