The Caldwell Police Department is responsible for the prevention, control and reduction of crime. The department is a part of the Department of Public Safety of the City of Caldwell in Idaho. Established in 1903, the Caldwell Police Department operates various divisions, including code enforcement and crime analysis. The department conducts residential and commercial security surveys throughout the city. It also operates the Citizen Police Academy, which offers opportunities for citizens to learn about police operations. The Caldwell Police Department s criminal investigation unit deals in homicide, fraud, and sex, children and computer crime cases. Additionally, the department coordinates the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. It operates a victim witness unit that assists crime victims and provides support and educational services.
