Founded in 1965, Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity, also known as CVOEO, is a nonprofit, community action agency that offers a variety of services for low-income individuals. It administers various housing, weatherization, micro business, technical assistance, training and food shelf programs. The agency also provides the Head Start program, which includes family-centered services for parents and children in the areas of health and nutrition. Additionally, Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity provides crisis intervention, support and advocacy services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse through its Voices Against Violence program. The agency maintains a 24-hour crisis helpline that offers services to the residents of Franklin and Grand Isle counties in Vermont.
