All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
Hey ya’ll this is going to be one of my first reviews. Yay Me. After my SUV had a fight with a parking structure and lost, my bumper was caved in and there was a BIG dent on my fender which was rusting. I hadn't wash my car in months, because I I didn't want it to rust even more. Needless to say, it wasn't looking so nice. At least I have a garage, so it could have been worse. After getting an estimate and being shocked by the amount, I went online and found a good solid rating for Modern Bench Operation. Since it wasn't too far from my house, I decided to check it out. I met with Pete on Tuesday, who gave me an estimate on the spot, without an appointment. He was friendly, didn't talk down to me and was honest. Being a girl, that is very important to me. The estimate was over 1/2 the amount cheaper. I dropped off my car on Thursday and picked it up on Saturday. You can't get much better than a 2 day turnaround. The work is awesome. No more dent, no rust, a good looking bumper, the marks on my headlight were buffed out and my car is finally clean!! I met Pete when I picked up my car. What a nice guy. This is a family owned place and you can tell by their treatment. I believe in giving mom and pop places business, so if you are in need of some work on your car, give this great shop called Modern Bench Operation a chance. You will not be disappointed.
I would have to say "WOW"!!! they do exist. Its hard to find a shop that cares the way this one doe's. First the employees, very professional very customer friendly very polite. The check in was very fast and very professional Tamara was very instrumental in making sure that all the information was correct in all areas, contact info, vehicle info, and particular to the work to be done. The shop, very organized and clean, as are the employees. This is a very customer friendly shop and very professional in every meaning of the word. I am a retired auto tech. who is very particular about the person that touches my car. So if you really want to know my opinion about this business if I could I would rate it a TEN STAR business. And if you don't believe me then the next time you need work stop by for an estimate and see for your self. I always say seeing is believing. Thank You MBO.
The Best in The WEST!!!! If you break down on a hot day because your car overheated, or smash into the center devide on a rainy day. If your battery is dead because your kids decided to play with the headlights while parked in the garage, or even if the kids decided to drop your keys inside the locked car... Orrrr you can be like me and drive tooo fast on highway 9 and drive my GMC 200 feet straight down a wet muddy bug infested cliff.. Dicks Automotive to the rescue!! I was fortunate that the crew that came with the beautiful rigs were the best of the west and knew exactly what to do. Knowledge and efficiency!! Got my truck out with little to no damage! Towed me home with a smile, and continued about their business to go save anyone else that needed help that day! Customer for life!!! If you want the best, call Dicks Automotive!
I got rear ended in my Prius at a stop light and took my car to Modern Bench Ops to get it fixed. They were incredibly friendly and dealt with the entire insurance mess with Mercury insurance. I was given an enterprise rental car at no cost during the time it was being fixed. The bumper apparently did not meet Josh's standards when it came back from painting so he had it repainted. The car now looks as good as the day I bought it. There was a bit of a snafu with the insurance company where they were dragging their feet authorizing the work but I was very impressed with MBO's customer service and they definitely bent over backwards to make the experience as pleasant as possible. They made the insurance mess effectively invisible and dealt with almost all of it themselves. I really appreciated that.
First I want to thank my friend Daniel for recommending this body shop, where he currently works. i was recently involved in a fender bender . i have never never been an accident ever! the office made my visit there very helpful, and i left there with a very positive feeling since it was my first time leaving my car at a body shop . they replaced the fender an bumper. the body work was excellent, an the paint...wow!!! what a color match . the detailing on my car is amazing, when i left my car at the shop i was a bit embarrassed it was so messy.. wow it looks so clean like when i first bought it ... modern bench thank you for all help great work . god bless you an thank you . you have a customer for life. i will recommend my familia an my friends for everything
I had a small collision to my car and live south of lovely Campbell. I found Modern Bench Operation Collision by searching online (what else) and it was a great decision to use them. Easy to find, close to home, and Pete and crew were great. Time for repair was accurate, work was excellent and experience could not have been better. Any issue I had was quickly addressed and corrected to my taste and I can be picky. Pete also is a great guy and is very responsible in reviewing your car before and after the repair. Open a short time on Saturday helped as well. I highly recommend and recommend to my friends and use them again. They deal real well with insurance companies and rental car business, so they take the worries and difficulties away.
Modern bench operations rocks!!!!! This has been the most professional experience I've received from an auto shop. I've came to notice that most shops care about profit margins rather than quality of work or customer service. Not at MBO auto body. Karl ( the manager ) has great communication skills and doesn't make you feel like you are being deceive. He`ll layout everything for you so that you'll understand what works need to be done, and how much. He`ll even set things up with your insurance company to make sure your out of pocket spending is kept to a minimum. There`s no other shop in town that compete with that. I highly recommend MBO, great job guys.
OK, this is a review perhaps a little different from the average consumer who visits a body shop, because in my case I had my car painted...um...twice in two weeks. The first time, Modern Bench Operations ("MBO") did a FANTASTIC job of aligning the body panels we assembled onto the car and laying down a beautiful (perhaps too nice for a race car....yes a race car...but I'm a perfectionist) three color paint scheme. The second time..um..two weeks later, they mounted new body parts, matched paint, and again laid down three colors because of an on-track "mishap". Great work, great paint, great service, and a great team.
Dear John & Maria, I appreciate the great help you have been to my Jag, my family cars and me over the last three years. I am completely impressed with your courteous customer service and efficient repair history. You made my Jaguar experience a pleasant one. I appreciate your conscientious work ethic that allows you to take that extra step for your customers. You and your staff are very impressive and I would refer others to Exclusive British European without hesitation. Thank you for a safe and trustworthy experience with auto maintenance. Sincerely, Joyce Fletcher
I won't take my cars anywhere else.I "found" this place when I had to have new tires put on a 2000 Jeep. We bought the tires online and they recommended this firm for installation. I'm taking an 87 T-bird in today for smog as well. I have older cars that need a little more attention than just taking them to Jiffy Lube. Their work is done well; they don't try and sell me something I do not need and they work with my schedule. The best part is their shop is clean and the service techs are friendly not to mention their prices are very competitive.
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
