I went here with my hubby for our first date night post baby! I was already super excited because of all the wonderful reviews I had read, and I was not disappointed. So, first we were greeted by the complimentary valet when we pulled up, which is always a wonderful thing, especially here in Atlanta where parking can be a nightmare. Next, we walked in and spoke to the hostess, who seemed a little overwhelmed with the large crowd, but was still nice and quick to greet us and get our name. We had reservations for 7:30, but did have a 10 minute wait because they were a little behind. However, this was not too terrible since we were able to order a drink at the bar in the mean time. It was a Saturday night, so it was very crowded, but our drinks were ready very quickly, and the bartender was personable and helped me choose a drink that I would enjoy (I am not a big drinker), and it was delicious! Sadly, I do not recall the name of it. Once we were seated, we got our waters and cheese bread, and the waiter explained to us how things work with the red and green coaster.. turn it over to green for servers to come offer you meat, and turn it over to red to stop the servers from offering. Next, they brought out the side items while we went and loaded our plates at the extensive salad bar.. I had never seen anything like it! I tried most everything they had out and all of it was tasty. Next, we turned our cards to green and immediately were offered many types of meat. Every single thing I had was amazing, except for the lamb. I am partial here though, since I had never had lamb and was very hesitant to try it at all. My favorite meat was the filet mignon, but everything was cooked perfectly. You are able to choose which part of the meat you want by how it is cooked (medium rare, medium, etc). So, after many rounds of meat and tasting all the sides (which were good but nothing spectacular compared to the meat), we ordered dessert. We chose the papaya cream with the blueberry liqueur on top, and it was wonderful! Overall, I would give this place 6 out of 5 stars if I could! Totally worth the small fortune we spent! :-)

Anniversary Gift!\r My husband surpirsed me and took me here. This was great the food was great and the service ws great! We loved it, we will retu…
We went to dinner at Sundial for our anniversary weekend. I was really excited and expected a similar experience to that of Top of the World in Vegas that was spectacular. As they both offer 360 degree views I anticipated a beautiful evening. That wasn't the case. When we arrived the staff clearly had other things on their minds and overlooked us several times. To the point I addressed the waitress about her lack of attention to which she had a very snarky remark. We should have left, but gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. We managed one cocktail in 45 minutes. We had to leave our table repeatedly to track down wait staff, had to ask several times for water, and the meal overall was subpar. They do have a gorgeous view and it's sad the service and food just don't equal the view. It has potential, but is sorely lacking in flavor and service compared to other restaurants in Atlanta.
When visiting Atlanta there are a few things that you have to experience and one of those things are dining at The Sun Dial Restaurant Bar & View. This restaurant takes your dining experience to a new level. The restaurant sits 723 feet in the air on top of the Westin Peachtree Plaza. If viewing the Atlanta skyline from this level wasn't enough the restaurant moves around in a circle to allow you to view the entire thing. If you've ever gone to Vegas this place will remind you of Stratosphere Roof top only you want see people jumping off the side. I went here for brunch (my favvvvvvvvvvv) and really enjoyed myself. The view and food was amazing. If you want to get even closer to the action then you can go to the view level and it's $8 for adults an $4 for children ages 6 to 12. The hours are daily from 10am to closing.
If there were 10 stars, that's the rating I would give. My husband and I were in Atlanta because I had business here. The food was fantastic! We ordered steaks and they were massive. They were cooked to perfection and the spices they were cooked in were very flavorful. I ordered shrimp scampi along with my steak and they were the biggest shrimp I've ever seen. You definitely get what you pay for. Our server, Quentin, was absolutely amazing. He was an absolutely delightful person and a fantastic server. Although our food was great, the service was even better. He went above and beyond to make our experience a pleasant one. My family visits Atlanta often and we will definitely be back to this restaurant.
I was excited about trying all the unique food here. Since this is owned by the same folks who own Bacchanalia, I thought this would be a good place to try unusual foods like livers, sweatbreads, etc, because if it is not tastey here, it won't be anywhere. Well, the apps weren't that tastey. Even foods that I'm very familiar with, like kielbasa, was not what I expected. We didn't order any entrees, which are more normal like steaks etc, but the tables around us appeared to enjoy them. It's in an old warehouse, so can be loud and hard to hear. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Everything was outstanding! We really enjoyed our experience and time here. The hostess and maitre' d were very nice and; even the bus boys were super polite and friendly. We had a lamb tartar starter, braised pork shoulder and sea scallops. So many different flavors that were new to us made the items we ordered that much better. Definitely coming back for more!!
Where to start... Fogo de chao is a special place I love to go when I'm in the mood for meat! It's an "all you can eat" style restaurant with amazing meat. They also offer a salad bar that is included in the price. The salad bar itself is amazing. It's such a great bang for you buck restaurant. They are also building a new fogo de chao near perimeter mall!
WOW...I do not say that a lot but..... All my friends keep telling me to try out Tantra restaurant…have a list of places to eat at but… I waited to long this place is really what Atlanta needs… From the entrance through the second doors that surprised us when we walk in… To the unique espresso shots at the end… I wish I eat here sooner…….
This is a stellar dining experience. Beautiful decor, a gourmet salad bar and your choice of the most wonderfully seasoned meats - and it's endless. Try the lemonade! It's heavenly! If you can, save room for dessert. If not, just have one of their specialty coffees. I recommend lunch. It's far less crowded.
The Sun Dial restaurant is a great place to celebrate a special event. Perched high atop the Westin downtown, the restaurant revolves 360 degrees over the course of an hour to showcase Atlanta and surrounds. While the views are the highlight, the food is also quite good.
