Outstanding service... I highly recommend you come to see Kim. She is the best. The place is very nice and clean. All the workers are friendly and walk away as one happy custommer
The guy was rude. I told him I wanted gel nail Polish no fake nails. He kept asking if I wanted a full set and I said no just the nail Polish. Not all places call it shellac so I said gel. Then he pulls out the fake nails and I said no. He begins to argue that I said full set. My nails are uneven and he didn't say a word to me after. I will not try this place again.
Had a terrible experience here. A girlfriend and I, both from outside the Anchorage area, booked an appointment for express gel manicures and pedicures. The salon seemed overwhelmed and poor communication/attitude between staff members was noted immediately, something that should not happen in front of customers. My technician seemed flustered and rushed but was quiet pleasant. He did, however, mess up one of my big toes by not putting it under the UV lamp when he thought he had and smudged the whole nail, causing him to have to redo it and a noticeable line underneath the top two coats of polish. The middle finger of my right hand developed a bubble underneath the polish almost immediately upon leaving the salon causing the polish to peel back on itself and reveal a large hole in the polish 2 days later. My pinkey nail did the same thing within 4 days. My girlfriend received an infection on her big toe from her pedicure several hours later as well as bubbles developing underneath layers of nail polish causing the polish to peel off the nails within less than a week.I called with the news of the infection and the bubbles underneath the nails within 2 days of initial services. The woman working had me send photos of each grievance to her phone and I was assured I would be contacted again. When I had not been contacted again for over a week I called the salon and asked to speak with the manager, explaining my situation all over again, now a week and a half later, to the manager who gave the impression she had no idea a complaint had already been filed. The only compensation I was offered was a 50% discount on a future service or 2 free Basic Manicures, neither of which satisfy me as I explained multiple times that we are not from Anchorage and will not be driving 2 hours for nail services, especially sub-par nail services. To say I will never go back here or recommend it to anyone are vast understatements.
I went in to get a deluxe pedicure this past week. Not only did I get a regular pedicure the young girl who did it got my toe infected!!! I'm disgusted. Their tools I'm guessing are not that clean. Waste of my time and money, I called in to express to them what happened and nothing. They basically said oh well and hung up on me. Didn't offer any apology, to refund my money, nothing. I will not go back.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!! It took 2 1/2 hours for a pedicure and a full set. I asked for a flower on two toes, the flower was so ugly and tacky, that I thought maybe she wasn't done. When I asked to make it a little more prettier, she made it worse. Then the design I wanted on ONE finger on my hand, which was so simple, she screwed that up too, and didn't even attempt to fix it. She just left it there. I was so tired of being there, that I finally paid and left. That night, my nails just started looking worse and worse. The gel, she supposedly used, that I paid extra for, was all clumpy and gross looking by the time I woke up. The next day I went somewhere else to get my designs fixed. The guy did an amazing job and I found out I didn't even have gel on my nails.
I have gone to Ivy Nails 2 times. The first for a mani/pedi fora vacation. They did great work. The second time I got a full pedi and full set. The pedi was as great as the first time. The full set was quality but not filed into a shape I like. I went back the next day and wanted them reshaped and a polish change that they were rather snotty about. I didn't mind paying for it since the lady had asked me if it was ok and I said yes. Their unfriendly demeanor was something I had not experienced. It was a big turn off. Idk if i Wil go back or not. The service had been great up until this. I'd rate it 3.5 but it won't let me.
This was by far the worst pedicure I have ever had in my life. I got a basic pedicure for $30 and had to remind her about the leg massage and hot towel wrap. The sanitation practices leave much to be desired they reuse the flip flops without cleaning them between clients. I have been here several times and this was by far the worst time I've ever had and will not go back again mainly due to the lack of cleanliness in there practice.
I don't know why I keep trusting these people at LA Nails to do my nails! Every single time that I have gone in there they always do what they want to my nails and never what I ask of them! I ask them to make them thick, because every time I leave their place my nails just pop off completely and they make them thin anyway and tell me they will look thick. Well d***, that what I asked for isn't it! I ask them too make them a curtain length and my nails look like a stairway too heaven! I asked them to make them square with clean rounded edges, but they made them square and sharp as knifed at the edge! When I ask them to fix what they had done they tried to charge me too do so! I wanted so badly to curse them out for this, but I use to work in this mall and I know these people, so I had respect for them because of that! Well not anymore! These people are really nasty and I would recommend that people don't go there to get your nails and feet done! They don't clean anything in there! They let the dirty water out off the message chair tubs and just rinse it out with water, leaving any bacteria from other people's feet to get on you're, thankfully I have known this for years so I never allow them to do my feet! We would laugh about it all the time and they still wouldn't clean it even after myself and others that work in the mall would tell them that's nasty! They don't clean the bail station either! So when I get my nails done there I never touch the tabletop! I got my nails done two days ago and I have already lost five nails and no I'm not ruff with my hands! There were cracks and bubbles in all of my nails when I got them done! I asked the owner as well to fix them but he said $5 a nail too fix them and I had never even left the chair after they first let them do my nails! He was doing my nails as I was asking him to fix them! I was so upset with the way they do business that I left without letting him polish them! Whatever you do please stay away from this place!
I recently just got my nails done at the Huffman location after I finished my finals at UAA. I decided to treat myslef and get shallac nails. My friend and I came right after our final exam and while she started to get her manicure I waited next to her for almost 15/20mins and was told we would be done together. After waiting to the point where she was already getting her polish on they just started my manicure and it was a slow process. After getting my nails trimmed and cleaned the lady doing mine who was very nice stopped and I waited another 10 mins for someone else to finish my nails. The man that continued my nails seemed to be in a huge rush and tried to catch me up to my friend. (Who had already gotten 3 layers of color and getting the top coat on) as he was rushing I noticed that it was a little messy he only did a coupl layers of color (as it was not as dark as it appears on the wall) and the gel polish was on my skin on almost all 10 of my fingers. I didn't say much as I felt rushed and in a hurry , however within 10 mins of leaving the gel that was on my skin had started to hurt and peel off and as it peeled off my skin it also chipped off half of the entire thumb gel/polish. I am not the person to complain and get refunds, but I only treat myself to this kind of stuff about once a year. I called the salon back and they of course were very and accommodating and told me to come back and fix it. They ended up fixing 2 of the messy ones and were very good and precise about it, but today 2 different nails are starting to peel off and I'm a little disappointed for having to pay so much for something that should last me weeks. Still a great nail salon and I hope to return but maybe next time I'll request to see a specific person instead.
