As usual, the food and service here were outstanding. I had my usual scrumptious Tea Leaf Salad and then a light and delicious Vegetable Tempura (one of several tempuras available.) Then, I tried to fit in a lovely Burmese Chicken Curry (made “mild,” as requested.) Alas! No room! I was full. The atmosphere here is delightful and the space is big enough that I have never waited for a seat. They serve beer, wine and Saki... just the right accompaniments for this light, bright Asian food. The sushi is inestimable, too. It is made by a Master, whose wife is the culinary genius in the kitchen. You can’t go wrong here!
Wife and i both ordered dishes with poached eggs. After a long wait arrived RAW,uneatable. And add to that bothered by a unbathed dancing psycho they let dance thru the restaurant. This was saturday june 23 at noon.Overpriced terrible experince. Will leave this place to the local millenials
Most traditional Greek restaurant in western New York
Worst experience of my life! Took 39 minutes to get our order taken and another 50 to get our wings. Then the table across from us had 5 kids who insisted on laughing and yelling at tv-waitress said was not able to ask them to keep quiet. We attempted to leave but was told we would be “compensated” for our hour long wait and wings were on way out. After another 10 minutes we ate-bill never reflected any compensation and I was glad to leave and will never be back. Poor service-the waitresses were lazy and too busy talking to even check on there patrons! Will never return!
I ordered stuffed hot peppers had hair in my food also ordered pasta vodka that also had hair the one waitress tried to show me a rag they use to wipe the plates with and that it came from that but the rag was WHITE and the hair was BLACK she then brought out 2 different seasonings they use OREGANO and parcely trying to justify that the little pieces can look like hair because of the sticks. I’m pretty sure I know the difference between a stick and a piece of hair. Also there was a waiter walking around with a huge HICKEY on his neck that was visible from a mile away not to mention seeing 2 bus boys with their pants half pass their ASS! DEFINITELY WONT BE GOING BACK THERE TO EAT! All I got for my inconvenience was 3 cannolis and a $93.00 bill
A friend and I have been wanting to try this new Elmwood Village restaurant. Foodies at heart, we made reservations a week in advance for a Friday at 8pm.Upon our arrival the hostess indicated it would be 'just a moment as they were setting the table'. Three other guests arrived and people left and we were still waiting to be seated. There was no room at the bar.In frustration, I approached the hostess again asking what the point of making a reservation if we had to wait to be seated? She smiled, excused herself to see what the hold up was and came back indicating that someone would be right with us. Within seconds, they escorted us to a two-chair table next to the plastic and rail that would be open to the street if it were warmer. This place isn't shy with pricing. We ordered wine and a cheese and charcuterie board. For the price, it was a bit underwhelming, very little cheese, three types of meat, a small bowl of olives, lots of greens and some chutney. We each ordered entrees, veal medallions and the seafood risotto with plans to share. The veal was tough. My friends seafood (lobster) was bad with a heavy ammonia scent. How could the chef not know the seafood had gone bad? We flagged our server and indicated the issue, she removed the entree and asked if we wanted anything else and indicated she would remove the entree from the bill. We were over this place at this point. We requested our bill, nothing else was comped and we left. There are many wonderful restaurants in Western New York, with poor service and lack-luster food quality, I don't see them surviving. I can assure you, we won't be back.
One of my friends recommended this restaurant. I really enjoyed atmosphere and food. This is very nice and reasonable place. :)
I haven't went in. I always order through skip the dishes or grubhub. Food hasn't disappointed yet
Terrible experience!! Customer service by staff and manager Terry was horrible! Contacted corporate office, no email available, left 2 messages no call back yet. As I see it this company does not care about customers. I will spend my money elsewhere.
Yum! Love breakfast at Sophia's. As long as you can beat the crowd and don't have to wait (and drool in anticipation), it is the best breakfast place around!
