Tres Margaritas is a Colorado chain that we avoided for many years, until finally, after trying every Mexican restaurant near our prior home in Longmont, we tried it out. Hands down, it's the best Mexican food we've found, no matter where we have moved on the front range (Fort Collins to Westminster). They raised their prices quite a bit a few years ago, which was disappointing, so if you're looking for "cheap" Mexican, this isn't it. But it's extremely family friendly and festively decorated, and the service, no matter what location we go to, is excellent. Plus, the portions are huge; we always leave with a second meal. There's nothing sloppy about this place. Great for a Friday night out after a long week when you are craving a margarita and some comfort food. I adore their spinach quesadilla!

I eat here too many times a month, to count. I love the food, and the waiters and waitress treat me and my family wonderful. The only thing I do not like is the new management. I used to enjoy eating here, then the new management came in, and treats me and my family like garbage. I feel like I do not need to waste any more of my time or money here. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly, and they keep me coming here, until the manager comes up and tells me I am keeping them from working by socializing. If you cannot enjoy your surroundings then it is just not worth the time or money here. I will miss all the good people, and wonderful service, but from now on until they replace the current management, I will eat elsewhere.

Colorado has a huge population of people from the mid west. At the risk of sounding insulting, people from the mid west for the most part are completely clueless as to what good Mexican food is. These are the people from the land of ham and potatoes, pot-roast and green beans and every other food that while tasty in its own right, is bland. This explains why Three Margaritas is so popular in Colorado. My wife and I found it disgusting. The food was bland and tasted like different versions of bland paste. My wife, an enchilada connoisseur was in complete disbelief at the blob of food they claimed was an enchilada. It was tasteless rubbery boiled chicken, a low grade tortilla that tasted like the bad supermarket type, and the sauce was bland tomato paste with slight trace elements of some kind of mystery spice. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE.

This place is awful. I can only deduce that the people in the area just don't know what good food/service is, which is why they think the place is so great. The food is just ok, way greasy with way too much cheese. The salsa is runny and watery. The green chili is one good thing there. Oh did I mention the wannabe ceviche? It's disgusting. Our waiter pretty much threw the plate down on the table. From what we could tell, it's made up of mushrooms and covered in lime juice concentrate and, well, something else. Just disgusting. The service now -- well, it depends on who you are. If you are Mexican or at least Spanish speaking, then you will be treated like gold. Otherwise, you are treated like cr*p. I watched customers being treated badly, but it seems they like this! We went to their new place on 104th -- even worse. We watched as the bartender served Mexican couple after couple. When she finally felt we deserved a drink, she made a margarita out of tequila and orange juice!!!!!! This is how they make their money. Instead of making a good drink with Cointreau, they use OJ!!! Never again. We finally got a table. The waiter wouldn't even bother looking at us. He was really rushing us (a common theme in their restaurants -- rush so we can get as much money as possible off of these suckers!), we finally just walked out. Go to Jalisco's on 104th by the Red Lobster. Authentic and very kind people.

I'm from Texas and find that the Mexican restaurants in this area are usually sadly lacking. Three Margaritas is not the case. The food is good and the service is great. The entrees, chips, and salsa is good. However, they like to smother things in TONS of cheese, which is gross. Their meat in the tacos also tastes like it's from Taco Bell. (So don't expect anything too gourmet.) However, most of the food is quite good. I go here all of the time and would recommend it over any other Mexican restaurant in the Boulder/Louisville area.

My family went here for a special evening and we were all pleasantly surprised by 3 Margaritas. While I've had slightly better food elsewhere, its also come at 3x the price and usually with poor service. The kitchen was so quick that I expected ""microwave"" food but I was wrong, it was quite obviously made to order (esp due to special requests we'd made). But the best part was the service, everyone from the manager to the bus boys made us feel special and appreciated. We'll all be back ... soon!!
The food is great, and you won't go hungry-both due to the food quantities, and the quick delivery of food to your table. Personally, I love the Expresso Burrito smothered with the pork green chile. Huge chunks of meat and a superb flavor. Our family's been there with friends and everyone enjoys the food there. Beware of potential delays in getting seated on weekend evenings, with a very small wait area and a parking area that's questionable at best. However, during off hours (such as weekday lunches), it's one of the best around!
Wheather you're looking for the usual buritto, enchilada, taco etc.,or looking for more unusual authentic mexican fare this is the place to go! Not only is the food great but the service is timely as well. Yes you can get timely elsewhere but not prepared from scratch...only from a ""canned"" restaurant!
Food quality, quantity, service, price and timeliness is at least a 9!
The only con I would note; if you're looking for a quiet, romantic meal this is not the place ..it does tend to get rather loud.....

They have a wonderful menu with great variety. There burritos, enchiladsas, chimichangas, and tamales are all wonderful. Some of their specialty dishes under seafood, chicken, steak and pork are excellent. Of course their margaritas are fabulous. However, if you get the monster drink, be sure to have a designated driver. Their huge! Great place for kids and the Monday nights mariachi is fun! Excellent service as well.
