Great spot with hot girls on both sides of the bar

I just started going to the Vinyl Room last month, and I must say that it's my new spot when it comes to partying on the peninsula! Before Vinyl, I would hang out at the Alabi or O'Neill's, but lately those places have just been full of dudes. Getting drunk with a bunch of guys, realy isn't my idea of fun, so I decided to check out the Vinyl Room on a Thursday and was pleasently suprised with the amount of girls it attracts. Every time I have gone to the Vinyl Room, I am surrounded by girls...UPGRADE!
The crowd is awesome, and the staff is great too. I love all 3 female tenders (they are the best!) and Beau is a great guy to have behind the bar as well..I got trashed one night at the bar, and he gave me a ride home. They all pour the drinks real heavy, so I always leave with a nice buzz!
The DJs are great, I think DJs are only there Wednesday through Saturday, but they really mix things up - from 80s music to 90s rock. They always take requests and keep the crowd happy.
If you're tired of sitting with a bunch of dudes in a bar with a crappy music selection and no girls... check out the Vinyl Room - I really think you'll like it!

sickest spot in san mateo

dude this place is the best spot in san mateo area... great music... great drink, at reasonable prices, the people that work there rock. no cover, not really a line, close to the train and always a cab around.... place is sick

This place sucks!!

Had a party there with a few friends one of mine was attacked in the restroom by one of the regulars and we were kicked out although we were not involved. Some of my party were not let in due to attire but yet again a regular was inside with a sweat suit and tennis shoes on, seemed to be a stereotype location and ignorant folks working at the door, walked up to a group of people hanging out in front and none seemed to want to look at ID's why have a door man if he isn't going to work. This place was just a joke all around and I would not recommend anyone to this location!!

Obsessed with Vinyl Room

My friends and I love Vinyl Room! It?s nice to have a fun place like this in Burlingame. It has an SF bar/lounge feel to it, but it?s located on the peninsula, so it?s not such a hassle to get there. The staff is great, everyone is extremely friendly. Juan and Jose, the owners are amazing. The one downside is, they won?t play Bay Area music, because they are afraid people might get too hyphy [sad :( ]. Besides that, Friday and Saturdays are great night to go, because they have a DJ and the place is packed.

THIS IS A MUST SEE TO BELIEVE HOT SPOT!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place because it's full of great Bartenders with Beautiful smiles. Everytime I go, I meet new people who are very friendly and good looking. The ambience is trendy and low key but when the house DJs come in, they ROCK the HOUSE!!! I recommend checking it out at least once because you'll be HOOKED and will return again. I SURE DID!!! Make sure to dress to impress because you don't want to miss out on the opportunity to party with the BEST!!! SEE YOU ALL THERE SOON!!! =)

A Diamond in the Rough!!

The first time i walked into this bar i was amazed that i had previously overlooked such a gem. This is not your average Burlingmae bar, where the questionable crowd is controlling the music of the night via Jukebox, Nor is it something you could easily find in the city without paying a cover charge only to overpay for more drinks throughout the night, if you're dressed appropriately enough to get in at all. The Vinyl Room has NO DRESSCODE and NO COVER CHARGE, which is surprising because they have some Incredible D.J's Weds-Sunday with alternating themes (I.E. OLD school Hip hop, Reggae, House, and Mash ups). I happened to be there on a friday night where the bartenders were kickin, whipping up awesomely strong drinks in a matter or seconds at a great price too. More than half of the people were dancing.. including the bartenders and the rest were either maintaining a quiet conversation in one of the Very private and comfortable couch's in the back of the lounge, or outside smoking a ciggaratte (which they also sell AT the bar). They have a HUGE variety or liquor, i was especially excited about the Fernette. The Decor was inviting and sleek, with the mixture of suede couches, leather ottomans, and a combination of graffiti and cultural art on the walls. I was surprised to hear from one of the very cool owners that they opt to keep their DJs away from ""hyphy"" music, and in turn keeping out the ""hyphy"" crowd. Sounds good to me!! The crowd on Friday was between the ages of 21-31, and my girlfriends and i encountered a lot of professionals who were in the bar for the amazing Happy Hour and never left, as well as some awesome Burlingame Locals, and a few people who came down from the city. In talking to the owner i was surprised to find out that on top of having DJs on all the expected nights, they also have one on Sunday night for.... REGGAE!! Go figure a Reggae club on Sunday in BURLINGAME?? I'm Checkin it out this Sunday! Final thoughts: How necessary, and Finally!!!

