Don't waste your time or money, the food was disgracefully prepared.
The filet was absolutely tasteless, chewey and cooked improperly.
The so called crab bisque was thick and pastey with absolutely not a glimmer of crab or flavour. I've had better coming out of a can, yuk!!
The service was appauling, the soup was served with a spoon hanging out of it, there was no bucket for the crab shell.
No one ever came back to the table to see if we needed anything.
The so called manager/owner was indignate and didn't even apologize for our discontent but instead held firm to an attitude of non discript care.
There are so many really wonderful dinner houses in Buffalo that so far surpass the Scotch N Sirloin that I can not understand what keeps them in business.

On a restaurant strip where lot's of places come and go. To my understanding the Scotch has been around forever because of the quality of their steaks. My friend suggested this place for our party. It was a little pricey but the food was so worth it, picture perfect. The salad bar was very fresh and had lot's of choices including fresh pumpernickel bread, my favorite. The party that I was with really enjoyed themselves, maybe a little too much. We moved the party to the bar area after dinner and it was busy with a mixed crowd of people and some cute waitresses!!

My wife and I recently had a better than mediocre meal at the Scotch N Sirloin, although you can definitly do better elsewhere both on price and quality.
What torqued me off is this: the two times we have been there this year we were overcharged for items we never ordered or received. Both times! Each overcharge was $7.00 to $8.00. Just small enough to hopefully not be noticed but large enough to add up to some serious dough if done consistantly to numerous customers.
We eat out several times a week in lots of places and have encountered this little ""mistake"" a few times before.
Never once has the mistake been in our favor (undercharged) Always the error favors the house.
Coincidence?? I really suspect not.
When I brought this to the manager's attention he was apologetic and seemed truly concerned.
However, we don't need this kind of issue when trying to have a relaxing night out. With so many other excellent restaurants to choose from in the area we will skip the Scotch N Sirloin for forever with no tears shed.

Recently ate here for the first and last time. The decor has all the charm of a soup kitchen, and I'd guess the food quality is similar. The salad bar is laughable, they obviously haven't put a dime back into this place. Frequented by very old people who probably don't know much better. I implore you, don't make a mistake by going here, it's very expensive considering the very poor quality.

Seated 75 minutes after being told the wait was 30 - 45 minutes. The service was dismal. Obvious signs that we wanted something (closed menu, arms crossed, the look of Hey!! Over here!) seemed lost on the waitress. We had to ask for everything and all requests required a wait. Steaks were mediocre. Pricey for what we got. Undercooked to start. Then re-cooked to black on the outside and still undercooked inside. Service was lacking overall. Gross misjudgment by the hostess. Waitress overloaded with 2 large groups plus 4 5 additional tables- she never had a chance. The restaurant seems uncertain as to what it wants to be. Blue-jean oriented in the bar, with peanut shells on the floor, but pricing that causes one to choke. Do one or the other, but not both. Its not working. Hire more wait staff help and a hostess who can estimate time.
This is a good restaurant, the service can be cold and not very helpful. The salad bar is fresh but ordinary, and boring. Last time we were there we were crushed between the wall and a large, very loud party of 15.
The steaks are good but the last 2 times I had to send mine back because of the doneness being wrong.

Last review dated 12/02. Have been back a number of times since. Still the same; ""GREAT""!! Prices are reasonable compared to the ""elite"" steakhouses in the area and reservations are needed for Friday & Saturday or do expect a 60-90 min. wait, but while waiting head for the bar area and relax.
Not many places offer a salad bar anymore; I happen to like creating my own salad and not have some person in the back putting together a non-descript combo of whatever.
Last visit was Mothers Day with my wife, daughters and son-in-law, asked for Kevin and he came out to greet us even though the place was very busy and he was working the grill even though he is now one the owners.
Still a good value when it comes to steakhouses in Buffalo.
