Pete G.

I called them today to get a price on two items- topsoil and grass seed. Topsoil was quoted at 2.49 a 40 pound bag, and Penn State grass seed, 11.99 for a 5 pound bag- far from the lowest cost, but they were close so I decided to pay the extra. When I got there I was told that the prices were 2.99 a bag for topsoil and 14 for the Penn State grass seed. The cashier said that they'd honor the phone quote. Then a manager of some sort came around and said, "our prices are clearly marked, those are the prices". I said thanks and walked out, and, I was leaving, he said in a real sarcastic tone of voice, "you have a lovely day". I'm driving down to Walmat where 40 pound bags of topsoil go for $1.37 and the grass seed is also a lot cheaper. If Miller thinks its ok to lure customers into its store with this kind of tactic, I won't even go in there for small hardware items anymore. The hardware stores in Canonsburg are close enough.