Peninsula's best hidden secret!

I visited Northern California a couple weeks ago and my buddies told me about this bar. So i checked it out. I would have to say I was impressed. Excellent lighting, stylish custom-made furniture and cool outgoing bartenders. I felt so comfortable eventhough i went by myself. I met the two owners (Juan and Jose) wow these guys are super nice and made me feel very welcome. They even took shots with me! I met many friendly approachable people that were hanging out there. Great looking crowd. The music the dj plays there i would have to say was, ""off the hook!"" I had a blast! Can't wait till my next trip to NorCal so i can visit that place again.

Great Place to Enjoy Good Drinks and Music

If you are looking for a trendy and comfortable lounge that is not far of a drive, then Vinyl Room is a great place to go. I absolutely love their music selection!! They play a mix of good music. Includes: house, reggae, hip-hop (not mainsteam though), etc... The best part about this place is that they always have a diverse crowd. People of all ages and races come here. The people are really friendly and I didn't seem to have any problems with the owners or bartenders. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a trendy lounge atmosphere that is closer than SF where you can enjoy good drinks, music, and people...

Not too shabby for Burlingame!

I went to Vinyl Room on a Friday night with my co-workers. We had fun !! This place is great for when u don't feel like driving to the city. The bartender made us a pretty yummy drink (I forgot what it was called...) We got there early when it was pretty mellow- which was kinda nice. It picked up later in the night and got pretty packed- but not too packed. We could still move around and dance comfortably. I didn't really see any ""wanna be thugs"" that night. The crowd was pretty chic when we were there.

Great Club/Lounge

In my opinion the best bar on the peninsula. A very upscale chic decor fits Burlingame perfectly. The female bartenders are very attentive and attractive. The place is usually full but not overly packed with a good mixture of people. The times I have been there I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Trendy spot with a great young vibe!

This is a great trendy spot to meet up friends and lounge with a few drinks. Ambience is really sophisticated and drinks are made well. I particulary enjoyed the scene as it wasn't too crowded nor rowdy. Location is ideal with plenty of parking around and shops and restaurants nearby. Great after dinner-date spot. I highly recommend if you're looking for fun music, an intimate dance floor and a good crowd to hang out with. Its got a great young vibe!

The dope spot in the mid-peninsula

This is a cool spot to go and chill.. It's a cool atmosphere thats welcoming to the average or stylish type.. Their selection of music is key.. Its not the typical top 40 untalented ear-sores that is heard at every single other club with people getting crunk, pretending to be ""gangstas"" and what not.. They have a perfect blend of deep soulful house to underground hip hop (depending on night) that creates a warm vibe that you can either relax to, or get up and show off a few moves.. Either way, it's a win-win situation because it keeps the wanna-be thugs out.. The crowds have been very cool and positive along with friendly, approachable owners and good looking bartenders.. I'd definitely cruise by this spot if your were in the area..

Lot's of potential, but not the place to get dressed up and go dancing.

Although I wasn't totally dissatisfied with the Vinyl Room, there were some things that made it just average.
First the negatives. The biggest issue I had was the fact that they (the owners) would not allow the DJ's to play anything remotely close to Top 40. The reason behind this rule is to keep a certain type of ""riffraff"" out of the club. I understand playing certain music will either encourage or discourage certain clientele, but not bending the rules can sometimes push good customers away. The music they played was ok, but there weren?t enough songs that you could dance to, which made people lose interest and leave. The club?s decor is chic and the customers seemed like wanna-be thugs (I guess thugs aren?t the riffraff the owners want to keep away). The drinks were average. I was given the wrong type of alcohol even though the bartender swore she gave me what I asked for. The drinks are a bit pricey too. I believe there are two owners; one was extremely nice and promoted his club is a very professional manner. I told him to get rid of his partner, because his was a bit rude. They advertise a dance floor. The dance floor is the space where no one is standing.
Ok, now for the positives. There is no cover. There was no line when I got there (but I did get there a bit early). One of their DJ?s came later in the night and danced with some of the girls on the dance floor; he was very entertaining.
Overall I believe this is an average club. I may give a second chance and go on Saturday?s when they play house music (which is more my style). If you are looking for a place to get dressed up and go dancing, this probably isn?t the best choice (on Friday?s anyway). This club is relatively new, and has a lot of potential. If the owner?s listen to some of the customers? requests, it will definitely be a club that I would visit again.
