Horrible Service and Employee's could Care Less.
I considered this place to be one of my favorite burgers in buffalo until this past weekend. I waited an hour and 15 minutes for 2 burgers. After the fact we were told there was 2 tables of 20 and it should be soon. they should have notified of the wait as soon as we sat down. when the food came out one burger was not even cooked. looked like it was on the grill for all of 5 minutes and sent out. we asked the watress to have it taken off our bill since we were not going to wait even longer. they had to provide proof to the manager or chef before agreeing to take it off. after all of this they charged us for another tables corona's which we luckily caught. The bill was adjusted and we spoke to the manager whom I find out is the wife of the owner. She shrugged us off and didnt care. all she said was we did the right thing and walked away. The next day I noticed they charged my debit card for both the incorrect bill and the correct bill. After I notice this I called them back and the staff said to come in with proof. upon asking to speak with the owner they said the owner would email us in a few days. that is unacceptable. I then requested the owner call me and they said they would call the owner after their shift was over. that is insane since it is work related. They then said how is emailing me by Thursday or Friday which is rediculous since they are holding my money. After this insane customer service I will not be going back there again.

Ive been going to Gabriel’s Gate now for several years. I love the food. In fact, I think they have the best wings in Buffalo.
I used to make the Gate a weekly visit until recently.
Although they still have some of the best dishes in Buffalo, and the prices are reasonable, the service has taken such a decline in the past six months that I would not embarrass myself by bringing a guest there again.
The last time I went there my date and I had to wait so long to be asked for drinks (10 min) that we left before our waitress even came over. What makes it worse is that there were only three or four other customers in the establishment, and they were all having drinks.
I have given the Gate more than its fair share of chances. I really wish I could say that my last experience was a one off, but its not.
If you choose to go, expect great food and a fantastic selection of beer, but don't expect to get it within any reasonable length of time.

Go for the wings - stay for the atmosphere, beer and Sabres games. Old Buffalo residence with a lot of history. Nice and dark, fireplace, hardwood. Gab's gate is located in Allentown with numerous bars in walking distance. The gate serves great buffalo wings, awesome pub food, and a nice list of specialty sandwiches and burgers. They were open during the October storm, when no one had food or heat. Packed, but the service was still great!!! I don't think you can be disappointed.

if you like popcorn, you'll love gabriels gate! basically that's all we ate for an hour while waiting for our first round of drinks and appetizer. The table of six next to us arrived about 15 minutes after us, complained immediately and received 2 complimentary bottles of wine, one later accidently put on OUR check. there were no apologies made, and nobody checked in on us as we tried to be polite because it was obviously a busy night. When our food (appetizer and entrees together) arrived, it was cold, although when we inquired about it 2 minutes earlier, ""it wasnt even up yet, dude"". the greek salad had cajun chicken and the reuben was, no joke, WET. when we tried to return it, the waiter said he couldnt remove it from the check, although uneaten, because ""the owner would be mad"". the fish fries were 90% ""fry"" and 10% fish. This was, in all honesty a very busy night, but even excercising patience didnt help, as we were forgotten about, and no apologies were genuinely made. my advice is, if it's busy, complain loudly, immediately and maybe you'll be taken care of. i know this isnt always the case here....but i wouldnt take the risk.

One of the more interesting places to eat in Allentown. First - the food is great, and the prices are very reasonable. Second - check out the decor... Gabriels Gate is in a historically significant building. Third - a great place to take a date! In wintertime, try to get near the fireplace. Fourth - during prime eating hours (even late night sometimes!) Gabriels Gate is very busy, but getting a table is often not a huge deal. Check it out!
