On May 2, 2017 technician David G. from Middleton Heat and Air "serviced" my HVAC unit. Among other things, the technician installed a filter of an incorrect size in my unit, leaving it flopping around in the air flow. I won't allow that technician back into my home.
Update: After initially experiencing problems with the quality of workmanship exhibited by one of their technicians, Middleton Heat and Air sent a different technician out to re-do the job. Michael J. did an awesome and thorough job on the maintenance of my HVAC unit.
Love these guys! I had to turn my AC back on with this weird warmer weather and it was blowing, but it wasn't blowing cold air. So I called Middleton for an appointment. The service tech came out right on his scheduled time and fixed my AC unit in no time! He was professional and so nice! Thanks Middleton!
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I was so nervous about calling for my broken heating unit after hearing horror stories from some of my friends and other heating and air services they've used. After a recommendation to Middleton, I called and set up an appointment. It couldn't have gone any smoother. Middleton's technician was knowledgable, professional, and genuinely concerned for our needs. There wasn't anything he couldn't take care of for us, which completely eased my anxiety. We're back up and running and very impressed with our service. Thank you Middleton!

My heat suddenly quit working so I called Middleton Heat and Air. Their techs were quick and efficient to come out and solve the issue. Very polite and professional. May be higher priced than other heat and air companies, but the quality of service speaks for itself. I have had botch up jobs in the past while trying to save a few dollars. Middleton's guys know what they're doing and how to do it the correct way. I will continue to only use Middleton from now on.

During the cool front last week, I tried to turn my heat on for the first time since probably March. To my surprise, it wouldn't turn on at all. I decided to give Middleton a call to let them know I had a problem. I was told that I would have a tech out to my house in about an hour, but maybe 40 minutes after I made the call, I had one knocking at the door. I explained the problem with my heat not turning on at all and he immediately starting looking for the culprit. About 10 minutes later he informs me that I had a snapped copper pin and that he could simply replace it for me and that should fix the problem. He did and my heat turned on and worked just fine!
I was very impressed with the serviced I received and the very little time it took Middleton's tech to get my heat back up and running. He seemed very knowledgeable and was very courteous and polite. I will definitely use Middleton for all my future heat and air concerns!

After noticing some wet areas on my dinning room ceiling (right below one of my 2 A/C units), we called Middleton. This was on a Sunday and they could not get out until Thursday. We turned the one unit off to prevent further water damage for 4 days until Middleton could arrive. We were told they would be there around 12:30 and they did not show up until after 5p (after we called to find out why no one had shown up). The guy that showed up was helpful and ""blew"" the lines out to unclog them, BUT, 3 days later the leak got worse and I now have to replace my entire dinning room ceiling, insulation and all! We called Middleton back and when they showed up at approx 9:30pm, he had to RE-BLOW the lines and he stated he felt like they really got it cleaned out this time. THIS TIME??? I now have severe water damage. Again, he was nice, seemed honest and did not charge me for the 2nd visit. My only gripe is that they should have gotten the lines cleaned the 1st time and I might not have to rip out my dinning room ceiling! Things happen and no one is perfect, but having water damage should require attention to detail and double checking that they issue is resolved the 1st time.

Have a manitenance agreement with Middleton. Middleton came out on November 22 to do the winter maintenance. 6 weeks later my unit stopped working on a Sunday. Middleton came out, charged me a service call and I was told the part would be $161. I was told that the part that went out was not part of the maintenance. What's the purpose of the maintenance agreement if parts stop working within a few weeks of the scheduled maintenance? The service charged should at least been waived. Don't get the maintenance agreement!

Come spring time (2010), I turned my air on and it wasn't cooling. I'd used Middleton for their Spring and Fall maintenance check up before (costs about $200 total) and thought that was a fair price. So, I called them to come out since I figured my Freon was just low. I had an early afternoon appointment (12-2:30). The guy didn't show up till 5:30. I have 2 condensing units (the square looking unit outside your house where you put freon in). He pressure checked both units and neither had any freon in them. As soon as he found this he said he would recommend not putting any more money into the units and recommended to replace my entire system (2 heating and cooling units) because they were 14 years old (thats not real old)!!! He wouldn't give me an approximate price but I've had them quote another system before and it was $6,000 for one unit, so I new I'd be looking at about $12,000 for 2 units. He said he could put freon in the condensing units and see what happeed. So he did, and turns out I just had a hole in my refrigerant line in both units which caused the freon to leak out (an easy fix)! So here he was wanting me to spend $12,000 instead of just fixing 2 small holes. He said he could'nt fix one of the condensing units because of the location of the hole and that I would have to replace that condensing unit out (cost of $2,000 approximately). I said well just fix the other unit then. So he fixed it and I was charged $650 dollars total for 1 1/2 hours easy work and $130 of that was material cost. That breaks down to $346 an hour!!!!
The next day I had another company come out to look at the other unit that Middleton said couldn't be fixed. This guy was referred to me by a plumber friend of mine. The guy fixed the problem in 30 minutes. This guy did the exact same work as the Middleton guy plus he had to do some additonal work because of the location of the hole in the refrigerant line. To be fair he only had to put 5 pounds of freon in as opposed to Middleton putting in 7 pounds. So to recap, this guy did more work (about twice as much as I watched both guys from start to finish) and charged $10 less per pound of Freon ($15 vs. 25). His total bill came to $174 dollars. And if your thinking this guy must just be a shade tree mechanic type, he's not. He has been doing nothing but heat and air work for almost 30 years.
Middleton charged 3.5 times what this guy did and Middleton did less work and tried to sell me something I didn't need. I will never use Middleton again. Shop around for an independent HVAC guy. Think about all the overhead Middleton must have with all their new buildings and vans/trucks they drive plus advertising.
