I would not recommend doing business with this Mariana. A couple months ago my outboard broke, I am a commercial fisherman and need a outboard to work. So I went into new meadows with cash in hand telling them I needed a outboard. The owner informed me they had 2 in stock that would work for what I was going my to use it for. A 70hp and a 60hp, the 70 was a scratch and dent (which according to Yamaha doesn't exist any damaged outboard is to be sent back to them instead of sold) which may have been sold he had to double check with his sales person to see if it was available. I said that was fine if it wasn't available I would take the 60. I waited 5 days called and left 3 messages and went into the store 2 more times when finally on the second trip I was informed the 70 was sold. I said fine I'll take the 60 I paid and set up a time to drop off my boat. I brought my boat up and told them I want it installed correctly and I'm willing to pay what it costs to be done right the first time because I can't afford to lose more fishing days I showed the owner where I wanted the gauges and control box. They said it would take about a week at most 4 days was the more likely time frame. I stopped in a couple days later to check on progress (I'm glad I did) the mechanic installing my outboard stated he was glad I stopped by because they gave him no instructions on where to mount the control box or anything. I gladly showed him and he said it would be done in a day or 2. I also asked about the structural integrity of their installation process of using lag bolts to hold the motor on instead of through bolts with nuts and washers. I was told this was normal and would be fine. I stopped by a couple days later to check again and they said the boat was done they had never bothered to call and tell me it was complete. They then asked if I could come back later for the paperwork when the owner was around. I asked if there was anything I should know before taking the boat and they told me it was all set. Luckily I had received my owners manual at the time of purchase and had read it to know for the first few hours you have to run the motor a specific way to break it in (I was not informed times of this by new meadows). Upon finishing the break in period I realized they had put the wrong prop on the outboard. I informed them of this and after charging me $60 and trying to different props they finally got the right one. After owning the outboard for less then 2 months I was out on the ocean when I noticed water coming up from below deck. I pulled the hatch can't get and quickly realized I was sinking. Upon a quick investigation I realized the lag bolts they had attached the motor with had pulled out I was taking on water through those holes. Luckily I was on the boat when this happened and noticed it otherwise it would of sank. I question colt plugged the holes with 5200 and spare bolts I had on the boat and made it to shore. I informed new meadows of their sub-par installation and they said the would do fix it installing through bolts nuts and washers like I asked. They did get it fixed in a timely manner but upon me picking the boat up I was charged for them to fix their mistake and the two gentlemen I picked the boat up from were extremely rude and basically shoved me out the door. There are a multitude of other problems I encountered with my experience with new meadows that I have not listed as well. I have since brought my business to nadeaus in litchfield and there professionalism far exceeds anything new meadows could dream of and I would suggest bringing your business's there.
My family and I have been doing business at New Meadows Marina for as long as the current owners have been in business here. They are as honest and reliable as the day is long. I trust them completely as business people and experts in boats and boating. They watch out for my safety and never do unnecessary work. They stand behind their work 100%.
Poor customer service and questionable business ethics makes this a place to AVOID
