DO NOT BOOK THIS PHOTOGRAPHER!! Unless you want to have to constantly hound him to get the items for which you paid. My husband and I were married on April 1, 2017. Over ten months have passed since our wedding and I have yet to receive the majority of our order, including our wedding album, two parent albums, framed portrait, and CD/zip drive of our photos. To date we have a link to our photos marked with Brian's business logo online, 200 4x6 hard photos, and 100 wallets of one photo. We asked if for the wallets we could choose 4 photos and get 25 of each, but he was unable to accomodate this request. He is nearly impossible to reach. If you e-mail him you receive an auto-reply response dated 2016. We had to e-mail him several times requesting if we could receive the 100 wallet photos before Christmas so we could send them in cards (because what else are we supposed to do with 100 identical wallet photos), instead of ever responding, he merely showed up at our house randomly and left them on the door step when we weren't home, which I found not only unprofessional, but slightly creepy. The quality of the photos are OK, but largely amateur. While the photos are for the most part in focus, the majority of them are not properly centered, cropped, and no photoshop. He is not especially artisitc or creative, but the photos could be worse. I tried to schedule a meeting with him before the wedding to discuss shots we wanted, but he said it wasn't neccessary. I regret not insisting because I ended up with very boring photos. Actually, hopefully I will end up with my boring photos if he ever delivers the remainder of items that we paid for. I'm doubtful at this point I will be able to flip through my wedding album on my one year anniversary. Also, his website you use to choose your photos is horribly formatted and very difficult to use. I could continue to complain, but my point has been made. Bride's beware. Brian is just the WORST to deal with. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK.
When I was shopping for all my wedding needs, my goal was to find quality at an affordable price. Many photography studios I looked in to had exactly what I was looking for but when it came to the price, there was simply no way! Chris Boswell of Boswell Photo was super easy going and understanding, his prices reflected more of what I was looking for with just the right quality if not better than some other over priced companies. Not only was the price reasonable, Chris Boswell worked with me every step of the way from offering a FREE engagement session, to letting me send pictures of photos I wanted captured on my special day and even doing a trash the dress session (without having to actually trash my dress) I loved working with him so much that he is now my forever photographer. I highly recommend Boswell Photo if you are looking for reasonably priced QUALITY work and someone who is personable and will listen to your wants and needs.
Photographer that knows how to capture everything beautifully. Great eye for detail and posing. Friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
I would not recommend this photographer for anything. I’m so disappointed! :(
I would not recommend this photographer for anything but senior portraits or posed family portraits in his studio. However, his studio consists of going to his house and being photographed is his living/dining room area that is adequate but has limitations. If you want a decent picture of your kid, he seems to put the most effort into these types of picture and worst case scenario if they don't turn out to your liking you can always go somewhere else. On the other hand if you want out of studio pictures for an event, I would not recommend this photographer. It is apparent that he is less experienced here. Expect any out of studio pictures to be off centered, have awkward backgrounds and not be of the best quality. If you want out of studio on location pictures then I would suggest using a different local photographer who is more experienced out of the studio and has higher quality equipment to get clearer pictures. As far as Chris the photographer goes, expect awkward conversation and too much information on how much money he makes compared to how much money other photographers make and how much it costs to be in business. If I was Chris, I would do the following to better my business and avoid more negative reviews; 1) Focus on senior portraits or posed family pictures in house (give up on trying to do it all); 2) Invest your money in making your studio a professional studio (verse an converted living/dining room when it's convenient) by redecorating and investing in more backgrounds and props. 3) Have a professional way for customers to view photos such as a high resolution monitor so customers can view their pictures in proportion and clearly see them. 4) Have a way to offer online photo ordering to your customers; 5) Ditch the lame Boswell Photo stamp on the prints as nobody wants to see it and it doesn't help your business. It discourages clients from reordering from you because it takes away from the photos. If you want to mark them, mark them on the back.
