We have been at TLC for almost 2 months now and I can honestly say we couldn't be happier. After having a pretty bad experience at another local day care, we were on the search for a place that we could feel safe having our little ones..particularly my daughter. I am so happy we found TLC. The owners there are so sweet and you can tell they deeply care about the kids and the center. The director is amazing. She has her stuff together I can say that much. She's very bright and attentive to not only the children, but the staff as well. The teachers are amazing. You can tell that they love what they do. They do so many activities with the kiddos. Every week she come home with so many cute projects. I really can't think of anything that we have concerns about at all. Their curriculum is play based and awesome! Every 6-12 weeks (I believe) they have an enrichment program that the kiddos participate in and then at the end of the program, they take their kits home. They also practice ESL and Spanish. Our last daycare was supposedly the top rated day care in the Austin area. My daughter went there since 8 weeks old. In her 15 months there I saw her sign maybe one word. At TLC, she's signed at least 5-7 (just in the last 2 months) and she says some words in Spanish and her vocabulary has just exploded. Other great things the security there is top notch. The facilities are clean and really nice. Over all, I would recommend TLC to anyone and everyone!
We are so thrilled with the infant care for our son. He started there at 7 months after a really bad experience in a different day care center. The class is small, his teacher is absolutely incredible, and Leo, Tina, and Lily are amazing. Communication is top notch and I always feel informed. They do lots of fun interactive things for the kids and parents. We just could not be happier with our experience there!
it is extremely hard to find a daycare that you can trust. Finding TLE has been a blessing. My son absolutely adores the staff and his teacher Ms. Whitney. He is always smiling and laughing when I pick him up and ask if he can go back everyday. They have an excellent curricullim and strive to develop active minds and happy hearts. I can't tell you enough how much we love TLE.
We absolutely LOVE this daycare! As you know leaving your baby somewhere while you are at work is heartbreaking and its hard to trust someone else will give your child the same great care you would. However The Learning Experience has been amazing! We love everyone there and when I pick up my child each day and he has a smile on his face- I know we are at the right place!
I had a similar experience with the owner. She's extremely judgemental not to mention mental. For a business owner to tell the parent that their child is fine, but the parent "is not a good fit for the school"... What the heck is she talking about? Had my child there for about 6 months but because I didn't mingle with her or some of the teachers for longer than 5 minutes everyday, I was told I was "not interested enough in my child's progress". WHAT?!?? Unless a problem or situation arose, their was no real need to sit down to tea daily with the staff or the owner. One day I sent my child off to this place, I got a call that my child had fallen ill after lunch with diarrhea and that I needed to pick him up. Whe I arrived, the owner was irate with me because supposedly I had been 'dishonest' in leaving him there, "knowing he was sick". Again, WHAT!!??! If I had known through some magical crystal ball that he'd wind sick, I would have kept him home. She's insane. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THS PLACE. Staff is a high turn over rate as well. This owner is a micromanager from what I had seen, and normal people don't put up with that for too long. She'll boast that her school has such a great curriculum etc, but be prepared to be judged unfairly and walk on egg shells. Ridiculous. I know 2 of my neighbors that pulled their kid outta their too. When we asked them why, they both responded with pretty much the same answers. "The owner".
The owner has so upset and offended me that I am going to let other parents know so that they can avoid such an awful experience themselves:I toured the Buda location this morning with my two children (2 and 4 years old.) After the tour, I asked the owner what I needed to do to hold the two spots, since the center was almost full and she said there were only two spots available. The owner told me that, before I left the center (as in right then and there), I should leave 350 dollars--for registration and a deposit.I told her that I don't like to make decisions that quickly, that I needed a little time to think it over. Her tone immediately changed to "well, I mean no disrespect, but the first person who walks through that door is going to get the spot. I won't hold any places." She seemed irked that I wasn't immediately on board. It was a marked shift and rather strange. So I left and thought about it for an hour and decided to hold the spots--that while the center is not nearly as clean and wonderful and appealing as where my kids are now, that it was quite a bit cheaper, and I am a teacher on a tight budget so money matters. So, not wanting to lose the spots, I called. The owner then proceeded to tell me that she "declined" (her words) my wish to put my children there. She said that (after seeing my children for a total of two minutes, as she was NOT the one to give the tour) that my children weren't listening to me and seemed to have a hard time following my directions. This is a total crock. NOT TRUE and NOT FAIR. And if somebody comes back and writes a review otherwise, let me just say now that it's a total lie. She was in effect saying (after two minutes) that my children weren't well behaved. I think while I was talking to her, my children opened up a supply closet to see what was inside. WOW-- so badly behaved. They had been good and attentive for at least 30 minutes while I talked to another lady. They were bored and ready to do something.I assess this whole awful interaction in one of two ways: 1. She was mad that I did not sign up on the spot and that led to her "decline" or 2. That she is an incredibly rude and judgmental person to decide how my children are after ZERO words with them and so very little interaction. NOT FAIR and really upsetting to a mother who loves her children. So, my recommendation for this place is a BIG FAT NO NO NO NO.
